The price is one of the reason why I talk a lot about grading on my channel, there’s a lot of oud sellers who are just simply selling factory oils and then writing a whole load of word porn to describe their oils and majority of the time these individuals have never distilled oud oil themselves before,let alone actually seeing an Agarwood tree.
The expression “you get what you pay for” comes to mind and appreciate your attention to detail in perfume artistry. Unfortunately those of us who love Oud and attars we have no choice but to trust the perfumers/sellers. Do you think there should be a certification of Oud authenticity which would be internationally recognised?

I buy oud oils from Oxford Ouds, which I found to be good quality at a reflective price, for anyone in the UK interested or looking for place to buy from 👍

After test is done the most vital part is the correct interpretation of the results. This also takes time and alot of effort by those who have great deal of experience.
Cheaper attars are synthetically produced and not crafted with precious natural raw materials That's the difference between cheap and expensive attars. Yes that the proper way even to test youre own materials very important
My experience is lot of small distillers in India simply do not have the Gc/Ms technology or are not willing to spend money to get there oils tested, but this doesn't prove its non -authenticity. However for peace of mind the buyer should get it tested especially since a lot of bad practice takes place. Mr adam any good company you recommend for Gc/Mc testing?
Welcome. Non gcms tested oils not 100% all are unauthentic. Ofcourse. But they all are doubtful. Thats why we test them. Unfortunately most labs will charge 300-500$ per 1 sample tested and ask for 1-5ml of oil making it almont impossible for buyers.
