Omg the accuracy of the Equipment just wowed me, I’m not a nurse but I did an internship in the hospital once, and every single nurse had these pens with the different colors, like the same one! I could even take mine home after finishing the internship, I still have ‘em :)
I’m actually one of those nurses. I work in a Cardiac ICU.. and for me, it helps to listen and not write everything down.. I prefer to be able to speak with physicians and NPs without having to involve my paper. Sometimes it looks incompetent.. 🤷🏽♀️ no shade to anyone else, but it helps me to listen and then look Through the chart afterwards. But I do write down somethings.. ❤️
Sending this to my mom, who was an RN and is now back in school for more specialized nursing training! I’ll let y’all know how it goes! UPDATE: She said, quote, “And I’ve given reports to all of them.”
@@Blessed7doc She said if she had to pick one that she embodied the most, then it would be the passive aggressive one because she dealt with a lot of lazy nurses. But I meant that she delivered reports to all of them. (I’ll edit that so it’s more clear ;))

Do you have one for nurses who find a way to be "busy" all shift but never actually work, then give reports like they are super involved? Years ago I worked as a Psych Tech on an adult patient ward that was unexpectedly opened out of necessity. We were all thrown in together and did our best but I was new and when I would chart I was very detailed. I took my responsibility seriously and genuinely wanted to help the patients get better. I found out later that the Charge Nurse was one foot out the door to retirement and resented the move so she refused to come out of the station and talk to the patients or gauge the atmosphere on the Unit. Instead, she was passing my notes off as hers to the Psychiatrist and other shifts! She even had the nerve once to compliment me on my note taking during an evaluation. She eventually left when she allowed a patient to escape because she wasn't paying attention and they left through an unlocked door. (We got them back a couple hours later.)
Have to totally agree with comments below; nurse and NP for last 35 years; all in acute care; seen all of these folks. Is your nurse gig your main job, or your comedy gig? You are great at both I am guessing. Thanks for the smiles, and the remembering.
I’m the chill one, hands down. I come in 30 minutes early on my own time and read all the provider notes from admission to present, review latest labs and imaging, glance through the flow sheet to get a sense of their vital trends, and even take a few minutes to stand at the doorway and just take the room in. I work in a very high acuity Neuro Trauma ICU. You know… the kind with a patient that is a vented poly trauma, on CRRT, log roll precautions, EVD in place, Bucks traction and 10 pumps running. By the time I’m getting report I just say, “I’m good, just give me some highlights that aren’t in the chart and maybe some family dynamics. Go home… you’ve had a long shift and you did a great job. I studied the chart already.”
Blake hun, you are SUPER FUNNY AND SPOT ON in this video. So many of our peers are like this but still love them.. Thank you for the laughs, keep it up! ;)
And then you get us ER folks where it’s literally “anyone dying right now? Alright, go ahead and get out of here before someone starts, I got ‘em”
The passive aggressive one is also always the first one to make excuses as to why they themselves didn’t get something done.

I am more than often the impatient one.
I actually like dealing with passive aggressive people. I have nerve damage in my face so i rarely emote at all and when people get all passive aggressive and you just act like nothing is out of the ordinary they either get increasingly pissy until they're overreacting (in which case you look cool and they look unstable) or they settle down and start acting normal.
Nurse Blake you are hilarious! I retired after 40 years and I can relate someone I’ve known and worked with to each of your scenarios. Too funny! Thanks for the laugh!
Omg the accuracy of the Equipment just wowed me, I’m not a nurse but I did an internship in the hospital once, and every single nurse had these pens with the different colors, like the same one! I could even take mine home after finishing the internship, I still have ‘em :)
I definitely want to be a chill one.
Nurses who come in on their Monday with brand new patients and don’t write anything down and just listen to report make me sooooo nervous
I’m actually one of those nurses. I work in a Cardiac ICU.. and for me, it helps to listen and not write everything down.. I prefer to be able to speak with physicians and NPs without having to involve my paper. Sometimes it looks incompetent.. 🤷🏽♀️ no shade to anyone else, but it helps me to listen and then look
Through the chart afterwards. But I do write down somethings.. ❤️
I don’t write anything down. To be fair, I work in psych and we get the same types of patients.
Yes
Why does it make you nervous?
OMG, LMBO😂😂😂
Lmao! I’m the chill one 11yrs in hahaha!
Sending this to my mom, who was an RN and is now back in school for more specialized nursing training! I’ll let y’all know how it goes!
UPDATE: She said, quote, “And I’ve given reports to all of them.”
Which one is she?.
@@Blessed7doc She said if she had to pick one that she embodied the most, then it would be the passive aggressive one because she dealt with a lot of lazy nurses. But I meant that she delivered reports to all of them. (I’ll edit that so it’s more clear ;))
@@flannelsmurf8579 I'm young & I understand your mom a lot. I don't have a lot of work experience. But in this short time I met a lot of lazy nurses - sadly. Especially because I asked (as a new nurse without experience) too many important questions that they couldn't answer.
My mom is an RN also! I’m sending this to her😂!
Totally the chill one and the distracted one!
OMG! THATS WILD.
Only once I went for a day shift and wasn’t on the schedule lol😂
I am in the teaching profession and I swear there is every one of these at teacher meetings lol
K you have true comedy talent you are hilarioussss!!!!!!!!!
As a second year ADN student, these are so accurate. I laughed my head off😂😂 your videos are so funny and more relatable to me as time goes on!

Lol totally relate! Especially “The Impatient one” when you’re a new grad and a newbie on the unit & you’re trying to give the best report 😂

I'm usually the chill one just because my give a damn has been busted. Blake you are so adorable dancing 😂😁

@@shadowcastprime2100 yes I was 19 when I graduated nursing school and now 66 and still working part time. 👍
@@loribella5763 That's great I'm going to be 23 when I graduate. Lol. I hope to be able to do nursing for many years. What do you specialize in?
I'm crying laughing 😂 encountered all of these hahaha
Love you Blake 😆 I'm the late, sometimes confused, question asker or distracted one lol
ily too!!
Have to totally agree with comments below; nurse and NP for last 35 years; all in acute care; seen all of these folks. Is your nurse gig your main job, or your comedy gig? You are great at both I am guessing. Thanks for the smiles, and the remembering.
im the late, confused (sometimes distracted) question asker! 😂 clearly im a hot mess!!! love this video!!! ❤❤❤
You are an angel for my mental health! Thank you boo bunny bear! keep posting videos!
I'm a combo of chill and impatient😂
PS: I have worked with 95% of the LATE ones 🙄 I’m like “ damn can you EVER GET HERE ON TIME?! 😂🤣
😅😅That person is me unfortunately
Facts I'm always early for my relief it is common courtesy to be prepared
Guilty. 🙋🏾♀️I'm trying to get a lot better though.
its a real struggle. my colleague says i struggle in the 3rd and 4th dimensions
😂😂😂😂
Blake hun, you are SUPER FUNNY AND SPOT ON in this video. So many of our peers are like this but still love them.. Thank you for the laughs, keep it up! ;)
Passive aggressive....the worst....I know....why you ask..25 years of practicing..yes....💗
Oh my goodness so hilarious you NAILED IT SO ACCURATE
OMG that is so true! I am a nurse and have dealt with all those types.
