Estimate: Blocks and Cement for new FOUNDATION

This is a step by step guide on how to go about doing a quick cost estimate for a new house foundation. Talks about the total number of BLOCKS that would be needed to complete the house foundation, and the BAGS OF CEMENT to do the blockwork for the house foundation, and also the volume of CONCRETE that will be enough to cast a simple STRIP FOOTING and the GERMAN FLOOR otherwise called OVERSITE CONCRETE or DPC.

One doesn't really need a computer to do the steps mentioned in the video.
The working floor plans(hard copy) usually have dimensions.
The area of the plan would also be on the drawing.
A spreadsheet would make it too comprehensive, lengthy and boring for viewers that simply wish to know the NUMBER OF BLOCKS and BAGS OF CEMENT to get for their house foundation.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'allowance for errors'
But if it is to not come short of material from use of the method in the video - I will say that if the calculation is done correctly as shown, there should be leftover of material after the job is done(it is an estimation)

@@cluelessjunkie for example....while casting a pillar, its wooden frame gives way and you'll have to redo that same pillar....does the calculations cover for such occasional errors?
