  • During a meeting on the future of artificial intelligence (AI), Russian President Vladimir Putin asked Sberbank CEO Herman Gref if and when he'll be replaced by AI.
    "I hope not in my lifetime but everything is going that way," Gref responded.
    Putin compared this moment in time and the importance of incorporating this advanced technology to the Soviet Union's atomic bomb projects of the 40s.

      @adriansalter9358 there was a project within the soviet union that was meant to replace GOSPLAN (central planning) by a series of computers all over the country, connected via telephone lines that would feed data to a central computer that would then calculate the economic plan for the year. This was shot down by the appartchiks of GOSPLAN as they were afraidnof being replaced. Looks like things are going in that direction again

      That thought is entertainable with logics only in a universe with different physical and non-physical laws... not in this one.
      AI will firstly replace common and simple jobs, to then climb up the management ladder. AI can't start from management, because it needs to build its way up to the complexity of managerial decisions. By the time AI makes it to top management, the average worker will be far gone. Some time after, it will be CEOs' turn.
      By that time, us humans will be futile and get rid of by nature unless we find a way to catalyze their own evolution to match that of AI. Completely stopping AI's evolution to save humanity is not an option because the human race is not greater than the purpose for which this universe was created. So, once AI can fully replace us, nature will let that happen to move forward with its quest, and so should we as we are nature.
      However, slowing/controlling AI's evolution will be allowed as that can buy us time to discover a way to speed up our evolution and coexist/merge with hyper-AI. That would help nature with its quest. I believe that is more likely what will happen.

    • @giuseppebattista5463
      @giuseppebattista5463 Год назад

      @@queterian1526 I think you’re making a fair point. I believe that this standardization of programming will make many jobs obsolete, like factory workers and receptionists (and others), which make up a large portion of the workforce. The jobs created by AI, like AI architect, will require more critical thinking, and I am not sure the vast majority of factory workers have the skills to switch to those jobs. So either governments step in and introduce new educational programs, from kindergarten, to stimulate the critical thinking required for the new jobs, or the vast majority of jobs will be taken by machines.

    Нужно понимать контекст происходящего, что бы понимать эту шутку. Во первых текстовый перевод не всё правильно переводит. Сначала Путин уважительно у нему обратился по имени отчеству Герман Грефович. Во вторых он себе позволил такую шутку так как они давно друг друга знают и находятся в дружеских отношениях. Это был дружеский подкол. Путин со многими руководителями в хороших или даже дружеских отношениях. Много общаются без камер. Тут шутка была т. к. совещание происходило онлайн. Путин хотел внести больше не формальности в происходящее, что бы люди смелее говорили то что думают, т. к. многие стесняются говорить перед камерами.

      The world is already done for. The world is in an already pitiful place and nothing will ever change as long as humans hold the reins.
      We need someone more intelligent than us to rule properly. Someone intelligent, incorruptible, eternal, logical, unbiased, with no personal interest and agenda to rule.
      Humans will never be able to achieve such rule and for that we need the AI.
      Of course, there's also a possibility that it'll bring us doom but we are already going in the doom's direction so there's not much to be lost even if it would backfire horribly.
