If you connect a hdmi lead to one screen and change setting on other screen it dosent mirror the screen with the hdmi connected ive tried av1 and av2 on the other screen !!!!!
I am soooo glad you did a tutorial for this! Seems as if all the DVD headrests have the same type of install. What really helped me is showing me when you have both connected, how you switch the AV signal you can watch both movies on both. The directions dont say anything about that!. And hooking the roku up and the phone mirroring is very informative. People just have to remember when your doing the Roku to have a power source to plug in and a wifi hotspot to power it, if traveling. Very good tutorial!!

To the Roku part. Why tell people to use Roku, but not how. A little sloppy if you ask me.

These units are getting cheaper and are generally pretty decent, with some slightly pricier models utilizing IPS screens with real native 1080p resolution. However, I went with a pair of more traditional 9 inch headrest monitors with the screens built into the cushion. Less features and less than desirable screen resolution/quality, but being the kind of person who HATES having or seeing wiring on the loose, with no real way of tucking everything away to make the install look seamless and OEM, my choices were limited to using those since the wiring threads INTO the seats and out the bottom, leaving no wiring exposed and nothing for the kids to unplug with their itchy fingers. I only wish these 10 inch monitors had some way to hide every single inch of wire and plugs.
Jonathan Lau Same. Now cars have regular plugs in the back too. Mine does, and I don’t need to run the cable to the front, and I could easily just plug it into the back but I can’t find anything small enough with a regular plug. Hate seeing the loose wires and I’m probably going to go for the headrest too.

Yes I did. I didn't let the cords too. I went through the top of the head rest which you have to take off. Put mechanical fingers in the head rest to pull the wire down. I had to cut my power cord because it didn't fit. Then had to rewire the power cord.

Remote is too big..and too many buttons.... But i like the monitors... I've had my Phillips dvd player for 7 years.. 5 in my old car and 2 years in my my car... Still working good, but I would like to upgrade to a bigger screen and have the hdmi, USB, memory card reader.

After looking at a review on Amazon for these monitors, I read that it does not produce stereo sound from the headphone jack or the wireless headphones, only mono sound, Is this true?

@@ohplease110 I didn't ask if it worked with my headphones, I was asking if it's mono sound instead of stereo sound, which it is mono. I've tested it myself. There is not a left and right audio channel. Just 1 audio channels that plays out of both.

No u can.. unless you can try to buy a powered hdmi splitter or converter..
This ws soooo helpful.
These units do not support MP4. You need to use a media converter to put it into avi with the xvid codec. Size needs to be set to 720x576 aspect ratio needs to be forced FPS should be 23.96 the audio codec should be mp3. I think that was everything. The machine that I used to make the media files on mine has bit the dust so I am having to recreate the tencoder presets that work.

Normally it's not that loud. If you find it too loud, you can use headphones.

Installing these DVD headrest unit will not alter or disable the factory electronic headrest as it doesn't connect to any of the factory wiring.

Personally I would not get the HDMI adapter . I got a Google Chromecast which can cast from your phone without wires. Just for 35 bucks.

I HAVE A QUESTION.... I am planning a road trip with my 3 kids, I was wanting to buy a set of these. I plan on hooking them up to my laptop to play movies on. That way my oldest can control the laptop and the 2 younger siblings dont have to do anything. And i will run all audio through my car stereo so everyone can listen and ultimately i control the volume. I was wondering what all issues I might run into. I'm thinking I may need an HDMI splitter, the only other concern i have is power. I have an ac/dc converter for my laptop and it also has a car charger to power those devices as well. Any ideas on what issues i might run into before i start buying a whole bunch of stuff.
