I bought the ultimate pack recently and thought it would be nice if there were videos showing the brushes being used, so I was excited when this popped up in my feed. I just started using the oil brushes on a project, and I really like them.
@@NathanBrownArt I’m genuinely amazed this video doesn’t have *way* more views. Btw, if you don’t mind me asking, I’m wondering if there’s another brush (or technique) that could have been used to make the abstract, explosion-y parts look more smooth, less sort of “pixelated” (for lack of a better word) ?
@@zoltanmatok1928 Sure... If you’re working with the Ultimate Brush Toolbox there are some splatter brushes within the watercolor set that would work. There’s also some really good texture brushes with the acrylic set.
Not only am I excited to try these brushes, I'm also looking forward to the drinking game part! :D But seriously, absolutely amazing brushes. Well worth getting the entire set.
I really enjoyed watching your “hummingbird” painting process! I LOVE your Ultimate Brush Tool Box brushes that I purchased from Design Cuts after your 2020 presentation! The music was very soothing, too! Looking forward to more play with your brushes!!! Thanks again for a great video. Looking forward to more!
I bought the Ultimate Pack and am loving all the brushes! I am starting to work on learning how to paint portraits and was wondering if there are any specific brushes from the Ultimate Pack that you would recommend using for that purpose?
Hey Mike... So glad that you're loving the brushes! I think for portraits it really depends on the style that you're after. For example, if you're going for a sketched look try the charcoal or pencil brushes. The oil and acrylic sets would be great for a more painted style, etc... So I would recommend starting with an intended outcome in mind, and let that guide your brush selection.
Awesome tutorial! Some of the brush settings are different from the original purchase pack. I tried really hard to play with the settings but couldn’t get them like yours. Especially the textured knife and the bristle grain.. love this pack though. Do you have an updated version of ultimate brush pack? Thanks Nathan. You are totally awesome.
Hey Akashay... I don't believe I've altered the brush settings. The only thing I typically adjust is the size and opacity sliders as I work. There hasn't been an update for the Ultimate Brush Toolbox yet, but there likely will be in the future.
Loved watching your process. I bought this set after your Design Cuts presentation but haven't really had the chance to play with them yet. Any chance you could do a purely watercolour portrait in Procreate? The one you did on DC was mixed media (and so beautiful),
@@NathanBrownArt I am really enjoying your Ultimate Pack (I'm using the Oils), and appreciate this tutorial! The full commentary is much more helpful as opposed to watching a Procreate "speed painting" video. However, I just checked on Design Cuts, and didn't find a course like you mention above (I searched by name "Nathan Brown"). Is this still on the way, or is it available under a different search term?
@@JonSchmid1959 Hey Jon... The course launch actually got pushed back a little bit. It's going to launch in the second half of January. So just a couple weeks out now.
This was sooooo therapeutic to watch. Especially the sound. Love every bit of it
Thanks so much! Glad to hear it. 😊
I am in love with this brush set! I'm a beginner artist who loves to experiment with brushes and this is just the brush set I needed. Thanks!
Thanks Jean... That's so great to hear!! I agree this is a fun set of brushes for experimenting with.
@@NathanBrownArt no problem! I especially love the charcoal ones.
I love seeing the brushes I bought in action! Makes me know it's me who's shit and defo not the brushes. I hope we see loads more from you guys!
Thanks Samuel... Loads more are being planned. :-)
Loved watching your methods. Great instruction 💜💜
Awesome! Thank you so much! :-)
Hah.. you inspired me to paint a hummingbird 😊

This was awesome! I'd love to see more of these abstract paintings. The commentary was also great!
Thanks so much! I definitely have more planned.

Purchased your brushset. I'm looking for more tutorial videos.😊
Fantastic.... We need much more of these ;).

Thanks for a great tutorial and showing us how you use the brushes! :-)
You bet, Gill! It's my pleasure. Looking forward to recording more!
@@NathanBrownArt That'll be brilliant, look forward to seeing those! :-)
Thank you so much Nathan! Now I’m totally drunk and waisted but made a *-ing awesome piece of art 🤪 keep them coming 🙏🏻😉
Haha! Awesome Brenda!! So glad you enjoyed it.
Nathan!! More tutorials please 🥺. Watercolors please
As a matter of fact... I'm working on something right now with watercolor. Stay tuned!

Wow I love love love!
Can you do a portrait in the same style? I mean abstract bold color face.
Just bought your brushes. I hope they are as good as your site shows. There is nothing like the real thing _ hope I can say these are secondBest
Hey Dee... I agree. It's hard to beat the real thing. I bet you'll find these brushes a close second, and incredibly fun to use and experiment with!

Would you consider doing some painting tutorials for PS? (I would love some portrait tutorials). Thank you.
I do have both some PS and portrait tutorials in the works!
What size canvas did you use and it’s dpi? This is where I find my brushes don’t look as nice. Maybe mine is too big?
For this one the canvas size is 3000x3000 pixels at 300 dpi. Most of the time I paint on a 4000x5000 pixel canvas.

Everone wanna get rich by selling brushsets for Procreate!
Music in background is so annoying and off-putting
Yes! It's the same over and over and over again. For almost an hour.
everyone is always trying to sell shit now, never just doing art because, gets old!
