- Immediately after her book launch, while signing autographs for the people who had come to witness this great milestone, some called Caroline Chemna aside.
She was carrying an envelope. Carol excitedly opened the evelope now that it was her big day... Only to find that they were divorce papers from her husband.
Couldn’t he have waited for a better time other than ruin her function? One wonders!
This is one of the most intelligent and mature guests you've ever hosted. I have really liked her reasoning especially when she acknowledges that the kids belong to both her and her ex. Yani she struck a serious balance in her studies, career and family life. Well done Mama!
Thank you so much for your feedback. I’m humbled.
Her wisdom and self actualization is on another level. I love her.
I’m humbled, thanks.
Thanks so much.
Mutahi ata wewe ni fan wa metha ya kagoni
And she is soooo beautiful
Wow! Wow! I applaud you Carol for representing women by speaking
from your scars for a positive impact and not from your wounds for sympathy. I am happy to find a woman who have walked in my shoes and who think as I do. Children should indeed never be fought for beyond divorce. No parent is more parent than the other. " Love dies but respect should never be begged" You are phenomenal Carol!
This lady is full of wisdom and an inspiration to this generation.
I’m humbled
What an inspiring story. Thanks Monica for hosting Carol. She has a beauty that radiates great vibes! I admire her maturity in handling the complications that life brought her way and coming out triumphantly! She is an example of a woman who has defied the traditional norms that relegate women to 2nd and 3rd class in personal development. Bravo Carol.
Thanks so much.
Most of our men don't appreciate the success of their spouses...does it intimidate them? Why?
@@carolinekolom5510 Hi Carol ,what an inspiring story! How can one reach you please
This is one of the best shows! It's time we stand up for ourselves, set our priorities right and not let others predict the future for us. It's time we broke the norm.
Thanks Carol you really open up minds for some people who always thinks children are for one parent
Yesss sweetheart, better a divorced daughter than a dead one, it's so unfortunate that the Ekueme hit singer died in the hands of her husband may her soul rest in peace. Your education journey is one of an inspiration to me and many others.
Your doors opened at the same time pursuing your studies in Norway, getting married, having children at the same time. I have realized as a woman you have to sacrifice alot even as you purse your goals and purpose in life. I call you a warrior having tried to strike this balance and still living normally. Carol you are a fighter and a go- getter. I schooled with you in University of Nairobi before you proceeded to Norway. I salute you Carol you are a hero. All single mothers should be respected and they owe no one an explanation.
Very eloquent, courageous, self driven & determined beautiful lady. May the Lord guide your steps always.
(Long comment alert)
Listening to this, I have a new respect for you Carol. You are a wise strong lady. The interview is a whole book in itself. You have covered all sort of issues be it cultural, family, stigma e.t.c. I even took a notebook and I am proud to be a fellow Kaaga Girls alumni.
I remember during her husband's burial, prof Mugenda thanked him (late Abel Mugenda) for taking care of their kids while she studied Abroad. I realize now that the man was far ahead of his time, considering the fact that culture dictates that women are the ones expected to sacrifice and shelve dreams for their families.
I think when it comes to men relocating and shelving dreams, the external forces and maybe internal, could be too hard and may sink the ship. I have heard of ladies who have been given ultimatums, 'masomo ama familia'. I am proud of you girl for choosing to stand for what you believe and what you had struggled so much for. I know many of us ladies would have abandoned everything and run back home to 'save' the marriage. It's very wise of you believing that the kids father was also their parent and they were safe in his care. Like Chimamanda often says, girls are mistakenly taught to have dreams, but not so big, to shadow their husbands. Your ex really did try, even relacating to be with his family though at one point, maybe, the external forces were too much and sunk the ship.
Go on gal, write that book, proceed to your PhD, you are a gem and the world is at your feet.
I’m totally humbled by your comment. I’m
Happy to learn that many have learnt from
The show and that we need that little pig as women to know it’s ok to choose us first, so we can also contribute in making the change we badly desire to see. Thanks again. Kindly allow me to copy paste your feedback on my fb page.
🙏go on gal. You may copy paste
Well said!
You have put it so well
Carol I love, love, love your thoughts!
Kwani the ex passed on?
Thank you carol for your story. It's such a bold and inspiring story, being a therapist here In Kenya high schools, most children are suffering from dysfunctional families
Thanks Anne. I can only imagine. Based on my high sch experiences, school going children got loads of stuff to deal with. I would want to give you at least a few copies of my book for your school library. How do I reach you.

Such an inspirational story 👏
I like her determination and way of thinking.
Lesson learnt: an empowered lady is in a better position to take control of their life. Ladies let's work hard to have an income and empower and mentor the young ladies who look up to us.
She's unstoppable to achieving her goals. The spirit I just needed. We love u mama. Keep going
She has so much positivity and wisdom...I just want to hear her speak...

Carol you are just amazing and I pray all in abusive relationships will get to listen to this interview and take a positive step .Thank you so much Carol for sharing.
Wow ! What a woman ! Beautiful and focused ! God loves you ,never regret anything ,something good came out of that marriage, 3 beautiful children do not let any man make you lose your dignity and purpose in life. I think the man felt challenged by her success.
Thanks for your comment.
One of your best interviews Monica, intelligent, sober, confident Carol, thankyou for passing the right button to the women behind you👏👏👏,I am also glad that I ended my dysfunctional marriage

Beautiful lady with an amazing story. I like her progressive way of thinking & her determination to pursue her education to a high level & build a career despite the challenges. Keep soaring. Kudos 👏
Lesson learnt, when you have a chance to do something,do it well. The genesis of her education is inspiring.Great lady you are.
Im reading your uplifting messages and thanks for watching and taking time to comment. Those wishing to be coached on children custody and support cases can reach out. divorce coaching is also an area i love because while we would badly want to divorce or to be divorced, our partners may creat a hell durning and after the process. for this reason, we sometimes need a neutral person to hold our hands, and tell us things we ay otherwise not want to hear.
hi Carol this is so inspirational being going through almost the same thing, i got this link from our mutual friend. baraka
@@maryn7609 thanks for watching and finding time to leave a message for me. May God hold your hand through it all. And you know you can Reach me in case you need a hand to hold you through the journey.
Your story has given me strength to keep moving though its hard for me right now I know i will stand on my feets. Let me check you on Facebook
Carol May God always protect you and walk with you. You are such a strong lady. I went through a similar hard life and God stood with me when I was only 26 years old and I became a winner. You will also always succeed in life. Keep the fire burning girl
Well said Carol. So inspiring to every woman especially those going thru abuse in their marriages. I admire your courage of coming out to speak. Well done Kagoni for bringing Carol to ",the table".
Beautiful, smart and full of wisdom. Awesome lady.
What a wise woman is Carol. Thank you for sharing your story! May you continue to shine.
I have learnt about my value as a woman.. That i value myself first. N also supporting her view on church n African culture about a woman who always leaves her dreams n need to support society marriage n her husband n children n no one cares of whatever she want or need.. I feel this is so alive in our day to day life. I feel a woman should be supported listened to cared for n also loved unconditionally... My thoughts..... kagoni ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow! What an inspiring story. What do men really want?? Keep soaring Caroline, women are breaking the ceilings. Kudos gal.
Monica that was a great interview. Kudos too.
Men do fear brave aggressive ladies
Not all
Courageous and strong gal. You are beautiful inside and outside. You stand high Carol. Learnt from you. ... Resilient
I totally agree with Carol. I am a witness that women should not stay in marriage for the sake of children. It never helps but worsen the development of children. I wish one day I can speak my childhood life without crying. Be blessed carol. You are strong woman carol.
Best interview in this channel..This woman is phenomenal 👏🏾..time well spent
Carol you are such a brave woman, i was there at the launch I remember it quite well. You will keep soaring gal because the sky is the limit. Resilience is a book I can read over and over. Kudos gal

💯
Carol you really are a true gem. despite your not so promising childhood you rose against all odds to become a very strong, wise and focused woman. As women there is a lot we need to learn from this especially those going through separation. you are indeed a great inspiration to both men and women.
This is one of the most inspiring n empowering video. I have mostly loved the fact that Carol has taught us to believe in one self n aspire to be what one have always wanted. God bless u monica n carol for that video
Carol you're very courageous woman!!!
Learning a lot from this. Thanks Monica for being a great host.
The lady, Carol, is mature enough, her story is the prove
The part of the story that mothers should not 'steal' the children from their father for whatever reason clearly opens up to society , both mother and father are equal when it comes to children love
Kabisa. Thanks so much.
Carol, you're a great inspiration. You're full of God's wisdom. Very intelligent, knowledgeable and a role model to many. This is a great show.
Women are rare gems..I have never known who will teach our African men to learn how to cope with strong women..as long as you know your worth as a woman...men of today will fight to put you down.Kindly Don throw in the towels because he won't be any better..but time is a good master you will eventually applaud yourself for the sacrifice. Just work hard..sell your clothes..veggies etc.let a man be just a bonus cz majority are ungrateful.keep up Carol you have your babies and big opportunity...I wish I can advance to these levels but I will.
Yes,let's learn to choose ourselves over dysfunctional marriages
Monicah this is very touching and am glad u v supported Carol by listening to her and emotionally she must be very fullfilled
Carol is a very smart lady! I wish I was as wise as Carol in the 1990s.

Here comes my tribe......
There's no guilt in actualising your dreams Carol ..you are brave and you can only be a better mum if you are a better person...💕
Kumbe tuko wengi. marriage is good and a blessing if both respect each other but if otherwise its a curse.

I love the way she is able to articulate herself.
You ministry is in your pain. what a positive soul.

Thank God for this story. Many women are in toxic marriages n r suffering in there. Lets talk about it n encourage our girls to be watchful. She's is also a perfect example of a Godly woman
Women we have learned a lot from this beautiful lady. Carol God bless you
This lady is so intelligent, wise and very mature
She's such a good Lady. I belief this is a case of insecurity. Men should start accepting hard working and knowledgeable ladies.
She's lovely, humble and very intelligent. Future is very bright. God bless you.
I think most men suffer from jealous of progressive women. I went through divorce just because of graduating in university. My x was so jealous of me yet i was insisting it was for our common good and kids. But it is well, wanawake tujikase, Mungu yuko nasi twiyumie ta twana twa tuiritu.
I admire her confidence... She was not ready to go through that with that her EX .. Kudos gal. We should know our value 💕
I m looking forward to seeing the book n getting the contents. Never regret. Regrets brings only Miseries something good doesn't come just like that. " Resilience" What a Name 💕 it.
Powerful show, the guest is so inspiring. It's good for a woman to be able to self sustain herself. I wish this message will reach our young girls.
Waaoo Amazing Story and very Inspiring..Kind Regards from Germany..Hold On To God Almighty..Carol has Fought a Good Fight and Now She is Winning The Race..Our Lord Jesus Said..The Race Is NOT for The SWIFT. THANKYOU
