  • I have a rusted vintage fishing reel. This turned out to be an awesome fishing reel restoration. I was not expecting the rust to reveal such a beautiful color for a fishing reel. Once I pulled out my old rust removing tools and got to work. This antique restoration quickly became one of my favorite. I hope you enjoy watching this lost tool get restored.

I love the craftsmanship. The wood handle turned out nice, but a collector would want the original one, but it’s yours and do what makes the heart happy.

Looks nice . But you took all the plating off . Didn't grease the gears or service the drag. Nice for a display reel but those old ocean citys were made to fish..

Its a sea fishing reel. The rod you used it on is a course fishing rod. The brass needed to be replated with nickle. It wasnt rust as brass doesnt rust.

Wow! That is so cool! Last year I did a simple cleanup of an old school fly reel that was made years ago by an English manufacturer. At the antique shop where I bought there were other reels similar in design to the one here. And look equally just as nasty from time and neglect.
