- 10 years ago Planet Earth changed our view of the world. Now we take you closer than ever before. This is life in all its wonder. This is Planet Earth II.
A decade ago, the landmark television series Planet Earth redefined natural history filmmaking, giving us the ultimate portrait of life on Earth. Planet Earth II, narrated by Sir David Attenborough, will reveal our planet from a completely new perspective, using significant advances in both filming technology and our understanding of the natural world.
And if you are not excited enough already it features an original score by legendary composer Hans Zimmer.
A BBC Studios Natural History Unit production, co-produced with BBC America, ZDF, Tencent and France Télévisions.

"...narrated by Sir David Attenborough.."
that's all I need to know!
yessssssssssssssssssssss
photographer85 true hahahaha
"...original score by legendary composer Hans Zimmer."
IDK, that's pretty awesome too.
composed by Hanz Zimmer
Oh that's the first guy? perfect, I would be disappointed if it wasn't him.
Hans Zimmer absolutely NAILED the music. Wow.
I just searched up the video to get the music.. absolutely divine sounds...
Zimmer is simply divine
Any trailer that can get me teary-eyed over a damn plague of locusts is brilliant - and that's largely down to the music.
@@stephenpastena8583 Those are not locusts dude, those are birds . In episode 6. The music is killing it.
lmao now I'm here from your osrs version of this. And yes Zimmer absolutely nailed it
5 years after this series, I still view this trailer as a work of art!
Alot of people take these camera angles and shots for granted.
There needs to be a documentary about camera men
The Chiefs I aspire to do this someday, truly amazing and the dedication it must take is staggering. They probably wait weeks for an opportunity.
There has been a few times on BBC, they usually show short pieces on the lengths they went to to get some of the shots at the end of the episodes. There was a bunch of old BBC Africa based big cat series and shows a decade ago or so, some of those were about the film makers
Yup... Some takes weeks or even months to get that rare shot...
So?
This just really really made me miss the old discovery channel.
I would watch and learn so much as a kid and now it's just riddled with reality TV.
Agreed 150%, what a waste.
This a BBC production
"Co-produced with BBC America, ZDF, Tencent and France Télévisions."
@blue boy yes, still a bbc production lol
He knows, he's just reminiscing about how the Discovery Channel used to be about education and appreciation of the world around us, rather than poorly scripted reality shows about bike shops and blowing stuff up (as much as I love Mythbusters, this is totally their fault). He wasn't saying that Discovery did this, just that it used to do stuff like this.
It's like we are just a guest, this beauty don't belong to us.
but there was once a time we belonged to the beauty

From goosebumps to tears, no one couldve ever given nature a symphony better than Hans Zimmer!
Understatement!
Goosebumps and tears, every time! Hans Zimmer and all the photographers are geniuses.
LIterally bought a 4k TV just for this show...
Which TV model?! I need to prepare.
Doing the same
I am soooooo thinking about doing the same thing
If they were super smart, they'd shoot this in 8k.. future proofing for awhile :P
That's the spirit !
How did they get those shots? The placement, the timing. It's nothing short of extraordinary. Honestly, they must be on the good side of cinema Jesus. I can't wait.
EdoDave Daniel the camera men seriously dont get enough credit
drone !
EdoDave Daniel 10 years mate
when making the original series there were a couple instances where the camera teams would stake out certain spots for weeks to try and catch a certain moment. the"behind the scenes" for the show is very interesting
Breathtaking
I come back to this trailer every once in a while. Always leave with chills and this time, tears in my eyes. I love this planet and I'm so thankful this crew and Hans Zimmer captured these scenes and emotions so well.
Same.
Me too. Nature is so incredibly beautiful.
Me too - chills.
Hans Zimmer is legendary, there will never be another one of him
Absolutely

This is so inspirational. It makes my eyes tear up.
Me too!
Would it also tear you up to know we are also the ones tearing up all that beauty down ?
*****, yes, but it a bad way. :(

it would be my dream job to be a field researcher for BBC Earth, nat geo or discovery.
Nice try there, but they r not gonna hire u only for comment that
he did say dream....soooo......
cbatus you must be fun at parties
Nat Geo or Discovery? That's like putting Real Madrid (BBC) in with Leeds and Birmingham.
cbatus and you probably won’t get a well off job since you don’t know how to use proper grammar.
this series is literally the reason as to why i’m planning on studying zoology. i’ve always had a deep love and respect for animals but this just made it even stronger. i cant wait to learn more about these beautiful creatures.

Such a amazing planet, that none of us deserve
Joetuss you got it right...
Amazingly horrifying if you're a wild animal.
David Attenbourgh kind of deserves it
sanaaalexis By your logic, abusive parents must deserve their kids, otherwise the kids would have never been born to them? existing doesn't entitle us to destroy nature. We don't live harmoniously with nature. We're the only creatures that don't give back to the planet.
Jack Vue I love people, i hate greed...and that's the problem between humans and nature.
Could this be the best trailer in the HISTORY of natural history documentaries? 😍🦄🐟🐥🐗🦂🎥
Yes it is. (Can confirm, big documentery viewer))
Don't know about you guys but this is the best trailer ever. Period.
Human Planet's trailer is pretty epic too.
Please someone tell me I’m not the only who cried watching this
You are the only one
He is absolutely not alone

Every time I watch this I end up in tears. Masterpiece by Hans Zimmer.
All the animals looking epic with the sweeping music, and then random bear scratching its butt.
This bear could be me
Can we please give Nobel prizi to the guys behind the camera? This is what I call cinematography masterpiece
It's called the BBC Natural History Unit.
That what you give Emmy's for isn't it?. That's nothing to the with Mr Alfred.
"guys" can be generic, at least in American English -- maybe in British English too
Yes, it is. It's pretty much gender neutral in most circumstances.
Drones.
I'm normally not into documentaries or wildlife at all. But this series has managed to capture my breath! The cinematography is simply out of this world. Breathtaking views! The way the camera moves with their movement, the way it captures them in their daily life, it feels like you are there to witness it. And the soundtrack by Hans Zimmer is spell-bounding. This, this is a piece of art!
It's all fake videos made with special effects and packed woke communist bbc propaganda. Don't be a sheep.
@@presidentkang1986 why hate?
7 years later. This is the best video to ever hit RUclips. It’s that emotion of wonder and hope for the earth. The amazing living creatures we have on our planet with this top class soundtrack. Powerful stuff.
I've seriously watched this AT LEAST 100 times. Easily the dopest trailer in history.

I think I've watched it everyday and more since it loaded and I get goosebumps everytime! It is epic in every way!
I wish David Attenborough had a chance to live forever if it was his choice. He could do so much more amazing things, that he can't do in a one lifetime. Most of us are just wasting our precious time here, Attenborough should inspire us all. He has never stopped working and he is freaking 90 years old !!
And I believe I don't have to say a single word about Hans :)
Also all the cameramen/women. They deserve long life.
Of course... I agree... all of his great team deserve that. :)
Rider i agree 😜❤❤
I want to be a cameraman that's films all this stuff
whoever disliked it you should thrown out of food chain.....This is epic, nature dont obey human laws. This is marvelous

I watched Planet Earth live with the Prague philharmonic orchestra at the Wembley high on mushrooms and immediately sobbed when they showed this trailer. I was (and still am!) completely awestruck at the footage, the music, and these creatures we share this Earth with. This planet is nothing short of magical and it's a truly a privilege to be alive today and be able to witness this documentary. Thank you to everyone who created this masterpiece. I will never not cry at this now.
I'm so jealous, it must of been amazing
can't let the homies know I'm hyped about this!!
yea u can bro let everyone know you love the earth

We humans tend to forget that we share this planet. Earth may be our home but it also belongs to the mighty Komodo dragon, the beautiful stallion, the majestic falcon, and even the smallest of mice. I love that this trailer takes the time to show you how wonderful each creature truly is. It just reminds me that all life is precious. No matter how small.
The flute part gives me chills.
Please let this be narrated by Sir David Attenborough
It is.
I was just about to say the same thing. Nature documentaries will never be the same when he passes.
It just wouldn't be the same without sir David Attenborough.
read the the information under the video.
Hopefully we'll be able to hear him over Hans Zimmer...
Hans Zimmer is the perfect choice for soundtrack
Anuj Kumar
Its weird, because I didnt even know he was one of the composers, until I checked today.
I saw episode 1 & 2, and throughout, I recognised how much like Hans Zimmer's work it seemed. I was partly unsurprised when I discovered he was part of production
The man is a genius. This whole show is magnificent. I usually find documentaries rather pretentious, but this show is truely spectacular. Best piece of Television I've seen on wildlife
His new composition for blue planet is something else
It's normal that I always cry while watching it?
it's necessary!!
Especially when realizing how beautiful nature is & realizing that we’re part of a beautiful planet
Every now and then I come back and watch this. It is utterly beautiful. Absolutly stunning in every way.
Nobody has ever shown me the grandeur of our world as you have shown me. I almost cried. Thank You BBC.
I rarely cry at a video but when I saw this in my feed I grabbed the tissues. I saw the first movie when I was eight years old and have always loved and marveled at the sheer amount of species we live among on this tiny cosmic speck.
Also Hans Zimmer is my favorite composer so this will be my favorite movie of 2017 by far.

Hans Zimmer is the only musician whose background scores you can feel. It's not just something that plays in the background. It enriches what your eyes see.
Highly over-rated IMO.
Your face is highly overrated.
The only one? I doubt it.
Joanor Alazaris I doubted it right after I commented. I am from India and up here there is A.R. Rehman. You might know him from Slumdog. Though it got an Oscar Slumdog was a mediocre work of him IMO. There are some breathtaking music he made. But his music doesn't work as Zimmer. Zimmer the 4th dimension of the movie. He makes it feel alive.
MrYoumitube Well that's your opinion. Who is your favourite? Someone else might say he is overrated. It's all about tastes.
Why did that make me cry?
Elliss Dee because it's powerful
emotive music and moments of intense and beautiful nature I guess :) something worth preserving
Hans Zimmer is amazing. (Guy who made the soundtrack)
because this planet is truly a beautiful place
Hanz Zimmer, that's why.
I can only watch these episodes in small pieces. I find the beauty of it all, overwhelming.

The scene where the lions try to hunt the giraffe is absolutely incredible.
No one does it better than BBC Earth and Sir David Attenborough. The camera work is just out of this world. I can't wait for this!
I agree but I can't say I like the music. It sounds like it's trying to be uplifting and inspirational but is somehow depressing. Listen to the intro music for the old series "Wild America" and you'll hear what good music sounds like.
Also, it looks like the cinemetographers went with some gritty drab color tints for some of it like they often do in hollywood shows like Friday Night Lights (about football in a poor rural texas town where no one has anything else going for them), or shows about hopeless locations like the ghetto.
You're entitled to your opinions Max. Just know that I don't share them.
Another example of a nature film that has music that is far far better than this is in the The Otters of Yellowstone (full film avail free on youtube). That film gets everything right: music, photography, camera work, beauty, excitement, interesting scenes etc.
I saw the otter show and I agree it was great. I haven't seen any of Planet Earth 2 yet, so I can't comment on the music. This is just a trailer.

I love Planet Earth and BBC. I currently work at a vet and I'm in the process of getting back into school to become a conservation biologist. I used to think that it wasn't worth it because of the destruction that man has brought to the natural world but this TV series has inspired me so much and reminds me never to give up on my dream of being a field researcher. I can't wait to get out there and start studying and saving wildlife. It is my greatest passion.

U mad bro? I wouldn't be out in the woods where I can see real animals without those virtual pokemon, so maybe instead of railing against a video game you should rejoice that more people are getting outdoors and seeing some of the natural world.
