A 1757 version of this town represented as a tiny fishing settlement which you can explore is in the video game Assassin's Creed: Rogue. This is how I found out about it and wanted to learn more. I'm guessing it was abandoned because of a depleted cod industry. Such beautiful scenery.
My parents were born and brought up in Port Aux Gaul and Lamaline and move to Canada in1927. My dad fought in WW1in the Navy for Newfoundland and WW2 in the Canadian Navy. His ship was torpedoed in both wars. He lived to be 101 in North Sydney NS. Loved your video,
That's awesome. It must look so amazing looking at it from the water. Best of luck fishing. I cant wait to get home in July, I figure I will probably swell up and bust from all the fish I am gonna eat.
There are some that are used as cabins. Some crews fish from there in season. There is a outfitter that runs snowmobile tours , although it was not open when we were there.
