It's what he decided to do, remember Dragonball is all about Goku getting stronger, and in order to become the strongest Goku's approach to getting stronger is by fighting stronger villains because he always finds villains out there that are very strong. Goku is probably stressing out by the fact that he's getting old and he won't meet his goal of becoming the strongest before dying of old age, after all, he is now a grandfather and he needs to do anything he can to become the strongest within reason of him staying good and only do it by training.

Is anyone else interested in commenting on the fact that while goku plays training session with villains, innocent bystanders are affected? Obviously I get that it’s just a manga and anime, but that sort of philosophy seems very egotistical and crumbles under minimal scrutiny. Where’s the responsibility to defend the weak like has been proclaimed since the frieza arc? I guess it’s a different situation though when whole planets can be wished back to existence with not much consequence. Don’t get me wrong I love dragonball, always have, but trying to understand it from a philosophical perspective is a nightmare and doesn’t make much logical sense. Right let’s get this out of the way, yes it’s similar to cell, but it’s completely different in context. Goku didn’t give cell a senzu bean so he could fight him later, he did it to get gohan to go beyond. All the times he’s let someone live to fight them again it’s worked, piccolo, vegeta, hit, broly. Why wouldn’t he give moro this chance when he could easily kill him. Yes what goku did was dumb and will have consequences, but it’s perfectly in character for him to do!! Okay after this chapter finally releasing I'm happy with the way they dealt with it. It was such a huge gamble seeing as how controversial Goku's sparing of Moro was but after this it makes sense. I'm not at all ashamed to say I was one of the people who judged this chapter even before it came out because Goku kept Moro alive which would do two things from a glance: Disregard Goku's recent growth as a character, or Retain his original development and give it purpose so this is better than expectations honestly and I'm happy about that

Justin Taylor to be fair, Piccolo, Vegeta, Androids 16 17 18, and Kid Buu have been redeemed. AND, Goku just got done *teaming up with Frieza* in the TOP. in the world of Dragon Ball, anything can happen in that regard at this point.

I think that's Goku the true villain in Dragon Ball. Goku pursuit for power and getting stronger and stronger it's quite disastrous. Can you even argue that Goku is even good or is he just neutral. Because his selfishness put a lot of people at risk. And this is only a Goku trait every other person on the dragon ball team if they had that power they would have killed Moro right away. But because of Goku pursuit of power and willing to endanger the earth and the universe itself but not killing moro kind of make me feel that he's a villain that just wants to get more powerful with his zenkai boost and learning more about his opponents.
Goku isn't doing this out of a desire to get stronger, he is doing it in pursuit of justice. Merus's lessons have gotten through to Goku, and now he has a sense of justice that Kid Goku lacked. I know everyone hates Goku's decision to spare Moro, but I love it. It shows Goku's development from a kid who killed his opponents without a second thought, to an adult who tries to use reason and mercy to to get through to his opponents.

I think Tien is his best case and Tien wasn't even that bad of a person it was mercenary Tao that was making Tien a bad guy. Piccolo was because of Gohan treating him like an actual person. Vegeta became good because of Bulma and his love for trunks. (a bit from kakarot) Majin Buu turned good because of Mr Satan Besides that everyone else still remained villainous. Frieza still have his galactic army Cell died a villain. Hit is still an assassin. Goku black is died a villain. Besides the partial work of Vegeta who have Goku actually converted to the good side

Krillin was going to end Vegeta during the sayain arc, but Goku told him not to. Vegeta was going to end Majin Buu at the end of the buu arc, but Goku stopped him. Goku is the only one who decided to bring Frieza back, and now Frieza is developing into a good person. Having an army doesn't make you a bad person. Piccolo changed because Goku allowed him to live at the end of the budokai tenkaichi. Hit doesn't count because he isn't a villain, he was simply forced by champa to represent his universe. Goku Black and Cell are really the only two villains who Goku never spared, and the only reason he didn't spare them is because they were both stronger than him. Goku only spares people when he is stronger than them, becauses he essentially beats them to their senses.

He’s trying to reform him. The entire reason for the senzu bean was to let Moro know that his evil ways will never work again, and to force him to join the good side. After that didn’t work, goku was actually about to kill him.

Thanks for making this video. Almost verbatim what I have been telling people. These qualities that Goku has in not wanting to kill, seeing this extremely rare power and gifted individual not only wanted to spare them but to change their hearts is what makes Goku saint-like. Its what makes his title 'Son' make sense. I strongly disagree with people saying this is bad Goku writing. On the contrary this is 11/10 Goku writing and people just dont know Goku like they think they do. If anything him giving him the bean was a solid take just for that sexy ass PEC Flex we get that breaks Moros arm immediately after. There's a bunch of universes each with a destroyer god for him to try his strength against, there's angels, there's the grand priest, there's plenty of characters that untill this point were deemed untouchable, and would now be a good test of his strength. But as he grows older and more powerful, we also see him becoming more humane. After training with Kami, he decided to let Piccolo live. He later on decided to let Vegeta live despite all the terrible things Vegeta had done. He even gets more merciful and humane when he offers Frieza a second chance back on Namek (unfortunately, Frieza didn't accept it). Even with Buu, Goku stopped Vegeta from ending Buu despite the threat that Fat Buu could eventually cause. In DBZ, he was most humane when we saw him ask for Kid Buu to be brought back to life as a good guy despite all the terrible things Kid Buu had done. Right now is the peak of his development into a more humane person. Despite all the terrible things Moro had already done, despite the threat Moro poses, despite the gods and angels wishes, Goku is letting Moro live. This is what I was talking about when I mentioned him becoming more and more humane.

Finally, someone not hating on Goku's decision like his character hasn't grown or "learnt" from the past. Been saying this for ages, Goku's past has shown countless times that people can change. Yamcha, Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, Androids 16/17/18, Majin Buu, even Frieza has warmed up a little! (I say this cause after TOP, his whole demeanor has changed, he could of destroyed earth in an instant when Broly was rampaging, yet he got beat down by him for over an hour instead, he's by no means good, but he's certainly not as Evil). Bad guys generally have been brought up that way or never seen being good as a positive thing. Would Frieza or Vegeta of seen ANYONE that was kind, merciful, compassionate AND powerful enough to rival them. No. Goku was raised to be kind, caring and good, by many influences through his life (Grandpa, Master Roshi, Kami, King Kai). Goku realises these positive influences he's had and in a way, when he see's these bad guys come along, he feels sad that they've never seen, or been shown a better way. He shows that you CAN be the most powerful person in the universe, and it's not a weakness to rely on others, or to be caring, kind, merciful etc..and guess what, he does it even though it's HARDER work! We could all learn a lesson from Goku. I will say on the whole Cell situation he gave Cell a senzu and everyone thought it was stupid as well, he had hoped to do the same with Cell I'm sure, but he himself wasn't strong enough to beat Cell, and Gohan lost control of himself, obviously taunting him and putting him into a corner and that's when an enemy is most dangerous, so Goku only then asked for Gohan to end it.
Goku always was good at learning a new skill really quick. It took master roshi so many years to master the komi blasts and it took goku like 1 day with no training. It kinda makes sense why he learned ui so quickly.
I was thinking this could've been a nice new season to start off dragon ball again. But the way its coming to a close. It seems like this arc would be better off made into a nice, well animated, 3 hour movie. And then the new series can start off of there.

Right let’s get this out of the way, yes it’s similar to cell, but it’s completely different in context. Goku didn’t give cell a senzu bean so he could fight him later, he did it to get gohan to go beyond. All the times he’s let someone live to fight them again it’s worked, piccolo, vegeta, hit, broly. Why wouldn’t he give moro this chance when he could easily kill him.

Okay after this chapter finally releasing I'm happy with the way they dealt with it. It was such a huge gamble seeing as how controversial Goku's sparing of Moro was but after this it makes sense. I'm not at all ashamed to say I was one of the people who judged this chapter even before it came out because Goku kept Moro alive which would do two things from a glance: Disregard Goku's recent growth as a character, or Retain his original development and give it purpose

I think that's Goku the true villain in Dragon Ball. Goku pursuit for power and getting stronger and stronger it's quite disastrous.
Can you even argue that Goku is even good or is he just neutral. Because his selfishness put a lot of people at risk.
And this is only a Goku trait every other person on the dragon ball team if they had that power they would have killed Moro right away. But because of Goku pursuit of power and willing to endanger the earth and the universe itself but not killing moro kind of make me feel that he's a villain that just wants to get more powerful with his zenkai boost and learning more about his opponents.
Goku isn't doing this out of a desire to get stronger, he is doing it in pursuit of justice. Merus's lessons have gotten through to Goku, and now he has a sense of justice that Kid Goku lacked. I know everyone hates Goku's decision to spare Moro, but I love it. It shows Goku's development from a kid who killed his opponents without a second thought, to an adult who tries to use reason and mercy to to get through to his opponents.

Krillin was going to end Vegeta during the sayain arc, but Goku told him not to. Vegeta was going to end Majin Buu at the end of the buu arc, but Goku stopped him. Goku is the only one who decided to bring Frieza back, and now Frieza is developing into a good person. Having an army doesn't make you a bad person. Piccolo changed because Goku allowed him to live at the end of the budokai tenkaichi. Hit doesn't count because he isn't a villain, he was simply forced by champa to represent his universe. Goku Black and Cell are really the only two villains who Goku never spared, and the only reason he didn't spare them is because they were both stronger than him. Goku only spares people when he is stronger than them, becauses he essentially beats them to their senses.

Thanks for making this video. Almost verbatim what I have been telling people. These qualities that Goku has in not wanting to kill, seeing this extremely rare power and gifted individual not only wanted to spare them but to change their hearts is what makes Goku saint-like. There's a bunch of universes each with a destroyer god for him to try his strength against, there's angels, there's the grand priest, there's plenty of characters that untill this point were deemed untouchable, and would now be a good test of his strength. This is just the usual writing of Goku not taking shit seriously and others paying the price (see Gohan getting beaten half to death by Cell, the entire gang dying cause Goku didn't kill Majin Buu on the spot, not using instant transmition to defend his friends from Freeza before Trunks showed up, all of the tournament of power saga, etc etc etc). The fact that Goku, who was furious at first, that Merus died to save his planet, has now allowed Moro a second chance to regenerate, fuse with the earth, and take over Merus power. For a character that yelled at Jiren ''Those who hurt my friends I will never forgive'' that is pathetic writing, and again gives Goku 0 character development. He's just white now I guess.
Another reason Goku spared Moro is because he is becoming more humane. I'm not sure if everyone remembers this, but Goku had a conversation with Merus earlier in this arc and Merus and this happened:
Goku: It's just the strongest guy's out there tend be villain's out there, so...
Meerus: Yet despite their wicked deed you prefer not to end their lives, why is that?
Goku: Cuz if they rise up to do bad stuff again, I just have to become stronger by then right?
Goku: I'll fight 'em as many times as it takes, and at some point just maybe they'll decide to join the good side.

But as he grows older and more powerful, we also see him becoming more humane. After training with Kami, he decided to let Piccolo live. He later on decided to let Vegeta live despite all the terrible things Vegeta had done. He even gets more merciful and humane when he offers Frieza a second chance back on Namek (unfortunately, Frieza didn't accept it). Even with Buu, Goku stopped Vegeta from ending Buu despite the threat that Fat Buu could eventually cause. In DBZ, he was most humane when we saw him ask for Kid Buu to be brought back to life as a good guy despite all the terrible things Kid Buu had done. Right now is the peak of his development into a more humane person. Despite all the terrible things Moro had already done, despite the threat Moro poses, despite the gods and angels wishes, Goku is letting Moro live. This is what I was talking about when I mentioned him becoming more and more humane.

Finally, someone not hating on Goku's decision like his character hasn't grown or "learnt" from the past. Been saying this for ages, Goku's past has shown countless times that people can change. Yamcha, Tien, Piccolo, Vegeta, Androids 16/17/18, Majin Buu, even Frieza has warmed up a little! (I say this cause after TOP, his whole demeanor has changed, he could of destroyed earth in an instant when Broly was rampaging, yet he got beat down by him for over an hour instead, he's by no means good, but he's certainly not as Evil).
Bad guys generally have been brought up that way or never seen being good as a positive thing. Would Frieza or Vegeta of seen ANYONE that was kind, merciful, compassionate AND powerful enough to rival them. No.
Goku was raised to be kind, caring and good, by many influences through his life (Grandpa, Master Roshi, Kami, King Kai). Goku realises these positive influences he's had and in a way, when he see's these bad guys come along, he feels sad that they've never seen, or been shown a better way.
He shows that you CAN be the most powerful person in the universe, and it's not a weakness to rely on others, or to be caring, kind, merciful etc..and guess what, he does it even though it's HARDER work! We could all learn a lesson from Goku.
I will say on the whole Cell situation he gave Cell a senzu and everyone thought it was stupid as well, he had hoped to do the same with Cell I'm sure, but he himself wasn't strong enough to beat Cell, and Gohan lost control of himself, obviously taunting him and putting him into a corner and that's when an enemy is most dangerous, so Goku only then asked for Gohan to end it.

Goku always was good at learning a new skill really quick. It took master roshi so many years to master the komi blasts and it took goku like 1 day with no training. It kinda makes sense why he learned ui so quickly.

I was thinking this could've been a nice new season to start off dragon ball again. But the way its coming to a close. It seems like this arc would be better off made into a nice, well animated, 3 hour movie. And then the new series can start off of there.
