Agreed. Did you get a chance to catch it live?

I saw them early '96 at a small club (~500 ppl) in Stockholm during the 'Terrorist Tour' (the "secret" tour before the real tour). It was amazing!

That tour was awesome. I saw them in 91, Arise Tour.

Saw them in Geneva back in november, playing Roots. I have to say, it was intense, visceral, a really great moment. Max and Igor are beasts, they can drive a crowd, they made us do primal screams in rythm with their music... If they play near where you live, do yourself a favor and go and see them, the live experience is even better than the album. Thank you Cavalera Bros you are great :)

Sadly the American government has destroyed my roots. Native Americans (Cherokee)

No cap. Brazilian accent is the best in English. They can articulate better than most other countries for some reason. Maybes cause their language is more difficult and so influenced by other cultures.

      Its portoghese.
In Braziu there's also like 60 millions italians descend as Cavalera are part of.
Venetian dialect is co official in some places .
And what is funny is as opposed to USA.
A lot of northern italians went to south America more than south italians.
Especially Venitian - Piemontesi and Genovesi...
In Brazil but in Argentina especially.

Pretty sure Nile had already done all of that to a much more extreme length already. I'd give them the credit as originators and Sepultura as the band to effectively popularize the mixing of metal and native sounds.

At the time 'Roots' was released, Nile only had one EP and a demo out, and who knows if Sepultura had even heard them. They probably were coming up with the sounds unaware of the others' existence!

Oh yeah that makes sense. Should've done more research. Both sick bands with completely contrasting styles. We need more culturally-inspired metal bands!
