I just did this install on my 04 fatboy. I have a battery tender USB port I installed, just ran the USB for the quad lock to it and will use the power button on the wireless charger for now. I need to get one of the ball mounts, found that the normal handlebar mount doesn't do very well with getting a good angle.
@@DrHarley I ended up going back through and wiring mine up to the headlight instead of running it to the USB charger under the seat. I found that I didn't remember to turn it off after getting off the bike and didn't want to risk that slow trickle drain killing the battery.
that sure beats the rubber band mounts as I refer to them. Didn't know they had 3M backed lock to fit to your existing phone case... I thought I would have to buy a new case but guess not. I may look at going with the Quad Lock system. Don't need the charging system but I like the mount!!

I went with the perch mount, vibration dampener and wired it to the accessory switch on the RK's Nacelle. Good video.

That's how I ended up witlring mine. To the headlight. This way when the bike is off, there is no draw on the battery.
I powered mine to the headlight. That way, when the bike is off, so is the charger. Bike on, and the charger is on.
been thinking about the quad lock just havent pulled the trigger yet, good information 👍
After having it in West Virginia, I could not be happier with this setup.

I can tell you that. All the riding we did in West Virginia and the quad lock did very well.
I didn't know about softtails but touring bikes heated grip plug is hot. Where did you tap it into?
I ended up taping into the headlight as well.
