    The bottom of the Milwaukee pliers are left that way on purpose. They're mostly made for electrical work, not automotive, the ends are used for removing burrs and knock out plates in electrical boxes.

    I was bitten by the tool bug addiction. I am a professional Millwright and Machinist as well as a shade tree mechanic. I have bought all 4 of these and despite the price, the Knipex perform better than any of them. The Doyle seem to be second but all three of the others are pretty close performing. The Knipex hold up better than the others through lengthened use as well. The Irwin barely works anymore and I have used it the least.

    I have a Masterforce 3 piece set of these pliers. They work well and get the job done with no issues. I have recently bought a set of Doyle insulated screwdrivers, and I am impressed with good quality at a good price.

    I've been using the Irwin pliers for years. I've had knipex, snapon, etc and still grab my Irwins. Lowes puts a set on sale occasionally and they come in less than $10 a piece.

    This is the type of video that is valuable to me and I'm sure a lot of others. "Here's a tool truck tool and some alternative brands. what ate you giving up to go cheaper." Sometimes like these tools you aren't really giving up anything. There are some small differences that one person may prefer over the others but the next person may be totally opposite. I have both the Knipex and the Doyle and like them both. Maybe a slight edge to the Knipex but honestly not enough difference to justify the price. Wish I had tried the Irwin's, they look like a good value;

    Why on earth would someone spend $74 on the Matco PC7 pliers when the Knipex Cobra 7 1/4" for $36 at Home Depot? They are the same thing. Does the Matco label make it Gucci?

    • @jacksmith2315
      @jacksmith2315 3 месяца назад +1

      Easier to warranty. Can warranty them right on the truck, i havent seen a HD that has them physically in stock, have to order online which would be a pain to warranty. Also, you dont have to pay for the matco upfront, can put them on a tool account. But i agree, id rather not pay double if i didnt have to.

    I would like to see how the comfort grip Knipex would fit in your rankings. I would probably rank them : 1-Knipex, 2-Irwin, 3-Doyle, 4-Milwaukee.
    Also, you had the correct pronunciation. The company even sells a T-shirt that says Kuh-Nip-Ex.

    I bought those Doyle pliers as I saw one of my coworkers using them (90% of his stuff is snap on or matco) so when I see him with a HF tool, I know it’s decent and worth the space in my toolbox. Use them a couple times and work fine. Also bought icons for the first time today and compared to my cheap kobalt pliers they are way better. Similar to snap on in my opinion. Doyle is for sure slept on. I take them over Quinn pliers personally

    Have all those except the milwaukee, never bothered getting them because their not for automotive field more for electricians,hvac that why handle material doesnt come all the way down. the cheapest i have seen the water pump pliers besides amazon brands. Walmarts Hart brand, not sure it any good, but their 8inch set is under 13$ even cheaper than the erwins. Great Video Guys,,, God Bless

    I love tools and have the irwin and the Milwaukee never tried the Doyle and have different versions of the knipex (have yet to try knipex) all I have is knipex forged wire strippers from knipex. If you use the tools properly then you shouldn't have issues but I agree that the Milwaukee has a button that sticks out but doesn't bother me unless if I use it in tight quarters then I will use the irwin pliers other than that all work great. That is to me my opinion/ everyone to each his own opinion.

    Nothing touches Knipex imo. Thats the first time in my life I've ever seen those teeth broken? Did you drop them in a woodchipper? Lol. They may look 'similar,' but if you could see metal quality, there's no comparison. If you were holding those Doyle's while driving down the road, that giant button would ride shotgun. Does Doyle think people use thier foot to adjust them? $30 or not, I'd take 1 knipex over 2 or 3 of any of those others. Thanks for the vid👍

    I have 4 different sizes of the irwins, i really do like them a lot. I have the medium size knipex, and i love them. I use the irwins more, because i usually use the smaller sizes or the bigger sizes, but no doubt the knipex is the superior product. The teeth bite so much better and they are much harder. Its easier to wear the teeth on the irwins. I havent warn them to the point they dont work, they still work well, but the knipex have broke stuff free the irwins couldnt, and much easily at that. But i do still really like the irwins and reach for them more often. The knipex i use if im ina pinch and the irwins wont bite hard enough, or i need the slimmer profile of the knipex. Being more than double the price doesnt bother me because they really are better. Like how the knipex bite better then the irwins and the teeth wear more on the irwins, i would imagine the teeth on the irwins bite better than the doyles and the teeth wear more on the doyles. But i havent used the doyles so i cant say for sure, but i have seen some review videos that did verify the teeth are more soft w the doyles. Being the irwins are cheaper and more slim design, its a no brainer to get the irwins

    I like the Knipex but for the price I’ll go Doyle I don’t care for the Milwaukee at all they were too thick. Channel lock is good but difficult to use because they don’t hold in position I definitely like the push button style. I hope the Doyle beaded pair hold up over time.

  • @shadow7796

    I have some of the Icon pliers, and they're good. But I don't like the Doyle brand so far. The first pair I bought was the needle nose wire stripping pliers, and the hinge had play in it out of the package. It's just enough to make wire stripping a pain with them. It's a shame, too, because I enjoy the Icon pliers I have. I may try to exchange them sometime in the future. I believe I'll invest in a few different pairs of Knipex off Amazon. They've got that pair for around $40. I don't mind paying a little more for something that performs well. There's just some name brand stuff that isn't copied very well. Those Milwaukee pliers look good. I've completely stopped buying Irwin. I've got those same 8" ones and the jaws don't even line up closed. Their quality has dipped too much.

    • @jacksmith2315
      @jacksmith2315 3 месяца назад

      I have all 4 sizes of the irwins, i have no problems with them at all, and i use them professionally for a couple years now. Jaws line up fine. The knipex definitely performs better in stubborn fasteners and pipe fittings, but as long as its not really stubborn, like really rusted tight, the irwins work just fine. I actually reach for them more often then the knipex. I only use the knipex when i have to, like a tighter spot or too tight/stubborn for the irwins.
