your commitment to all of these is seriously commendable. it seems so easy to just do a little bit of stretching every day, yet i also know how hard it is to keep it going (for me at least). so good to see you actually making great progress by sticking to it! well done!!
The cuddle with the baby was everything! I got a rush of oxytocin for you. Great work on the pancake, I am learning it right now and have got stuck so you have encouraged me to continue. I will also sign up to the mobility class with CaliMove 💪
Your honesty is the best part of this channel! Thanks for continuously inspiring me to keep pushing even when I feel discouraged by slow progress/plateaus!
Your integrity is what I as a subscriber is what I appreciate most. You inspire because just like in some of your titles you claim and it is plain to see that you started from an average guy perspective and while you of course are far from average as your wife and child you are someone those of us probably do more watching than you do doing and being a good all around good dude.👍🏾✌🏾
Just bought this program last week during Black Friday. So far I am on Day 4, long way to go. Thanks for sharing your progress, it looked like your baby was excited for you completing the pancake and great stuff to get extra support from Alex.
I really love the structured and analytical way of approaching these movements and exercises. Also, you being honest and explaining your weaknesses and strengths is refreshing to hear. I also thought the pancake was a move not made for me, but because I can relate to you, I now know it's worth trying.
I'd love to get to where you were on day 1! Really appreciate your commitment and substance! Calimove's original mobility programme has been game changing for me! Mobility is the fountain of youth!
I love that you never quit and give it your all! I've been following you on your other journeys and today I've finally subscribed because I, too, want to nail the pancake! Thanks for continuously inspiring us in your never ending quest for new challenges. You rock!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Lots of great info crammed into it. Thank you for taking the time to make it. Congratulations on your success. Baby was stoked too! :) Subscribed ... can't wait for your next adventure...
Great Video as always, I rather see a true and honest progression even if it takes longer. Knowing that a regular person can achieve it in an equal amount is was better then faked numbers!
I really like this video. I have been working on this skill for the past month to improve my flexibility for taekwondo. So far I can get my legs out to about 140 degrees. This video has inspired me to keep on going because of a formal average guy can do it, so can I!
i love your honesty and that it takes you so long to achieve your goals. just like normal people. and i also love calimove and his strong german accent (i'm also german)
Thanks for being honest about this! 3 mths plus seems to be a magic number to achieving many improvements. I am close to three months carnivore. 3 days in doing Atg and pancake stretch for horrible groin and hamstring issues that plagued me all my life. Will report back after 3 mths
i love these videos where you learn a skill. i started watching your videos 2 years ago keep it up Also, i like it more when you take longer to accomplish these skills.
i love how honest your videos and channel is. always look forward to a new video because i know you take pride in your hard work and dedication to nailing technique
After years of smashing out fast rows, swims, or rows with little training and zero warm ups, my body had a meltdown and I slipped a disc last Summer. I've slowly improved my mobility since then, and finally got to the point this week that Pancake would be my end of year goal. So I love how timely this is!
this dudes 1 day try pancake is absurdly good lmao. I couldn't even get my arms in front of me after a week of trying this lmao. I stretch pretty regularly and excercise so I am by no means not active
Good job! And calimove are the sh!t. I'm on my second pass through their strenght program 2-5. Three years running and not a single injury while doing steady progress. Was close to messing up my shoulder on a one arm handstand against a wall, but thats on me for not accepting my current limit;)
I'm so excited! This is exactly what I've been working on and I started out even less flexible than you. Now I understand what to do! I love your videos =) Thank you!
Good job! Your honest approach is commendable. I'm currently experimenting with a contract/relax method, where you stretch, then contract for 5 seconds and relax into a deeper stretch for 5 seconds, then repeat. You contract the muscles you are stretching to teach your brain it's okay to relax them even more afterwards. I'm making better progress now with this than with just static and dynamic stretching, and it's easy enough to incorporate into CaliMove's mobility programs, or any other. 5 sets of 5 seconds, 3 to 4 times a week.
Hi, Great video, just to encourage older people I started stretching at 78; two years later I achieved full middle splits and pancake. I am now 85 and do the side splits every day.
Honestly I wouldn't call you a "stiff guy". The position you started with is something I achieved only after 2 years of mobility work :D. Wonder how much will it take me to get full pancake fold
That's exactly what I thought looking at his first pancake which is still better than mine after working towards it for a year. He's already leaning so far forward that all he has to do at that point is let gravity assist several times a week.
Kinda demoralising hearing that it takes two years to get to where geek climber was at. Currently just trying to do nerve flossing but both that (sciatic nerves) and my mobility are just as horrible but I'll get there someday. Best of luck to you guys 🙏
Dude, you are very impressive... Most exercise videos i watch i usually just feel i am not strong enough, or not training enough... But when I look at yours, i think I am not smart enough or dedicated enough... The amount of work you put on analysing everything, taking vidéos.. and working like 700 days on your handstand preparing that video is so impressive.. do you also have a full time job? That's impossible for me to just contemplate putting that kind of hours. I need to quit my job 😅
i especially like that you don't go for the viral title and give a more realistic video for the average person. really motivates more to know things take time:)
When someone admits straight up that their method isn't entirely backed by science the honesty immediately makes me trust them more. Ain't no way chiropractors would ever do that
I find it 😂 you were waiting for your baby to give you a high-five (even if it was just a second. At 7:48). Ok, geek! You’ve inspired me. @calisthenicmovement should thank you for another sale 😉
I wonder if when you're training for a specifc skill like a handstand or a press you still train your pull skills. And if affirmative, do you just maintain it or you lower the frequency? Btw simply loved your channel, i was lost on the chaos of multiple training programs on youtube and your videos gave me a solid north to my trainings. Greetings from Brazil :)
Congrats for nailing the pancake! It was a pleasure to work with you. 👍
I really appreciate the opportunity for working together! I don't think I would've achieved the pancake fold that fast without working with you!
I was not aware you released a 2.0. The 1.0 was 🔥🔥

Love the growing pancake fold gains, and the impressive baby growth gains in the corner. Kid's learning persistence and dedication from his Dad.

That celebration complemented by the baby was one of the most wholesome things I've seen.

i love alexs voice, so unique but endearing, great for a teacher type role.
Me too!
Very impressive gains - slow and steady wins the race!
Thank you for your honestly Geek Climber
congrat on the baby i didnt watch you in a long time
please take care of it and give it advice while also giving him the freedom of choice

I am sure you will learn it eventually as long as you train it consistently!
no we gotta wait for the straight press handstand.
Tries something once

strong man, really strong progress
I really like your videos, keep going and at some point you will do the planche :D
You started very flexible compared to many so it wasn't a big change but nice one.
The blue shirt guy does not joke a lot. He is serious about his stuff.
He is german, why would he waste time joking?
Thanks for your honesty. 👍

Seeing as I am not yet equivalent to your before pictures - this will take some time
That's motivating, thank you.

You "listened" to him explaining the correct form and still got everything wrong😂
Impressive and also the Alex kant- he is super impressive. An expert.
Very well done. And by the way, CalisthenicMovement are exceptional in their training videos. Great to see that progress!
i was stuck on my pancake journey. but alex tip was it! "try to move your legs up and TO THE OUTSIDE"
i would love to see one of these videos for a nordic hamstring curl
I always appreciate your honesty
You're an everyman legend!!!!
You're ready for the press to handstand !
Superb content. Thank you sir
thank you
Still can’t do pancake but mega useful to see how to improve ☝️💪
The realest out there
he trying to high five the baby
I love to see climbers training flexibility too! There are so many "party tricks" out there with strength but it's better with mobility too!
I wish I could help this video go viral, just because of the reaction with your kid.
When someone admits straight up that their method isn't entirely backed by science the honesty immediately makes me trust them more. Ain't no way chiropractors would ever do that
That is so inspiring
He didn’t gain relative motion.
Instead, he learned to use compensatory mechanics to reorient his body.
Thanks for staying legit man!
i like how you collaborating with other RUclipsrs😆
getting the head down on day 4 is already super good. Im quite flexible for gym bro standards and i have room for one fist left between head and floor
The angle of your legs before and after is just as impressive, any kore you'd be hitting the splits
I find it 😂 you were waiting for your baby to give you a high-five (even if it was just a second. At 7:48).
Ok, geek! You’ve inspired me. @calisthenicmovement should thank you for another sale 😉
I like this dude
congrats!!!!!
FANTASTIC VIDEO ONCE AGAIN
Omg. Your day 1 pancake fold is my goal for the pancake hold.
Good job 😊
This guy ain't stiffy at all
thank for letting me know that you can indeed train flexibility, i always thought i was just born with stiff hamstrings
Came for a pancake fold, left with a biology lesson.
You’re already starting from a level of flexibility that’s better than most...
Wow well done!! I have to work on this for taekwondo. (And general health)
Well done! That was a helpful video
So how many sets per day for how much seconds? And how much resting time between????
fingers crossed for that handstand press up!!
The press handstand is not automatic after I achieve the pancake fold. There's still more that I need to work on to achieve it.
@@GeekClimber For sure! But I know you can get it!
Need more planche progression videos now. =)
