Schofield with an amazing call this weekend. As a north fan, I couldn't even sense 1 hint of bias opinion within his commentary. He earned a TON of respect from me as a media personality for the game. Well done legend

As an Eagles nuffy I have to block out footy for about a week after that display. I’m usually Mr Positive in the darkest times with the coasters and Backchat is such a positive release from the crap from Melbourne media… but even for me, there was absolutely nothing but misery in reflection on Saturday.
We feel pretty betrayed as fans, so the Eagles need to fight like hell to regain our trust again (I’d hate to sound harsh… but it is beyond taking the piss now). I’m sorry… but google weather showed absolutely no wind all day, we were 2.15 at 3 quarter time… 2.15.
I don’t care how bad that umpiring decision was (it was a shocker, but this loss is 100% on us), if we kick 2.15 at 3QT, we deserve to lose.
I am very tolerant and patient about how we perform away, we still haven’t worked it out… it will take time… but at home that crap we served on Saturday arvo brought shame on our jumper.
I am truly sorry if I caused offence… I absolutely love my team… but rebuild or no rebuild, our patience has been really tested.
I was flying back from Europe 3 weeks ago and 1 hour before the flight I was streaming the Adelaide game and it just finished…. I felt completely miserable the entire flight back… but I know we don’t play well away… so I let it go
Then leading most of the game against the Saints… then we absolutely butcher that one… but I still stay positive, I let it go
Then we lose the unlosable against North… kick 2.15 at 3QT with no wind.

Totally agree about WCE, absolutely terrible for 3 qrts im at every game i certainly wasn’t putting the result down to the Yeo decision, for me Simpson Should be under serious pressure to keep his job. Out coached again..
I hear ya brother… listen I feel horrible writing scathing criticism, our young boys are under so much pressure. But for positive fans like us, it feels like we have just been completely thrown under the bus. After this game we needed to voice our frustration and just get it out of our system (we are saying this out of love, but frustrating love)
We’ve been loyal, patient, fought against the grain under huge adversity when Melbourne media was saying “everyone in Eagles needs to be sacked!!”…. But we are not seeing that same respect in return in the loyalty we are showing.

On the Yeo decision:
Correct "call" based on the rule, but the rule needs to change. Rule needs to take into consideration context and intent of the player like "insufficient intent".
Yeo's intent was to win the ball, it wasn't to jump on it or drag it in to slow the game down.
Look at the free kick solely by itself.
Regardless of what happened throughout the whole game or in the lead up to the decision, that's irrelevant. The umpires are there to officiate to the best of their ability. When they make decisions like that, it completely changes the momentum and whole dynamic of the game.
He's picked up the ball after applying a tackle and the umpire decides he's held onto that too long? Really? Any footy nuffie that watches that can't honestly say, yeah that's without a doubt holding the ball.
Umpires need to be challenged or have some sort of consequence for making bad decisions. End of story.

Playing Hutchy on the field instead of Maric imo contributed to the Eagles loosing the game, I'm sure he will be a good addition , but he doesn't know the game plan , anyone's names or have any synergy which all make a huge difference at the top level. I miss the Skeeta - Schoey banter !
Got to say I prefer the days when we weren’t talking about the umpires, some umpires are overly concerned about applying the rules 100% black and white with no feel (Nichols particularly I’m looking at you). The better umpires play to the feel of the game and the situation, these guys tend to umpire finals and we all generally prefer that style
Adelaide is doing the same as Freo in their rebuild a year behind them.
Should have played finals last year, drop off this year so we'll see how they respond next season.

I wouldn’t mind seeing Essendon and Carlton play each other twice that would be so good to see both teams play each other twice great work guys I do agree that Good Coast can’t be trusted away but they should have at least made it more attacking and lower their eyes when they go forward

15 points by the 3rd quarter cost us , Kelly and Reid out hurt us as well , (take Simpkin and LDU out and how would they go ) , and when Ryan and petch went in the middle , maric on the wing , the game changed , ole mate Clarkos hole would’ve been puckering 😂 , free kick didn’t cost us , there were so many shit calls throughout the game , like the out of bounds , the ump not knowing which way the free was too go , it’s is just hilarious they make mistakes like they do , about time umpiring become a full time job and they train all week too get it right

Correct or not, marginal calls that effect games in the dying minutes are simply about umpires making it all about them.

More excuses from Simpson .. he needs to go. He seems to have lost the players . Out coached weekly..takes three quarters to make a change when getting smashed in the midfield.
So, Will.. you’re for leniency & letting the game go.. yet you insist Yeo’s call was wrong, despite the fact there is no WAY Collingwood get pinged for that late in a game because of that very leniency you mention. That’s why Papps stopped you on that, mate.
