Just a reminder - although this video was accurate when released - the legislation has since changed for BSAU145e (September 2021). Screw fixings are no longer advised (but permitted), however if screws are used they must be positioned outside of the readable area, so no longer allowed through or between the characters etc.
Never drill a plate through the front face as it pushes the backing away and allows damp in. So....always drill from the back through to the face. Good video though.
Great video guys - would also suggest either using a black cover for the screw going through the number or the use of a permanent black marker to prevent mis-read of number plate.... there's some picky coppers' out there :o)

Should have drilled the holes either side of the reg, looks so bad white cap on black, cowboy job
Gary's got a garage full of stetsons where he used to keep his black screw caps.
But he was demonstrating using the existing holes method. Still should have used a black cover on the right screw tho

How would u drill into the bumper of the vehicle if there are no holes or u want to make new holes
what if the screw head is damaged. how do you get it off then?
