Giants aren’t good enough to win the division with just a QB. They suck all around and they’re not beating Dallas or Philly.
Giants aren't good enough to beat the Cowboys and the Eagles for the division. They're better at almost every position group on their team than the Giants.
They also got a good coach a good OC they really all they needed was a QB the team is young and plays well together with a mix of vets and decent O line and the defense has vets and young guys with fresh legs . The texans can stink next year it’s not a short term thing it’s a long term thing

I value Jones extremely high as a third string NFL QB at 4 million per season. If the Giants want to move ahead of Dallas and Philly in the East, they must replace Jones or draft in the top 4 next year.
They likely won't be there next year. They were a few plays away from a playoff birth with backup QBs because of decent coaching. Jets, Rams, and Bills games were all winnable games they had in their hand. I don't think they'll be in the top 4 next year, nor do I think it's smart to move up when they have too many holes on the roster.
A QB is not going to fix one of the worst offensive lines in NFL history, they don't have a number 1 even a number 2 receiver, they need to figure out the CB2 spot, they need another pass rusher opposite KT, as well as address the RB & safety position with X and Saquon. The most successful teams are built from trenches outward. They need to build the team around the QB because they aren't a QB away from being championship contenders much less NFC title contenders. They're a borderline wild card/barely missing the playoffs team right now.
The Falcons are a QB away from being perennial playoff contenders. They have the running game, offensive line, a #1 wr, and a playoff caliber defense. All they need is a franchise QB that can lead them there. They're a team that should move up and get their QB of the future.
I don't care about what the Giants do or how his career turns out but he is far better than a 3rd string QB lol and could easily have a rebound season or succeed in another environment.

They have an offensive line, running game, stud TE in Pitts, a #1 wr in London and a playoff caliber defense. Almost everything you need to be nfc title contenders and he’s way better than Ridder

The 2nd and 3rd string QBs moved the offense better than DJ. I’ve seen enough. Get a QB in the draft to sit behind DJ.
Team has too many holes to move up and too high to draft a tier 2 QB. I think JJ and Penix will be gone before they pick in round 2. Giants are really stuck between a rock and a hard place. What they need to do is build the team through the trenches outward. That's how the most successful teams are built. Mahomes, Lamar, Love, Allen, they all came into good situations. Hurts came into a good situation, Dak came into a good situation. What good is moving the ball if they don't score any points? The 2nd and 3rd string QBs had a better OL with a healthier and better AT and Saquon something DJ hasn't had since week 3 and still averaged less than 17pts a game. They still gave up the 2nd most sacks in NFL history this season.
Anyone saying DJ is a starting QB shouldn't be analyzing or coaching football.
If he's on the Falcons they are a SB contender.

Honestly, I don't even think they have a choice but to have faith. It's too costly to move up because they have so many other holes on offense and its way too early to draft a tier 2 QB who will likely have to sit a year or 2 to develop a Jordan love type prospect. If the Giants had a roster like the Falcons, i'm positive there's no question they'll probably move up. But they don't.

At the beginning of the season, it was general consensus in the media that Houston had one of the worst rosters. They drafted stroud and look what happened. Draft the QB if you have the opportunity. Plain and simple

Daniel Jones is not a starting caliber QB. He's not going to BECOME a starting caliber QB. Giants should look to get Jayden Daniels if they can(Jayden's tape looks better than Maye's for me, I see Daniels as the true QB2 of the draft), and start looking towards the future because it's clear Daniel Jones aint the guy. You cannot win in the NFL without good play from the QB position. If the Giants want to get back to a super bowl, they're going to have to beat Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, or someone else once they get there. Do we really think Daniel Jones is gonna be the one to do that? We've seen everything he is, we know what he's going to be for the remainder of his career. It's really that simple.

Quarterback is more valuable than the RB and that's the position you have to take care of. Plus lets not act like they wouldn't be in a worse position. Picking 6th overall, Saquon signed but DJ a free agent. Too costly to move up and too high to draft one of the tier 2 QBs. That would be worse even if DJ shouldn't have gotten 40M per year even though that's not even really the highest salaries in the league for a QB. That's average.
DJ is not a starting caliber QB. Both backups out played him last season. He has below average arm strength. Doesn't throw deep or outside the numbers consistently. He's awful in the pocket despite being a decent athlete. Doesn't have good foot work. He's bad before the snap which gets him sacked all the time. Even The Seahawks and 49ers DB's said he's a one read QB who can't go through his progressions. Does not throw with anticipation. Never throws a receiver open. He only stayed healthy in 1 of 5 seasons. He's an athletic based QB who is coming off a torn achilles and 2 weird neck injuries. Even teammates said other players should have been paid first. Yet he is set to make $47 million next year. It is time to remove the band-aid and move on. There is no reason to double down just because they made a mistake signing him to a huge deal.
Why is this even a question? They play so much better after Jones went out. He's here for one more year then is gone. He is not a good QB.

Lets get a vet on a 2 year deal and aim for a qb in the next draft. Build the o line this year so that way next year we will be more dominant up front
As it stands which is not 100% but the quarterback draft next year is at the time not as good as this year and you would have to have a terrible year to get a shot at a top prospect which would cause GM and coach being let go

A new line coach should help bring that young talent they have together including Neal and JMS, and getting a #1 much less a #2 wr in the draft. I wouldn't come out of this draft without at least 2 wrs.
The Giants have to keep him now because he's under the contract and they have to pay him anyway but they have to draft to have some insurance and look towards the future
Dallas will extend Dak 60 mill a year and Jones contract allows giants to cut him after 2024.
They picked Saquon at #2 when they clearly needed to figure out their move away from Eli. Instead of taking their gamble on Josh Allen who was a risk as all are but has an immense ceiling of potential with the right attitude and work ethic to be worth the chance. Then they elect Saquon at #2 instead and when they’re still bad had to take their QB gamble in a bad QB class and they bet on a guy who was always a low ceiling. And thanks to the market they’re paying that guy $40M a year and now Saquon may be gone. That really sucks - there’s no sure things but it baffles me why they didn’t take Josh when they were in dire need to find a replacement and had a guy with a huge ceiling available.
It's been obvious for many years that the value of the franchise is most important thing to Jerry not winning Superbowl 🤔

Burrow was not a quick fix. They had a top defense and maybe the best offense skill group (WR's and RB) in the league, at least one of. Even with the bad oline he went into a decent to good situation
If people would stop looking at the injuries and the o line situation and really focus on his quarterback play IT'S NOT GOOD!!! Even if he doesn't get hurt and the o line was top five and he had weapons say what Burrow has ,his game is not good enough to elevate the team to a superbowl the flaws in his game doesn't equate to being successful he stares down receivers, his pocket presence not good, holds on to the ball too long, his processing and decision making is not good and it's been five years and it hasn't changed he really is a backup or third stringer he would lead the league in interceptions if all the other things were fixed on this team definitely because it is a passing league the staring down receivers would be a cornerbacks dream
If the Giants cut Jones post June 1st 2025 they will have a dead cap hit of $11M in 2025 and 2026 but will save $30M and $47M each of those years.

Giants made a mistake by not picking up DJ's 5th year option lol could of had him at 23 million last year and then moved on. But the let his contract expire and he played well in the final year. Then they had to pay him the big deal.
