  • Roc Marciano and The Alchemist are two of the hardest working people in hip hop. They've both become masters of their crafts and amassing large fanbases of extremely loyal supporters. And members of both fanbases have been begging for these two artists to do a full collaborative project. The Alchemist's soundtrack-style beats seemed like a perfect match for Roc Marciano's smooth but vivid rap style. On August 26th, fans got their wish. So did this collaboration pay off? Or did it end up equating to a highly anticipated dud? Listen to the fellas discuss it and then leave your thoughts in the comment section!

Well the Elephant Man was a man in Britain with these insane facial deformities. He was an attraction for people to come see during the early 20th century. When he passed doctors came to study the bones to figure out how these deformities could happen.
I think Roc is drawing a parallel between himself and the Elephant Man. The idea of monetizing your own trauma or pain and the implications of that. In one track he says "I've been inspiring you donkeys for a decade". Maybe he feels studied like the Elephant Man's Bones as well by the people in the wave he started.

I'm bumping the album almost every day since release, and i'm still catching some new bars from Roc, when listening to it. He's not that sharp/aggressive as in Reloaded with his pengame, but i found him to be more relaxed/subtle in his delivery, wich i prefer. the bars on this project hit harder because he's getting preciser explaining himself. The Alchemist went crazy too, with the nuanced/cinematic production. Loved the boldy joint. He killed his verse. Missed Ka too on this one ;-) But, it was a match made in heaven. An instant classic for sure and one of the best projects in 2022 so far in my opinion👋 2022 is a great year for hiphop. Incredible releases!

    A Sublime Album.
Marci still writes clever and Sublime but he's flow and delivery has changed and that may be okay or not, depends on the ears.
TOGETHER, I kinda wanted more? but what they gave is just as great. I wish the production was MORE Alchemist and the Rapping MORE "Rocky" Marciano. After my 15th plus listen of The Elephant Man’s Bones, I can say that it's on par with RELOADED... kinda
    8.5/10.
    1. MARCBERG/RELOADED
    2. THE ELEPHANT MAN’S BONES
    3. RR/RR2
    4. Marci Beaucoup/The Pimpire Strikes Back
    5. Mt. MARCI
    6. Other albums...
Alchemist and Roc are both gifted in what they do.
