  • Joshin Bachoux Sensei started zazen at the age of 30 and very quickly it became the most important thing in her life. Two years later she left for Japan with the firm decision to become ordained and live in a temple; she was lucky enough to be accepted at M° Moriyama's temple, in the middle of the mountains, a temple of practice living on alms. While she lived in Japan, Roshi sent her to California for 3 months to visit Soto Zen temple; and there she met Katagiri Roshi, who was good friends with her master. She was very impressed by his presence and his teachings. After several years, she received Dharma transmission from her M°, and he asked her to return to France to open a branch of his temple. She lived there for 20 years, and 7 years ago she passed it on to her disciple. Now she practices mainly on RUclips and with small groups for retreats.
