The 2001 Wimbledon final between these two are still the most thrilling and emotionally charged final I have seen. Two great sportsmen.
They are better then the next GEN players
Erik Vladimirov yes for sure
You have no idea son of a bitch
*than
Goran is definitely better than shittypass , manure , kockonov , and that german bloke with no stamina .
@@louiscyphre7023 LMAO good one
The ever-lovable Goran and the ever-classy Pat Rafter. Goran looks like he can return to the ATP tour and win a few matches. That forehand is better than ever before!
God, I miss those serve and volley players. Beautiful to watch!
And the Clooney look suits Goran!
Two legends...so happy goran got that slam in the end....rafter was always the gentleman... lovely to watch them able to play just for fun with not much pressure.
I was over the moon when Goran won Wimbledon in 2001. I cried & smiled so much my face hurt. But I really respected Pat Rafter after the match as well. He let Goran shine in the spotlight & was such a nice guy who had only nice things to say about the opponent who toasted him that I felt bad for his loss for a minute. I enjoy these matches where there's no competition, no opponent, just the pure enjoyment of the game.
Goran: Best serve I've ever seen. Impossible to read where it's going. Rafter: one of the best volley techniques ever (right up there w/ Edberg and Pat Cash). Both still hitting the cover off the ball, esp Goran. Impressive!! That forehand is nasty!
Man, Goran still hits the ball so darn well!
He is definitelly like wine. Good only as matured or fresh 😄😄.
seems to have improved LOL. in those days he wouldn't even last rallies involving more than 4 shots. here he's on clay!
I was at the 2001 Wimbledon final. The wild card. People’s Monday. What an unforgettable day!
Nice to see them enjoying each others company years after that famous final of 2001.
Friends before and after
Gotta love that serve and volley, old school
Jesus, Ivanisevic's return game, get him out on the ATP doubles circuit asap, he'll be top 100 no time.
Wow Goran actually improved a little bit and still moving great! And always nice to see Rafter playing!
still have it... both...
You give more highlights for an exhibition match than you do a real match.
cause this exibition match had higher quality than some next gen match where it's just all about aces...
Such a treat to see Goran again, his technique remains very inspiring.
I wish we could get more exhibition matches with our sports legends, such good vibes and great to see them having a laugh and sharing the bench at changeovers
Even both of them couldn't belive that they can pull some shots. 1991-2001 best era of tennis.
Wwwhat u serious🤣there is and will be no better ära than federer nadal djokovic obviuosly
Not in a million years
@@lukashelmhart6049
Because you didn't watch era in '90s. Were you even born?
@@MarioCindric yeah born in the 90,s but doesnt matter
You must be a hater of the three best players of all time so youblie to yourself🤦♂️
@@lukashelmhart6049
No hate kid, just I saw better tennis. Obviously you didn't.
Damn I thought this was gonna be like jello. I guess I should know better when you're that elite I guess you never lose it as long as your still vertical. Will never forget 01 Wimbledon. Only time I cried for the sport of tennis.
Two classy, excellent players! Fun to see them still getting around the court well.
These guys are amazing. Great players! Rafter and your serves & volleys on the grass, hard or clay courts. Great times!
Goran is better than most of the new age players. I’d like to see a Federer V. Goran match
Hahahaha are you serious?
@@NicolasNMI Are you Syrious?
Lmao give them back their speed and stamina around the court and these two can still beat next gen players they are that good lol
For me, the best Wimbledon final
4 sure With real fans in the stands instead the wealthy ones
AGREED!
@@mezstah that has been the more similar thing to a football match. exciting
These guys especially Goran can still strike a tennis ball. Probably better than most of the tour now haha
I watched this match live.
It's a pleasure to see them playing serve and volley, especially Pat: still my tennis hero!
And they are pretty fit too!
Rafter is 1972? i mean he has still an excellent sprint. he was my hero too. epic his semifinals againt agassi in wimbledon 2000
@@dellecapacitailcoraggiofis7536 and how to forget the 2001 wimbledon semi. Even better thanthe 2000 match
@@6182gianluca oh yes, i would like to rewatch , only in HD though.. here on youtube there are but too low definition its impossible to enjoy
These guys are in their late 40s yet they look like they could be top 20 players
So good to see you two great players play again...wow 💓💓💓
Goran has suddenly become fitter and stronger!! Well done
how good and spectacular was Pat Rafter ? his serve and volley was in the same discussion of Edberg and Mc Enroe!
Amazing tennis from Goran...very powerfull forehand
СТРОХОТЕН Е ГОРАН ОТ СПЛИТ!! ГОРЕ ГЛАВАТА, ЕДИНСТВЕН СИ!!❤❤❤
...only beacuse of patrick rafter.....i have now the same long hair like patrick rafter by the us open 1997 or 1998....really sexy guy in his earlier years:)
Amazing match
Amazing level of tennis
You'll probably find that most past champions still hit the ball better than the majority of the tour, that's called talent. It's only in terms of endurance over a season & general fitness/motivation why they can't still compete.
They would be top 10 on the wta tour for sure
OMG! They look like they can be top 20 even if they play on tour now. Quality as always 🙏
Oh flip I love Goran. Great player.
Same scene : with rafa and roger ten years later in new york??
WHat ? in ten years Roger will be on 32 slams and rafa will be winning his 22nd french open -
Louis Cyphre yeah, don’t forget the 42 Slams for Djokovic. 😂😂
Those two were in one of the best Grand Slam finals ever!!!
Enjoyable to watch those two great players.
Of all the guys from the 90’s that I used to watch Ivanisevic and Courier have aged the best. They look like they should still be on the tour.
Yep. Sampras really gave up all his fitness and as for mr kafelnikov. ..
Goran aged horribly, like spoilt milk.
Wow they're so good! I'd be happy.if I could play at 20% of their.level
With that forehand, Goran could demolish next gen
❤❤❤
They still have it going 😊
I think they'd do pretty well today lmao
@@-music2023 , also phisically it is a world of difference. Aging...
...if they trained for a bit.
Hold up
Its quite amazing how hard Ivanisevic still hits the ball.
Brilliant play better than the next Generation 👏🏽👏🏽
I find it hard to believe Rafter was a semifinalist at the French and Goran never made it past the quarters. Goran had great groundies and on his day could hit thru anyone and on any surface.
Two of the opponents in quarters were actual French open champs. Just bad luck. 1994 was a better chance perhaps
Rafter was more consistent
2 great people
Did Goran improve after retirement?
I did not expect them to still play so well.
WOW.
I need to watch more serve and volley
They have so good command 💓💓👏👏
some of the shots really surprised me.. holy shit they can smack the ball well
Pat rafter Forever quanto ci manchi con lui se ne è andata la generazione dei servizi and volley Pat sempre nel cuore
I bawled my eyes out when Rafter lost in the 2001 final. Epic game
Daaamn they really still got it big
i thought goran was all about the serve, but now i see he can also play tennis 👌
much tougher to serve and volley as we get older
two well friends. wimbledon 2001 grand final.😀😀
Que bien Goran podría entrenar y pedir alguna invitación a un torneo ATP.
These two were good players they had courts/ stadiums named after them! What are they going to for Federer Djokovic Nadal Murray when they eventually retire! Sampras Agassi deserve something as well! America did not really appreciate it seems!!
Good to see that neither of them has let themselves go like some other former players...looking at you Lendl.
To be fair Ivan has a terrible back these days. I think he couldn't even golf for a time because it was causing him so much trouble.
They have better volley play than players nowdays, maybe except Fed.
Rafter should have won way more slams. He got that shoulder injury and quit early. Ashame
No. He was never equalling edberg who had better returns passes and an overall more effective serve whereas rafters could let him down at times. And edberg himself had injuries and burned out early. I did enjoy rafters game and wished he won his first Wimbledon final but Sampras was on that record breaking mission
@@martinhudecek8886 Who is even talking about Edberg? And what does he have to do with Rafter?
@@Romans8-9 ok. I thought edberg gave Sampras similar problems to edberg but had less overall game if similar athleticism. I dispute it was just injury that got in the way of more slams. He was a bit more mentally suspect in finals but was a great competitor and a great sport. The Stefan edberg sportsmanship award went to rafter multiple times which is a passing coincidence but worth pointing out. And Ivanisevic himself is underrated and also has injury problems. Rafter may have scored some wins over edberg but had a poor head to head before edberg retired. On the other hand ivanisevic was a tough rival for both Becker and edberg, and a very competent clay courter on his day.
Lastly other posters bring up other players, even from todays generation and not the peers of these two great attacking players.
Hope I’ve answered your questions. If you are a Becker fan, trust me I’m gutted about the court he couldn’t leave as a winning participant this year.
Goran is just on 🔥🔥🔥
Goran, gonna love your comeback victory over Alex Zverev!
2 legends 👊
Ivanisevic looks so badass
what would the score be: Goran-alex Zverev 2019?
Now let’s see them on the seniors tour
They still have it. Probably the wrong surface for this match up though.
How old are they? They are looking so damn hot.
R Marsello probably between 46 and 49.
@@slashtrio beautiful ❤
Great !!!! Goran Ivanisevic !

Rafters serve and volley when in his prime was best in game
Arguably so but Sampras could come up with some amazing stuff based on athleticism and some unusual genetic gifts
Dam rafter aged a lot....he was really good looking back in the day.
Goran aged worse! 60 year old he looks, but he was about 50 nearly here, at least Rafter don't have a head full of grey hair- also, Rafter never recovered from that Wimbledon loss, you can tell, he was tight as a drum, had he won Wimbledon in 2001, he would have dismantled Goran in any exhibition match.
They are both handsome men, actually.
@@pauljohnson6019 you sound bitter over a close loss for rafter. He still played quite well at times in 2001 but had to retire because of injury. And he is clearly more out of shape here.
@@pauljohnson6019 That has nothing to do with it. Goran coached Cilic and Djokovic, so he is still hitting the ball frequently with top pros, its quite obvious Rafter barely plays anymore.
Legends
Time is going by way too fast
Still better volleyer than a lot of pros
Awesome!!!
It’s depressing when you see former players playing to a level a thousand times better yourself when they’re just literally just messing on court ...oh to have that ability!
Both had horrible injuries though
ivanisevic igra ko profi :)))
C'est génial❤ quelle technique chez tous les deux...quel bruit de raquettes ! mais le public ne joue pas le jeu..quels gens constipés..😊😁😉
I think they could still win some matches lol, maybe not in the atp tour but surely some matches on the challenger tour.
No way. The Level on the Challenger Tour is not that far away from the atp Level.
Most Wta players wouldn’t enjoy their serve and volley games but sadly it wouldn’t be allowed to happen
A next gen player could nevere defete a older players who play serve and voley
Why they play on gravel, they both hated gravel 🤣
Goran played really good, makes you wonder if he got in shape how he would fare at a grass tournament. He still got one of the best services, power in his forehand. And on fast courts he really could do well with serve volley.
Better on joints
The Goran forehand is much better than any next generation player. Zverev has been a joke as of late.
If Croatia was like the us of a and had many bigger events goran would be better remembered as he was great at home. I don’t think his forehand is the consistent weapon like so many others but when on it is a lovely shot to see
Goran looks better now
胸熱。。練習量の差ですね。2人ともカッコイイ。
2001 Wimbledon rafter should've won it. 🙄
Watch set 4 and tell me that goran didn’t half explode thanks to dodgy calls and a semi partisan crowd to help unsettle him. And rafter was very close to losing his serve before goran did. Yes set 5 had chances… for both guys. It’s about taking your chance and rafter just didn’t have the slice serve up his sleeve enough. Another surface like melbournes or queens and I would agree he is the definitive favourite. Clay is perhaps the closest to 50-50
Pat doesn't age!
