edward... you did everything perfectly.... even the mistakes.... keep making them as they are the onky way to learn. looking forward to having you back on the water... your friend from Vancouver
Been living on my Columbia 32 for years now. $500 mo cheap near Philly. Lost everything during Covid (House, Business, Wife, literally everything), just as my life as a homeless 55 yo was starting I found my boat. Sure, its lonely, but I'm in a good place despite the craziness of the country falling apart around me. I found peace living in the boat. Sailing is now all I think about. I know how scary it all is but it all seems worth it. At least so far. Good Fren! Look forward to seeing you out there. It's worth it
Hello, I do like your channel. I am not a regular sailor and only completed ASA 101 with a couple of extra hours. I am always thinking about the dream of being a liveaboard....... Good you have stepped out and are doing........................Happy for you!
ok want to chip in on the unwanted tip list: if you are really solo sailing a safety harness and jacklines are much more important than a life vest, the thing is - if you ever fall in it will be when the waves are high and the wind is strong. The only thing a life vest will do in those circumstances are to prolong your drowning. Stay attached to the boat :) - I just love your attitude and hope you don't mind some ribbing. Best regards from Sweden waiting impatiently for spring.
Welcome to the neighborhood. I don’t know if new buildings to west will affect wind patterns but historically winds howl through Oyster Point. I was there during construction and the dust drove me out to Brisbane Marina where there is more wind protection on the northern docks.
Looked into Brisbane, but it was more expensive, and they required a survey where at oyster point they just wanted to know if she'd float 😁😆😅 I'd like to check out Brisbane though. Heard there were lots of single ladies there!
I feel I am letting you down by not complaining about your sailing skills. You should go back and watch your early attempts. You have improved both with regard to technique and safety. Fair winds.
My slip fee in North Carolina is around $325-$350 depending on how much electricity I use. I'm a livaboard. Where the hell else can you live for that little rent? Plus on the water. I love it.
Ive ran aground once.. felt a rock in a marina when i went to close to the breaking wall at low tide.. it was at 3 knots so im not to worried but i dont wanne do it again :D
Ed, I hope you had some other fail-safe attachment and weren't only relying on just the line hauling you up the mast?! If not, don't you ever do that again! I'm hoping to get up my mast (for the first time) this summer - but my climber son is giving me advice about safe ascending.
tiller on a 32 footer.....perfect!
@@nufsed I love the tiller!

Thanks buddy. Just got back to the boat. It's been raining cats and dogs but I hope to be out sailing soon.
@@EdwardSeatonSailings still a bit cold (and rainy) up here but hoping to get out soon.
Love your new slip, and you get to call it home
Thank you!

That is very good advice! I'm making all this up as I go along so there's bound to be a little ribbing. I appreciate your positive attitude 🙂 thanks

😂😂😂 Don't let me down!
Nothing like being berated by crusty RUclips sailors. Nice commentary! 👍
Thank you! Love your channel too!

Indeed! Certainly the cheapest rent in San Francisco. But shhhh. Don't tell anyone 😉

It was a sickening moment for sure, but probably just scrapped the ablative paint off.

Yeah. We had another line as back up :)
@@EdwardSeatonSailings OMG, I'm one of those fault - finders!
