Why are the Tories so adament about continuing to sell arms to Israel? If our supply to Israel is as tiny a proportion of UK arms sales or Israel arms purchases as the Tories are saying, surely that's an even bigger argument for cancelling any supplies immediately.
If we stop selling arms every time a client uses them, before long no one would buy them from us.

Hamas was elected to govern Gaza in 2006, however, have declared that their own civilians are the responsibility of the UN, whilst at the same time declaring that they will deliberately facilitate the deaths of their own innocent children by using them as cannon fodder (martyrs). Even parents are refusing to take their own children to safety and are choosing to martyr them.

US and Britain could stop all arms exports material and technical assistance to Israel.
You could stop sending weapons to Israel and have trade sanctions against the government, not just the settlers. Also, unilaterally accept a palestinian state. So stop saying you can't do anything. That would make them time to rethink their strategy.

Simple solution: Establish an independent Palestinian state on pre-67 borders. This should not be left up to Israel. Israel has consistently ignored international law with the settlements since 1967. If the UK joined other countries in imposing sanctions against Israel until these demands would be met.

The Uk can't enforce anything, it simply lacks the clout on the international stage. It can, however, grow a spine and help other nations persuade the USA to rethink its policies. On top of that, the Uk can't begin the process of cutting diplomatic and economic ties with Israel.
People keep talking about a two state solution. Please, tell me where the borders of a Palestinian state would be? Are you suggesting dismantling the thousands of illegal Israeli settlements? This would cause a war in itself. If you consult the Palestinians (what a thought, but one which doesn’t seem to have occurred to anyone.) A one state solution with everyone with equal rights, is what they want - although it will take years of re-education on the Israeli side.
It's not unreasonable, if Israel wants peace over colonial expansion, for them to actually punish settlers that break Israeli law (never mind int law).
For Palestinians to accept peace they would need an offer from Israel. An offer of equal laws, equal rights and security.
If Israel doesn't make serious moves to condemn it's own extremists, it's settler violence, it's laws differentiating Jews, Israeli Jews, African Jews and Palestinians, it's seige on Gaza, it's illegal wall.... then why would the Palestinians expect anything other than what they've faced since 1948.
I understand the paranoia that grips Israel. Surrounded by enemies. But they are the power there. The Palestinians can not trust the international community to protect them. All they know is the colonial Israeli state. They will fight the only way they can until Israel gives them a reason to reject terrorists/freedoms fighters.
Whether Israel can't or won't is up for debate. But they don't do anything like try to find peace. Those who have tried to find peace have been assassinated. There's extremists on both sides but we struggle to accept that Israelis can be extremists!
Israel will not accept a one state solution with equal rights since the whole objective of Zionism is a Jewish ethno state. The Palestinians would outnumber the Jewish population.
The presence of settlers in the W Bank does not prevent a two-state solution. It would mean that the Israeli government and IDF would no longer have control there and the replacement government would be democratically elected by all - Palestinians and settlers. If the settlers do not like the new equal rights administration, they should be allowed to return to Israel.
