- This time we go into one of the last 4 occupied tower blocks in the Gorbals these blocks were built in 1958 so they are one of Glasgow's first tower blocks to be over 10 floors high and they are the weirdest towers I have ever seen as each floor is on different sides of the tower and at different heights plus each floor has a whopping 14 flats! So Enjoy Giggity

I was just a cross the road today at my granny's in Matheson teris. I always thought it was normal and some landings didn't have windows but that is extremely odd now I know what it's like
Havnt seen to much of this young fella. But fair play to you dude what I have seen. You should pursue a career in tower block architecture. You’re just what the industry needs. I’m sure you have new ideas etc etc.
Another giggty vid. Very unusual layout every flat covers 3 floors apart from first landing. 🙄👍
I must admit The Actual interior of the 11 Waddell court looks really brilliant inside.
Well done to JT 🎉
I used to stay in Motherwell and Wishaw as a kid, and remember seeing these blocks on the side of the M74 whenever we went into Glasgow. I’m not sure what I was expecting exactly, but I never thought the layout would be… that 😅
Have you ever thought about checking out the Woodside flats north of the M8? I forgot what the buildings were called at first but they’re Torridon Court, Lorne Court, and Katrine Court, they’ve always been very architecturally striking to me.
Hahaha - the famous "scissor section" design which makes the Hutchie B high flats unique in Glasgow. It is very common in London tower blocks. There are only five landings and each flat is accessed from a small staircase that goes up or down . The benefit is every flat has windows on both the front and back of the building. Plus it makes the lift installation a lot simpler and cheaper as you only need a landing every three floors.
My step gran lived in them but she died in 1981 and I now have only sketchy memories being taken there as an infant. I do remember all the corridors originally had varnished wood panelling (very typical of a Sir Robert Matthew designed building that was his way of softening Brutalist buildings), I see it has all been painted over now. Very different from how I remember it.
Nice
Why did you not post for a month
I didn't know what to film and I was busy preparing for my driving test plus I was also busy hanging out with my mates so I didn't really have any time on my hands for videos
What will your next video be
These 4 blocks have 16 floors in total
Ok
12 flats - the doors at each end seperate a single flat with 2 doors - 1 door on each side of the double doors heading towards the stairs - there are 78 flats - 12 on level 2 to 6 and 6 on floor 1 - FYI -i lived in 83 and 39 growing up
Grew up in 39 Waddell court Aswell flat 9
