  • Reckless Drivin' is an excellent 3rd person action game similar to classics such as Spy Hunter or Bump 'n' Jump. It was created by the talented Jonas Echterhoff and released as a Macintosh exclusive back in 2000.
    This review was originally released in the year 2011. This is a remastered and re-edited version of the original upload using only original footage.

    This video was originally released in 2011, but I have recently remastered and re-edited this video using ONLY the original audio and video files! I recorded many of these classic CMG episodes in HD / 60fps, but RUclips quality sucked back then and it looked really bad quality today. This was fun to create so look out for more remastered oldies in the future! 😁👍
    Also if you're wondering why I sound kinda raspy in these older videos, it's because I was hooked on cigs and smoked a lot 😮‍💨 (I quit a long time ago 🚭)

    Every single pixel and sound effect of this game is burnt to my mind as one of my most beloved childhood memories. Thanks a lot for the great review

    Thank you for reminding me of the good old days when my uncle used to let me play this game all the time in the afternoons after school.

      I was like "Is that a Marathon BoB death sound?? And is that an Escape Velocity klaxon and explosion noise??"

    • @kirishima638
      @kirishima638 2 года назад +1

      @@and6239 Yep! The scream is a direct rip from Marathon. And those explosions are from a library that was used in lots of games.

    I absolutely loved this game as a kid. Never had a registered version and I don't think I ever got past the first three or four levels on either Burning Rubber or Reckless Drivin'. Actually played this on my ruby transparent iMac G3. I vaguely remember driving crazy fast due to a time constraint... Unsure if the shareware version had a limit on overall playtime.

    My Power Mac 6500 experience matches yours almost exactly -- right down to the Sonnet Crescendo G3 upgrade! And you're right...that thing made a huge difference and definitely prolonged the usable life of the 6500

    Why are all your CMG videos on the gruz channel unlisted? It's a real headache to find those videos now.

      I moved the Mac stuff over to this channel. If you check out my playlists here on this channel you can find most of the old videos there. 👍

    I personally have the exact model iMac G3 as you do. Although I do get worried about the whole fanless design about it and it does radiate quite a bit of heat although from the top vent where the CRT is after using it for about 15-20 minutes. Is there anything you recommend to keep it at reasonable temperatures while using it or should I not worry about it. Thanks!

    Any way to get this on a modern PC? Windows 10 specifically? Would an Emulator work? or do you still run into graphics card issues?
