I love the way Stanton plays this. It reminds me of the madness some Lovecraft characters endure. They are confronted with something so alien and horrible, they lose their minds. Here it's like Brett is immediately reduced to a speechless, whimpering child or even a cornered animal.
True but with this gone it creates a continuity error because Parker later says "It was big" meaning he saw the Alien but your left thinking "What the fuck? Parker never even saw it" This deleted scene shows that both Parker and Ripley got a glimpse of it.
This scene is great in it's own right. Considering how gentle the Alien first reaches out to him. Then snatches his head and begins to squeeze it and crush it open, before the jaws slam in. It's absolutely horrifying.
Even more interesting, and probably a choice by the actor, he brilliantly caught what a human reduced to an animal would do: be aggressive or be docile. He tries both, growling like a dog, showing teeth, and then whimpering when he realizes that didn't work.
It almost sounds like Brett is continuing to make the noises he made when he was hunting for Jonesy a few mins before. I read recently that he was supposed to have been impaled by the tail, then lifted up to it's head where it performed the skull bite. If you watch the Lambert death scene, you can see the shot where the tail goes between her legs is actually the footage they shot for Brett. This version here shows something of the tail at least.
This deleted scene is a rough cut. It has no background music or any added sound effects. That's why it doesn't seem all that scary! If it was edited correctly it would be a lot cooler!
Ah. This explains why in the next scene, Ripley and Parker are explaining that Brett was carried off into vents by the alien. In the final version, that doesn't make any sense because they're not there when it happens!
If they were to re-release a COMPLETE UNCUT A L I E N DVD with ALL THE DELETED SCENES INCLUDED, it would have been THE ULTIMATE SPACE HORROR MOVIE in sci-fi history!!
This scene makes what the other two state to the rest make more sense. They saw the end of it as it was actually happening. Not just the cat backing away. What gets me is the approach was so slow and Brett had no weapon? Not even a metal bar to hold off the creature? A cattle prod? I guess nobody really knew how fast this creature evolved into an adult. All this information held in the minds of Ashe and Mother.
there's were several scenes that didn't make the film at all because they were poorly shot and ridley knew he could do better(hell one of the scenes shows the alien crab walking LOL...it probably would have ruined the film. here's the scene /watch?v=eR5jYeIMBKk
An extended version of this scene shows the alien being sadistic in its slow killing of its victim. It plays with Brett for killing I'm making this creature more demonic and more of a horror movie that is science fiction thriller
I’ll never understand why Brett was told to go looking for the cat on his own. The two search teams were ordered to stick together and keep open comms at all times.
I think the scene of this in the directors cut was better where u didn't see everything that happened exactly, it was left to the imagination which was kinda scary.
reason why it got deleted was because it was too obviusly a man in rubber suit then an alien, thats why they removed this, the original version gave more alien feeling, too bad though cause i like the ending when parker and reply runs in
this wouldve been cool, would have offered a more diverse range of deats in the movie, i preferred the origonal cut though for this scene. perhaps lambert or parker could have been "head squeezed"
questa scena è troppo lunga, i prefer the final version in the film where its all more mysterious and u dont really know what happened to the victims... its more scary
Alien: uuhhhhhhhh nice hat Guy: (worried) Alien: let us have it Guy: (still worried) Alien :give me the fucking hat Guy: parkerrrrr avenge meeeeeeeee Alien: avenge what ?your hat
You are wrong. In Alien movie, which is distributed all over the world, is the scene with alien entire view when it kills Bred. It is a little bit different from this one.
I don't know what happens immediately before this (or would have happened if they'd kept it in) - what's holding Brett still before he gets grabbed? (Ridley S obviously had a thing for head-squeezing from '79 to '82, or thereabouts.) (Memo to film company box-set-making people - it's tetralogy, FFS! Tetralogy!)
I read a comment in a paper or something a while ago that suggested something similar....... with the face huggers etc like male pregnancy and with the two mouths gives the penatration idea..... lol just though id mention this

Me every 2 minutes playing Alien Isolation
The version in the film with the cat quietly watching the killing is much better imo.
Agree. This version just isn't scary.

a great job

Steve B Oh, so the best scene in Alien vs Predator? Cool.
In this original cut, it'd use the tail to push Brett in and prevent any possible escape.
As well as gently stabbing him in the back.

I'd love to see the original 3 hour cut they showed in Dallas...

An original song was commissioned for this scene: it was called "It's raining man."

@DonkeyMagnet99 I agree - this is unintentionally hilarious. It starts out like, "Friend?" and ends up like, "Dessert?"
I can see why this scene was deleted.
Sexual undertones are all over the movie.

The Alien is damn strong squeezing, crushing a human skull like that.
@DonkeyMagnet99 I think it might have been scarier had they left it in. It is creepy to think what the alien is doing to him up there.
PARKER! AVENGE ME! AVENNNNNNGEEEEEEEE MEEEEEEEEEE!!!
so he squished his head? creative
It wanted his hat
the final scene with the Little Mouth was way better.
I’ll never understand why Brett was told to go looking for the cat on his own. The two search teams were ordered to stick together and keep open comms at all times.
@bierhound5 ridley scotts directors cut
it must have been really fucked up having experienced his friends blood dripping all over him like that
part of it is in the directors cut
this was equelly as good as the finished version
I can´t believe they took this off.... it would be great!
I can see how that would have been too graphic for 1979, not so now. I think a re-release is in order?
Wonder what it made of people?
Repoman's always intense!
In a moment like this, I say go crazy, just start punching, kicking, go haymaker, you might actually drive it away.
Actually, they showed lot more of Alien during the original scene. Alien was shown in full, when killing Bred.
That would be funny if his hat landed on the black dude
I think the scene of this in the directors cut was better where u didn't see everything that happened exactly, it was left to the imagination which was kinda scary.
Great scene. I rented the quadrilogy a month or so ago, but don't remember seeing this scene. Anybody know which disc it was on?

@thedarknesscallingme definitely agree
where is the begining of this scene ?? there you can see the alien hanging around in the chains over him
@DonkeyMagnet99 im pretty sure it woulda been better with some music and sound effects, and cutting out 0:21 - 0:27
I miss Harry
Жаль что все ужасные сцены в фильме сокращенны до уровня клипповости Хотя изначально были сняты тщательно и подробно до мелких деталей происходящего
Right
I mean now that I look again it just looks more like it.
This is odd because it isn't in the original or the directors cut...
Considering all the creepy sexual tones I am a little shocked it didn't.
That thing fucked him up… Brutal.
whats he screaming? "Virgil"?? H.D. Stanton is one of the greatest character actors EVER!
He’s screaming Parker!
Did Brett died?
it is not deleted, this scene from original (director's) version of this movie.
No it wasn't.
Oh that’s horrifying!!!🤭🤭🤫
Ok in the theater release the alien bites him or something. Here the alien like crushes his skull or something lol.
RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
Hmm I dunno. I like the original cut of the film cos it relied a lot on what you couldn't see rather than what you could.
alien

Alien: uuhhhhhhhh nice hat Guy: (worried) Alien: let us have it Guy: (still worried) Alien :give me the fucking hat Guy: parkerrrrr avenge meeeeeeeee Alien: avenge what ?your hat
wow, that was gore.
0:14 Whatsuuuup!!!
Seems obvious why this scene was cut. Cheesy and lame.
Yup. Yet, you'll get purist who'll decry this and say this isn't cheesy or lame at all.

Fear I think as he’s just come face to face with a 7 ft alien when he was expecting something the size of a cat
@kryps1 hahaha, so true and so awkward.
It's not just that. The whole scene looks silly, with Ripley & that other guy suddenly running in. It takes away from the horror.
"It's raining blood?!" *sticks up arms* "Give me more!"
I read a comment in a paper or something a while ago that suggested something similar....... with the face huggers etc like male pregnancy and with the two mouths gives the penatration idea..... lol just though id mention this
scary shit
@blackout30001 Yoink!
Is Brett in labour?
No wonder they deleted this scene, it sucks. Glad the movie dropped it, lol.
@egg64 lol
This shit looks goofy lol
