Yo man just want to say big thanks for these videos im in y10 and ive been watching your videos recently and its completely changed my perspective on revision and made me do it differently and a way in which i actually truly revise, something i could've only dreamed of beforehand
Mate I didn’t believe them when I was in your position but when they say you should do the work in year 10, they are so right, my exams are 2 months away and I’m bricking it
For all the in-class tests, I don’t revise. And for the mock exams, I just revised the night before and I am currently sitting on 7,8,9’s in every subject. How can I structure my revision to suit this?
I’m currently getting a 8 for maths, 7s for lit and lang, 4s for science, history and food tech and french. How would I get all 8s and 9s in these subjects? please help.
ur getting As and A* in what I would say the hard subjects, history u need to UNDERSTAND the content, not memorize it. I would say if ur good this good and ur englished than u should look at example paragraphs for each topic. I would recommend learning a 9 grade essay for each topic. Food teach and science ur gonna have to watch vids. That the best way in my opinion to be able to learn complex subjects such as sciences. Flashcards flashcards flashcards. I cant emphasize them enough. If ur short on time u can access ready-made flashcards from Quizlet and what not. Laslty for French I would say try incorporating the language in ur everyday life as much as possible. Default ur phone in french and make sure ur listening to as much french podcasts as possible. Watch french series and movies in topic u enjoy and keep ur captions on. I would also say that they make their requirements for a grade 9 very clear. Look up grade nine verbs and tenses. Learn all ur grade 9 conjunctions and sentence starters. Funny how we picked the same exact subjects for GCSE, hoped this helped.
How do I get a grade 7+ in maths that’s the only subject I’ve gotten below 6 so far in both November and this current mocks so far .I’ve gotten very close to 7 in maths but haven’t reached it yet how do I get that 7 or above?Ive gotten 7,8s in all other subjects so yeah but in maths I’ve gotten 6
i rlly wanna get all 8s and 9s but for maths, bio, pe i got 8, physics, english lit, lang, chem, i got 7, i got a 6 in french, a 5 in computer science and a 4 in latin
English is the only one i struggle with as im getting a 7 in both. The level of getting a 7 amd a 9 is so substantially different that I'm not sure i can get a 8 or 9, which is a shame because everything else i should get a 9 in
I've recently started using anki, however I don't think I will finish making flashcards in time. Would you recommend using shared decks that other have made? Would that be effective (supplementing it with past papers of course)?
You have plenty enough time to make flash cards, it takes me like a day to complete one paper for science. I’d say making your own flash cards is better because it’s more tailored to you and whilst shared decks is a faster option it may miss out concepts that you might find tricky whilst they find it easy.
Is it okay if I download flashcards because I am very low on time I don't think I can cover the content it would end up taking me a month if I take my time....
In my mocks i passed most of my subjects but maths was very low and no matter how.mucj i revise or think aboht it the sense of dread looms over me that i wont be able ti pass it it has always been a weakpoint were other things i can get grades 7 6 5 maths i cant 2A is what im at right now and i would like to get it up if there is any reivision tips that you would suggest because the would help
Guys do yall think grade boundaries are gonna be high or low this year?? Cuz last yr it was pretty high, I think they might lower it this year... idkkk what do yall think?
Apparently the grade boundaries are going to be set to the pre-pandemic ones. I believe it all depends on if the questions are going to be hard or not, then they usually set the boundaries based off how people found the tests. I might be wrong tho
This year is the final step. The grade boundaries have been rising every year, this is the last year so they should be back to normal. Probably means they’ll be significantly higher than last year.
Such an informative vid just want to say from my experience that right now I only struggle with bio pp4 and maths in mock i scored a 6 in bio (not bad tbf) and a 5 in maths 2 months left to turn this around any tips for these 2 subjects??

depends on the grade, something like a grade 7 is about 65%, so you would need 156 marks total out of the three papers (80 marks each), but something like a grade 9 is about 214 marks out of the 240, iirc
Yo im Y9 and im trying to get the highest grades in the year group. Right now, I would say I get about tbe second highest grades in my class but I dont have too many extra curriculurs. I aint fit, so sports aint much of an option except cricket which im decent at, and im good at chess. I kinda feel lost especially since my parents have really high expectations from me and expect me to get into ivy leagues. Is anyone able to give me advice or something because I feel like im runing out of time to choose.
look into calisthenics or jogging/running it activates your mind and allows more focus to be dedicated towards the task you want to complete and of course benefits your health majorly. Also dont underestimate the importance of a good diet it can make or break the way that you study.
As well as running/jogging, cycling might be something you could consider. Ofc it’d mean you need a bike, but if you already have access to one then you can cycle to and from school etc (if you’re able to leave on your own). Extracurriculars don’t have to be sports as well, chess is really good already and you talk abt how it’s improved your problem solving and other skills. Maybe you could consider cooking/baking, sewing and other crafts or maybe even playing an instrument? It’s a matter of trying things out that counts the most imo since it can demonstrate your curiosity and versatility. All in all, do what you can and have fun! Also, I understand that the pressure can, is and will be a lot. There will be ppl around who are willing to help you always so don’t be afraid to speak up. Remember to look after yourself first!

When did u finish memorising all content for GCSEs?
Yo on average how many flashcards did you make per topic on science?

Can i go froms 4s and 5s to 7s in the time we have left???
work hard for 2 months and pray to god before you walk into the exam hall you will be fine i'm sure

Can I forego making flashcards if I have a large question bank? Can I just learn the lessons and then solve the questions from this bank?

Last year it was 214/240 for a 9
Which is about 90%
Depends on the curve of the year, if the curve is low that's good hopefully that's the case this year
chat im on 3/4's n a u am i cooked
if u revise consistently and put the hours in u can deffo get those 5s and 6s or if u work more u can pull out 7s
9 and 8s insha allah if your more disciplined
you can at least get 5s
Revise innit
