Hi Lamb chop, I’ve been trying to find out which way to turn the mixture screws on my 1997 RRV, I’m smelling fuel in the exhaust gas on tick over , float heights and float valves are good, I’m thinking turning them in (clockwise) weakens the mixture, am I right?, cheers Mark. Stop press, I just watched your float bowl cleaning video where you explained that turning anti clockwise richens the mixture, thank you
Thanks very much, didnt know if it would be interesting to anyone but though while its appart hehe. Im going to be adding a CBR1000RR engine over the winter and doing a video diary so stay tuned :-)
I'm kinda confused, especially by the statement "if you don't have a dynojet needle it won't be notched", makes it sound like it's some great dynojet innovation, I've been riding for 40 years and have only had one bike that didn't come with a notched needle from the factory, the bike I have now. I admit i tend to prefer older bikes, but are adjustable needles from the factory really that rare with newer bikes? i thought the reason the bike i have now didn't have them is because it has crap hitachi carbs....
AWESOME video Lamb Chop as usual. Love your Channel ! I Have a SC33 ,Could you please say a couple of words about the actual difference and feel in riding the bike, is it really worth it, any difference in fuel consumption, and so on? Thank you!!!
Hi there. I have 98 cbr900rr myself. Saw that awesome ohlins invertod fork on your bike and the 17' front rims with brembo brakes. Do you mind sharing what/how did you do your upgrade? I'm keen on upgrading my blade stock suspension as well. CHEERS!
My cbr pulls like train, but it does crackle the exhaust in deceleration at high rpm, plugs are fine etc.. Should I worry??? Its a loud crackling, sounds cool lol
So if I am installing a dynojet kit, do I have to install it on all 4 carbs? I have an 02 zx9r. I just want to know how that works. Please I need your help.
You should be able to feel an increase in power tbh.. Or dyno it before and after so you have a measured increase. To tell if its fueling correctly you can remove a plug and see if its rich or lean but there is an art to reading plugs.. The only way to be 100% sure the fueling is correct is to dyno the bike.
my bike is having the issue where it hauls through first and second but in third and up there is no throttle response. you can go from 1/4 to wide open and the rpms climb really really slow. What do you thing the problem is. lean or rich? thanks in advance. and great video.
You got it dude, how are you? I did friend you on fb yesterday as rct incase you were wondering? P.s. xjr400r2 is my current steed, we have to hook up for a chat & a ride? All we got to do is get steven to purhase a bike and then it will be like old times again.. P.p.s love your channel great info.
Thanks William, blimey blast from the past eh. good times! Yes defo up for a meet up, accepted the friend request so lets organise something :) No chance of Steve getting another bike he's not had one since the RG125 he had! lol
Thanks! Had only experience with slide needle carbs. Saw the diaphragm and had to figure out how to do it without damaging anything.

why did you lower the needle? what were the symptoms?
when you dismantled the top there was 2 washers on the needle where did they go?
Does one washer go on top of the needle and one under the circlip? It seems mine was set up this way, is the washer on top of the circlip necessary?

Hi Nanja, yes install in to all four carbs. Should be Spring changes and jets. But kits do differ between bikes.
So it should have all the necessary tools upon purchase?
Yes should all be there with instructions also so you will be fine
