    Jeff's Wardrobe doesn't match his personality and character til like halfway through season 2. I always forget how wild his first season outfits were though.

    Oh, sick, this is one of my favorite shows! It takes a little while for it to really separate from other sitcoms to show you what makes it special though.

    This is my favorite sit com of all time I think. It is such a joy! The show is good at the start, but in my humble opinion, S1E21 is where "Prime" Community starts.

    5:51 it varies- I started out in one community college near my hometown that had a campus that was comparable to what’s seen on the show, with multiple buildings and lots of open public space, then I transferred to a branch in a larger city and the campus was literally just one building and a parking lot.

    American higher education has several layers. Top tier is Ivy League and the most accomplished public universities that compete globally. Then prestigious but accessible public universities that are regional attractors. Somewhere around there are small but renowned specialty colleges for sciences, liberal arts, music, etc. Then big state universities that most people can get into, mainly for people of that state, and usually are best known for sports teams and campus parties. On the very local level are community colleges and trade schools, often found in association with each other.

    Nice. I think the premise for this show came from Dan Harmon attending a community college as a youth and initially subconsciously looking down on the people around him and thinking that this was beneath him, but then slowly growing out of that mindset and building a bond with this odd group of mismatching people over time or something. Also says every character is taken from some aspect of himself (especially Jeff, Britta, and Abed).
    Have you guys done the whole Arrested Development thing before, by the way? You might appreciate how clever and intricate the humor gets.

    I went to Community College in Nova Scotia, canada for Carpentry, 2 year peogram. It was great! Definitely hands on learning. It was never given as an option to me in high school to go to community college, and ive tried my hamd at university and regular college, but the only program i finished was community college. Got a job as soon as graduated, due to the work placement program they have. My campus just recently finished building on-site student housing

    You can’t judge “Community” by its pilot episode; it’s good, but it doesn’t give you an idea on where this show will go once it finds its footing.
    It takes good deal of the first season before it develops into what Community really is, as Dan Harmon developed the confidence to make the show he wanted, instead of a standard sitcom.
    Don’t worry, though; it’s still a great show in the first season with hints of what is to come in the writing and performances.

    • @PhilipManzano
      @PhilipManzano  24 дня назад

      Fair -- haha can't wait for the show to find it's footing. Already some great episodes though. Such good writing.

      @@PhilipManzano seasons 2 and 3 are considered by many as the best 2 seasons. I forget just how good the first season is because most of my favorite episodes are in those 2, and later seasons.
      Watching reaction videos reminds me how many great story lines were early in the series.
      As good as it is now, it gets even better.
      And don’t listen to everyone telling you about the 4th season. It’s not as good, because Harmon had been fired, but it still had some good episodes.
