But yeah, there’s actually two version of the video I talked about, you should be able to find them just by searching “Pixy vs Crimson 1”. Try both of them if you have the time. It’s interesting to see how these characters contrast each other so nicely even from different games.

You can actually get around the game forcing you to remove the paint when modifying the preset. After loading the AC preset, go into the paint menu (confirm the pop-up message) and immediately back out while choosing to discard changes. You can now keep the color scheme while making changes to the AC.
keep in mind that this does remove any decals on the ac preset, even if it keeps the paint job. Most notably on Steel Haze Ortus, which has an unobtainable decal on its core
You don't have to redo the colour schemes yourself, there's a little trick to bypass that. You just have to enter paint settings, click "yes" then quit them and click "quit and cancell all changes". This will fool the system and leave the original colours intact, only decals will be lost, but they are faster and easier to replicate.

The banter between Michigan and Snail was amazing. I wish they had more interactions in the game.

My favorite character AC to play as. It shows my bias for big weapons, but it’s actually pretty effective and well rounded

This is late but if you go into PAINT and say yes to unlock the paint and decals and then discard the changes, you can preserve the paint job.
