Idea: Can you beat the youtube algorythm with a team of only twitter plugs and comments? It may take sime grinding, but high level ones are quite decent.
I love how just like in the emerald no Pokémon center run, Hariyama just carries a good 90% of the run. Not just because it’s the one you get first, but because it’s the best one you get.
Imagine an emerald trade run...some of those trades are PAINFUL as well, like trade to get a plusle, trade a BAGOn for a Horsea, which can't evovle further unless you trade it..thoguh Skitty for Meowth is a definite upgrade.
Yeah, this is why Ruby ended up being the better choice here. The early trade in Emerald is a Seedot... which means you're stuck with a Nuzleaf until Route 119, where you get the Leaf Stone. Nuzleaf is rather weak, especially compared to Hariyama, and if you have to worry about obedience issues on top of that... hoo boy. Now, Plusle is a bit better than Delcatty, and Seadra/Kingdra is better than Corsola, but just having to deal with Nuzleaf for most of the game makes it not worth it.
It's worth noting that Corsola doesn't have regenerator yet-the ability didn't exist until gen 5-it has Natural Cure. That means when you switch Corsola out, it loses it's status affliction, like the Paralysis you Heal Bell'd.
I think the only pokemon I've used with either of these abilities. Was a roserade. But it can't make good use of it because it's usually not able to just take a free to get rid of a status affliction
I know a fun challenge: Pokémon Heartgold with only Duskull. You never did a challenge on any of the gen 2 remakes, and duskull is one of favorite ghost types. It would be really interesting to do and I hope you do it one day! Love your videos!

When you beat it, gen 6 with in game trades would be cool. You can get: Farfeched, Steelix, Magikarp, Eevee, and Bisharp. Before the Elite 4. In post you can get a ralts and the first form starter that yours was good against.
That gives him a mega steelix or gallade/gardevoir, gyarados, eeveelution, good starter, a good choice scarfer, and a really good typed dark/steel type. Thats kinda op tbh
There are some massive gaps. Farfeched is the only one you will have till you get a fishing rod, Magikarp and Eevee are from random hotels, and bisharp is after you save the world. At the town of the eighth gym.
As a kid I always thought of Vital Throw as the Pokémon slowly, intimidatingly walking up to the Pokémon, backing them into a corner, then picking them up and throwing them across the field, and that’s why it’s slow and can’t miss. I think your idea is better.
On my way through, I took the root fossil. I knew if I didn’t say what I took you all ask. Actually now that I think about it everyone ask way. Comments are good for the RUclips algorithm.
I always pictured Vital Throw as a kinda counter esque move. Your Pokémon takes a stance that drops all defensive measures to protect its own vitals and when the enemy goes in for an attack, it grabs them at that moment and uses their momentum to throw them to the ground. That’s why it never misses
Vital throw is when the Pokémon stares deeply into the other and before chucking them whispers, “it’s vital you get knocked out” but not all Pokémon are very persuasive you see
Considering it's an attack that goes second, I think Vital Throw is like a back body drop or a pop up powerbomb. Something you can use after the opponent starts moving as a counter.
Khajit plus gloves of the pugilist makes that run actually pretty easy as long as you don't intentionally level up too much. Fallout and Elder Scrolls always have surprisingly ok unarmed runs.
Vital throw is where the pokemon waits for the perfect time to attack to do the most damage Which is why it usually goes last and has infinite accuracy
You should try to do Pokémon white with one solosis I imagine this would be easy because of solosis’s high special attack star of 105 but it may be hard because of his base speed being 20 also make it big cell as a reference to your Pokémon fire red dragon ball z team training rom hack.
Doing a White 2 Challenge Mode run with Solosis was my very first challenge run, it wasn't super difficult but still very interesting with the low speed and great variety in support moves, so I can definitely recommend using the little guy!
Yo what about the assist only run in pokemon black? Assist is like metronome except your able to control the movepool with the moves you have in your party, i think it would be a really awesome and creative way to experience playing. Rules: 1. You can only use assist in battle 2. You can use any pokemon with the move assist in battle. 3. You can fill your team with other mon's that can increase your assists movepool so long as they aren't directly involved in combat. 4. Start with a purrlion. 5. The other regular rules
I want furret in gold (because it is impossible to beat it with sentret with no healing in battle.) EDIT: Turns out I was wrong it is possible with sentret some of the replies corrected me thank's guys.
I tried this in SoulSilver and it was fun. Jasmine was obviously very annoying due to being forced to use non-STAB moves like Dig. I didn’t go for Kanto, but I feel like it wouldn’t be too hard since Furret is actually respectable stats wise and MDB has beat Red with way weaker Pokémon.
Vital throw is simply YEETING the other Pokémon! Also @mydrybread you’re Pokémon stadium has been my entire professor oak challenge on Pokémon Ultra Sun! Thank you soo much for the great content!!! And I hope you see this!! I discovered your channel during furlough (in the uk) from Jrose11! And I’ve loved it for these 5 months! It’s helped keep me from going insane lol!! Keep up the great work and you got a life long fan! Good luck with the medical things! I’m sure your posture will be fine by 2021 even without the back ball thing
@@zorcess829 To be fair, gen 5 bugs are probably among the strongest bugs around right now, and get a bunch of moves even as a first stage mon. Basically all pre-gen 5 first form bugs only get 1-2 basic attacking moves (besides Ledyba and Spinarak probably, which you can't get in Emerald before the Hall of Fame unless you trade them from another game [which wouldn't be fair]) and don't have the same type variety, so it would be an entirely different story
I am Currently doing a challenge run with Fire Red and only Smeargle, it is on a randomizer for a little more variety. It has proven exceptionally difficult to get through the first phase of the game since you have to be extremely selective on what you learn since you get no tms or hms. Might be an interesting one for you or other youtubers to attempt and try different strategies in terms of move commitment
Wow! It's rare to see these challenges actually be really hard lategame. Skarmory really stuffed your team over XD Wish you didn't have to deal with the obedience RNG though
Well, MandJTV already did that and succeded as his 3rd challenge playthrough; even though he used items in battle (not X items tho), MDB would just grind a ton more and the result would probably be the same
It really hurts when he finally does more Platinum runs, but it's not a solo-Finneon run. All of the runs are still entertaining though. Keep up the good work!
Love your videos, they are the highlight of my saturday :) id like to see a run where toxic is your only attacking move, but you can use any buff moves you want (i.e, defense curl, light screen, etc). i think it has potential to be really interesting and give you a somewhat varied team
These in-game traded pokemon runs are my favorite pokemon challenges that you do please do more of them in the future. But i love all your pokemon videos, keep up the good work. :)
Its because the first in-game trade in emerald is before the 6th gym(no spoiler) and the first in-game trade in ruby and sapphire is before the 1st gym(no spoiler).
I got a stupid run: Can you beat Pokemon Black 2, with Only one Litwick. I figured that since it has a wide movepool, it's POSSIBLE, but it should be challenging enough
MDB, nice guy and great at entertaining runs. Especially when he forgets how moves work. Mostly because it makes me laugh a little. I always read moves I don't remember and sometimes how they work online. Glad you seem to still be having fun though, don't change too much okay friend? :3
Fun fact about the "Every Brendan wishes they were a Brandon." line, I'm a transgirl who's birth name was Brendan, so I can agree, I had that name and wanted to change it as fast as I could ;P
Pretty sure you didn't need to tell the world you are trans in that sentence. And before you start: I have nothing against trans people. I have everything against the ones who decide to tell it to the world when not asked. I don't go around telling the world what my sexual orientation is or what my gender is, because that is not what defines me and it isn't something people asked about nor really care about. By screaming it to the world at every opportunity, you are just begging for attention. You won't get the right kind.
My dude... the fact she's trans is totally relevant? Mentioning why she changed her name from Brendan makes sense in the context of the sentence, and there's no need to get so worked up about it. Nobody is screaming anything except you.
@@dappercuttlefish9557 It's not relevant to this at all. It may be their reason for changing their name, but nobody was asking for the reason for changing their name. All that was mentioned in the video was that every Brendan wants to be Brandon. It never talked about reasons for it. Besides. Them changing their name doesn't matter if they didn't change their name to Brandon. That makes the entire post irrelevant.
@@Lord_Poyo Yeesh. For someone who has 'nothing against transpeople', you certainly threw the world's biggest bitchfit over one of them sharing a relevant anecdote that happened to tie into their gender. If you sincerely feel a need to preface a comment with 'I'm not racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic'...consider that maybe you just shouldn't say it at all.

I actually can't wait for more Elder Scrolls challenges. There's a ton of challenges you can do in that game. Like Skyrim with hand to hand only
'Hand to Hand only' or as I like to call it my favorite way to play.
Khajit plus gloves of the pugilist makes that run actually pretty easy as long as you don't intentionally level up too much. Fallout and Elder Scrolls always have surprisingly ok unarmed runs.
Pete Marvin do the gloves of the pugilist help khajit do more damage than the Heavy Armor brawling perk?
@@Kevin-lv8wv Hm. How about heavy armor gauntlets + ring enchanted with Unarmed

Mah-Dry-Bread: hey it’s Groudon
Groudon: Mah-Dry-Bread? Is that you...again...?
Vital throw is where the pokemon waits for the perfect time to attack to do the most damage
Which is why it usually goes last and has infinite accuracy
You should try to do Pokémon white with one solosis I imagine this would be easy because of solosis’s high special attack star of 105 but it may be hard because of his base speed being 20 also make it big cell as a reference to your Pokémon fire red dragon ball z team training rom hack.
Doing a White 2 Challenge Mode run with Solosis was my very first challenge run, it wasn't super difficult but still very interesting with the low speed and great variety in support moves, so I can definitely recommend using the little guy!
mdb doesn't do single runs in gen-5 any more because of how exp. gain works in those games.
I know but it’s the earliest gen that solosis is in and I know that he has only played the older gens
Huh, i remeber requesting this exact challenge, let the streak continue!
I'd definitely like to see a challenge where you try to beat the game with only 1 hit KO moves (I.E Sheer Cold)
Would need to be a game with leppa berries lol
Yo what about the assist only run in pokemon black? Assist is like metronome except your able to control the movepool with the moves you have in your party, i think it would be a really awesome and creative way to experience playing.
Rules:
1. You can only use assist in battle
2. You can use any pokemon with the move assist in battle.
3. You can fill your team with other mon's that can increase your assists movepool so long as they aren't directly involved in combat.
4. Start with a purrlion.
5. The other regular rules
“The champion is steven stone and he’s pretty hard”
Is that a rock/stone joke or am i just an idiot
This run was simply awesome to watch!! Your content helps get me through my week.
Fossils are good for the RUclips Algorithm! And so are running jokes!
I want furret in gold (because it is impossible to beat it with sentret with no healing in battle.) EDIT: Turns out I was wrong it is possible with sentret some of the replies corrected me thank's guys.
Not impossible. I beat it myself
He beat Pokemon Gold with a Sunkern, I don't see why he couldn't do it with a Sentret
@@the_real_tabby Exactly. Thus it's worse than Sentret, thus yoi can beat the game with Sentret because Sentret is WAY better than Sunkern
@@python1972 not saying your wrong but movesets and typing could make it harder not just stats. He used growth to great effect for example.
@@justinthibodeaux8601 Sure but Return and Silk Ribbon exists
MDB: You're strong enough to win my battles; we can succeed!
Pokemon: Who's "we"?
Idea: pokemon heart gold with one furret
Furret Can Be A really strong and Competitive pokemon with A wide variety of moves if you use it right.
Spoiler alert: lots of walking
You mean one sentret

I tried this in SoulSilver and it was fun. Jasmine was obviously very annoying due to being forced to use non-STAB moves like Dig. I didn’t go for Kanto, but I feel like it wouldn’t be too hard since Furret is actually respectable stats wise and MDB has beat Red with way weaker Pokémon.
The illusion magic run was cool AF.... I've never had the chance to play that game.... Awesome vid as always
Can you do a pokemon challenge with only first evolution bugs (emerald)? Or maybe a challenge with only azurill (sapphire)?
He did the only first bug evolutions in gen 5. You can easily find the vid in his playlist of Pokemon challenges :D
@@zorcess829 yeah i know but i thought it would be intressting to see how it is in a different gen because they have different bug pokemon.

Can we all just agree the randomizers are fantastic. A link to the past, dark souls, now pokemon. They never cease to be really fun
Huh. Always thought that Skitty’s name was pronounced “Skit-it” not “Ski-tit” 🤣🤷🏽♂️
Now I can't stop saying "I switched to coroso for armaldo.." xD
Great videos man! Look forward to more!!
Wow! It's rare to see these challenges actually be really hard lategame. Skarmory really stuffed your team over XD
Wish you didn't have to deal with the obedience RNG though

Idea: try beating Pokemon HGSS with just gift pokemon,it could be easy,COULD BE
Well, MandJTV already did that and succeded as his 3rd challenge playthrough; even though he used items in battle (not X items tho), MDB would just grind a ton more and the result would probably be the same
@@darkfiredragon3410 Yeah but he can use different teams,he can throw away Slugma and get Typhlosion

It really hurts when he finally does more Platinum runs, but it's not a solo-Finneon run. All of the runs are still entertaining though. Keep up the good work!

I still want to see a fully randomized solo run
Love your videos, they are the highlight of my saturday :) id like to see a run where toxic is your only attacking move, but you can use any buff moves you want (i.e, defense curl, light screen, etc). i think it has potential to be really interesting and give you a somewhat varied team
Gen 3 spinda! Also i just watched the video of mandjtv commenting on your Castform challenge and i love that yall did a small lil collaboration!

You know, you mispelled "Say" in the script you flashed on screen, writing "Stay"
@@Lord_Poyo Chill. Comments are good for the youtube algorithm, so why get annoyed about someone sharing a mildly relevant anecdote?
@@Lord_Poyo Yeesh. For someone who has 'nothing against transpeople', you certainly threw the world's biggest bitchfit over one of them sharing a relevant anecdote that happened to tie into their gender. If you sincerely feel a need to preface a comment with 'I'm not racist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic'...consider that maybe you just shouldn't say it at all.
