They could have likely gotten more investment if instead of making things look futuristic had gone with a contemporary look. For example showing cars, buses and bridge designs commonly seen during the time the presentation is shown without making it look flashy would help make any potential investors see it as a safe investment in something that is practical and efficient in design. More importantly showing why its needed by having a city, in the state and national level with maps showing where the new potential projects would go and why those projects are needed (like new local rail lines inside the city so people can easily commute to new industries, financial institutions on passenger rail while also showing new rail lines for the ease of movement for exports and imports throughout the city, and then showing how those lines will cross the state and cross the nation would really get investors interested. Highlighting why a commercial rail line should be funded going to a certain state or city because its has currently or is in development a large manufacturing district, or that people between two cities tend to see the most flights and heaviest vehicle traffic which is why a passenger line is needed to reduce cost of traveling, is a safe bet for investors and can help free up the roadways for the movement of goods to and from those cities. Like with any design renderings and presentations most change a number of times before the project is even started let alone completed. Getting investors to view any projects as practical and efficient by using contemporary designs that arent flashy but mundane looking at least to an extent helps to reduce the fear of it being a big risk investment; the less risky it seems the better chance of investment. That doesnt mean that the final project has to look brutalist and mundane, the final design and built structure or look of railcars can be futuristic and technologically interactive, but showing that in the initial designs makes it seem unrealistic and more of an aspiration of what a future generation will hopefully one day be able to do which investors avoid. Its like the roads across Lagos, they arent flashy futuristic roads but practical roads and its likely that the grass and trees planted with the new roads werent a significant feature when the ADB (African Development Bank) was first told and became interested in the idea, only becoming a feature along some roads after the ADB had already became interested or had began the process to start investing in the new roads. Regardless, the country is going to become a very large country by population, one of the biggest in the world by population. Need to start planning now by getting as much smart investment as possible to help prepare for a future and practical and efficient proposals will get investments from across the world, while futuristic designs lacking in informative photos will scare off investors and theres no reason that you cant design and show things looking practical and efficient even if it looks bland and not in the end get something that looks really nice and is efficient and practical.

Lagos has a plan it has been working on and the plan is being updated. This is a good thing. Besides Eko Atlantic is a private venture with 35 years plan.

Limited resources with 31 years of federal government presence. Lagos state can do better than what's it's today with huge revenue generated in the state.
The state have massive population, headquarters of banks and embassies, seaport, airport and so many private sectors.

There has been no Federal presence in Lagos since the eighties.
Lagos was a jungle filled with mountains of garbage with practically not a single functional road before the return to democracy in 1999.
Moreover, the FG under the Obasanjo Ainistration seized Lagos state Federal allocations when Tinubu was governor, vyet Lagos continued to thrive and function like a well oiled machine then.
Moreover, Lagos is the only state that publishes its budget, so we know how Lagos funds are spent.

You're making a big mistake discrediting other leaders that contributed to Lagos development long before Tinubu was born.
Even the train construction in Lagos started during Obasanjo before taken over by Yaradua and Goodluck Jonathan.
The time Lagos state allocation was seized was in 2005 by the then president Obasanjo. Tinubu 5 years in office with allocation, what was he able to achieve with allocation he received?
Obasanjo did a very good job. If other state governor had taken same decision, they will equally be punish.
Lagos State statutory allocation was seized because Tinubu made the decision to create additional of 37 Local Council.
