Your defensive flying is very good. However, when you have the initiative, like in the first half of the video, you seem to get impatient when you actually attack. You do textbook setups and then bin your kill shot by not giving enough lead. Still some great dog fighting, though! 👍
@@TheObnoxiousMrPug tbf, im still at newbie level in terms of attacking, but in defensive, you could say i had some studies after games after games of being shot down lol.
The a26 may that be a Swedish attack variant of the j26 mustang, which was a rag tag of mustangs that at least some of them landed in Sweden and then never left? Actually jingles... Happy New Year to you and all those commenters on here. But really, the Hurricane and Spitfire were armed with 8x.303 Browning machine guns and it wasn't until after the Battle of Britain was won that they ironed out the problems with the wing mounted Hispano-Suiza 20mm cannon. The MkIIB Hurricane had 12(!)x.303 Browning's (as did the MkIA Typhoon) but this didn't have the armour penetration power required to bring down the later German bombers. So they fitted 4x20mm cannon in the MkIIC Hurricane (and all later Hawker prop aircraft). The Spitfire Mk II got a 20mm cannon and 2x.303 machine guns in each wing. But it wasn't until the introduction of the "universal wing" on the Mk IX that there was the option to have 1x20mm and 4x.303 or 1x20mm and 1x.50 Browning or 2x20mm fitted. An excellent book on the Spitfire is "The Spitfire Story" by Alfred Price. Loads of info and photos, including the mock up for the 6x20mm armed version.

One of the other things to think about: some of those pilots were overpowered on the German side; By the end of the war, you either had a ridiculous record or you (probably) died
@@durhamdavesbg Both the Hurricane and the Spitfire were designed to carry an eight gun armament from the outset, the proposal for this superseded the original four gun armament before either aircrafts design had been formalised.
askcuallyyyy jangles the P400 is an airacobra variant, not a P40 variant (you did correct yourself later) German "kills" are so much higher relative to allied aces because, beyond the reasons you listed, they fucking lied through their teeth about kills (just like German tank "aces") the enemy team lost because that Mig3 pilot gave up and bailed out on the runway, meaning the hostile team had no remaining aircraft, which is why the ticket counter dropped so rapidly, not because the A36 didn't do his job ground pounding. they were winning on tickets until then
i've always bee na fan of the ki-43, from the early days where japanese ARB fought russia quite often. you didn't have much ammo, and could couldn't dive with the yaks, but if you interrupted a fight or got someone who thought that they could boom and zoom you repeatedly you'd usually win unless they had 2 GOOD yak pilots on you at the same time.
A Jingles video where he misreads the last enemy plane crashing and winning match as ground targets winning match, ah never change Jingles. Happy new Year as well good sir.
The German (and Soviet) kill tallies were also vastly inflated by the simple expedient of just lying Some tricks included "give the entire squadron's kills to one guy for propaganda purposes", "count kills by number of engines, so a 4 engine bomber counts as four kills" and also a general lack checking if kills were actually kills like what went on with the WAllies.
I blanked and could only think of the fighter based on the BF-109 the army used and the land based fighter the navy rolled out after all their pilots that could have done anything with it were dead or too shot up to fly.

"Your plane is massively undergunned with just those two piddly rifle spitters."
"Yeah, so anyway we ripped those out and put in two .50 cal browning copies instead..."
Jingles, blink seventeen times if the Snail has your family.
every KanColle player : recites a fckton of Japanese planes
Ngl, same could be said for me. I never knew the likes of the Shiden (N1K1) and the Reppu (A7M) until i played that game.
The year is 10191, Emperor Shaddam IV has placed censorship on Star Citizen for failing to release.
Actually Jingles, the A-36 at the end was not running bombs. He was running the option of More Gun.
I was thinking the icon looked like a remote control, but with your comment I realize it's actually gun pods, lol!
More war thunder vids are always welcome. May they keep coming in 2023
Nice to see low tier planes getting the spotlight in a War Thunder Video, still surprissed we haven't gotten a MiG-29 video yet, I recall there was quite an interesting story regarding Jingles and a MiG-29 ;)
When I read the book Blond Knight of Germany, about Eric Hartmann, I recall where he stated that victories for the Luftwaffe pilots had to be aerial, and witnessed. Not to mention they had to shoot down ten EA in order to achieve ace status. I may be wrong though.
You're not.
Yesssss, War Thunder Props
i feel like the ki-43 kinda illustrates how silly japanese procurement was, literally "i want the same thing navy has but i don't want to admit that by buying the aircraft so I'm gonna go through a whole design and development process to design what is functionally the same aircraft"
@The Mighty Jingles i just came from a nap, then i realized I GOT FEARURED!! Thank you Jingles!, its my first time ever being featured.
Edit: one rhing to also clarify bte, is that im not good yet. But i did watch a bunch of guides on defensive flying which is why you see me dodging those going to shoot at me.
Edit2: actually jingles, i was too focused on dogfighting those 4 that i never realized im still close to our Airfield xD
Edit3: aww jingles you make me flutter for saying its the best action engaging dogfight on recent memory.
@@lonemarkkingoftypos3722 Nice flying over all and if you keep studying like you have been, you'll be just as good on offense soon enough.
The a26 may that be a Swedish attack variant of the j26 mustang, which was a rag tag of mustangs that at least some of them landed in Sweden and then never left?
I think I read somewhere that there were a few s26 mustangs also, that would be mustangs modified for reconnaissance. One of those crashed, and I believe it has not been found.
Loads of info and photos, including the mock up for the 6x20mm armed version.
wait what's this, war thunder video, is this the loving kind jingles for the new year. ok ill shut up and go back too the salt mines, LOL. love you WT content.
If you are looking for any new upcoming games to play in this genre, you might be interested in Task Force Admiral, a WW2 Pacific carrier admiral sim.
Loving the more frequent war thunder stuff jingles! Love the WoT and WoWS videos don't get me wrong but I find WT more educational and entertaining with the rip roaring, heart pounding dogfights XD.
Also roll on 2321! Can't wait for the next annual WT video my leige.
Something about jingles playing war thunder is therapeutic
The higher axis kill counts also come from an overabundance of allied targets to shoot.
One of the other things to think about: some of those pilots were overpowered on the German side;
By the end of the war, you either had a ridiculous record or you (probably) died
Actually Jingles, lol, the early versions of the Spitfire and Hurricane had FOUR times the armament of this aircraft, 8x.303” (7.7mm) machine guns.
I think Jingles was referring to the pre-production work on those aircraft, as the 8-gun requirements came quite late in their development.
@@durhamdavesbg Both the Hurricane and the Spitfire were designed to carry an eight gun armament from the outset, the proposal for this superseded the original four gun armament before either aircrafts design had been formalised.
@@mrjockt If it wasn't clear, I was talking about during the design work.
The browning m2 is in service in Warhammer 40k.
P-400 was an export version of the P-39 AiraCobra for the British actually. After flying one, the British
refused the aircraft.
Gawd, that year went by really quickly.
askcuallyyyy jangles the P400 is an airacobra variant, not a P40 variant (you did correct yourself later)
German "kills" are so much higher relative to allied aces because, beyond the reasons you listed, they fucking lied through their teeth about kills (just like German tank "aces")
the enemy team lost because that Mig3 pilot gave up and bailed out on the runway, meaning the hostile team had no remaining aircraft, which is why the ticket counter dropped so rapidly, not because the A36 didn't do his job ground pounding. they were winning on tickets until then
Overclaiming kills was far from unique to the Germans.
i've always bee na fan of the ki-43, from the early days where japanese ARB fought russia quite often. you didn't have much ammo, and could couldn't dive with the yaks, but if you interrupted a fight or got someone who thought that they could boom and zoom you repeatedly you'd usually win unless they had 2 GOOD yak pilots on you at the same time.
Bravo for making more War thunder videos!!!! Much enjoyed them
I remember wishing I could fly the Ki-43 as a kid playing Combat Flight Simulator 2.
If Warthunder existed when I was child, I would've lost my shit.
These informative videos are what I miss most. Thank you sir.
A Jingles video where he misreads the last enemy plane crashing and winning match as ground targets winning match, ah never change Jingles.
Happy new Year as well good sir.
Bloody hell, those are some great sound effects. Well done to Gaijin on that front.
awww... it had 2 machine guns, while the spitfire and hurricane had twice that at 8.... Oh Jingles
I have traveled through many realities...
The Zero flew in them all.
Omg a warthunder video from jingles?
I'm in heaven!
We need more.
Last time a Salt miner was this early, the Mig-15 and Sabre were the top jets
Getting the "annual" War Thunder video over at the start of the year.
The German (and Soviet) kill tallies were also vastly inflated by the simple expedient of just lying
Some tricks included "give the entire squadron's kills to one guy for propaganda purposes", "count kills by number of engines, so a 4 engine bomber counts as four kills" and also a general lack checking if kills were actually kills like what went on with the WAllies.
Glad to see we made it to 2049, with Jingles annual War Thunder video!
Getting the yearly war thunder idea out of the way early I see
I blanked and could only think of the fighter based on the BF-109 the army used and the land based fighter the navy rolled out after all their pilots that could have done anything with it were dead or too shot up to fly.
The KI-43? That's a great plane. With the air belts that gets high explosive rounds, it's lethal against most aircraft. It's also broken as all hell in War Thunder. I consistently get at least 5 kills with one when I play Arcade battle
Finally a warthunder video.... we're having another christmass so soon...
7:09
Not gonna lie … I peed myself a little when that P400 went by.
Why would you think the A-36 had bombs? It clearly shows on the right that he has gunpods equipped, which should just be the obvious expectation for an A-36.
