- After yesterdays positive results, and a bit of a think....I decided to upgrade my bin to a taller/deeper style, and add wooden planks to suspend and orient the material.
In this quick video, I'll give a quick update to the copper etching process.

Did you switch to copper sulfate?
nice!
do you know if this only works on copper?
the setting may vary depending on the salt/water ratio/ but I have done steel before same technique... worked out pretty well. ruclips.net/video/ncWXVOzNGbA/видео.html
-results at around 9min in.
What if you used something other than steel for the cathode? Say Brass, or Aluminum? Just curious how it would react. Great job!
Honestly, I don’t know. I have tried with copper, but not with aluminum or brass. I’m sure it’s possible, may have to adjust settings etc. Maybe I should do a project video of that and see how it goes. Thanks for watching and commenting! Stay tuned and I’ll try to get a test vid posted of the diff. metals soon.
@@fleanine I meant trying to etch the copper with something other than steel.
dolfinmagikpro oh I’m sorry I misread that. In answer to that, no I haven’t. but it would be interesting to know. I’ve been meaning to get the tub back out to do some etching again anyway. May be time for some experimentation. Thanks!
dolfinmagikpro I recently posted a video of various metals and electro etching each with the same settings / using copper anode as well as cathode / also aluminum. Results were a bit different than what I got in this video. Thanks again for watching and commenting!
