This helped me fix my 2004 ski doo 800ho. Thank you! I had cleaned the main jets, but didn't take out the small pilot jets that have the tiny holes on the sides. These jets were clogged, and the hole that goes through the long way is tiny. The smallest needle I had in the house wouldn't fit through to clean. I soaked in carb cleaner, blew through with air, and could finally push fishing line through when cleaned. Take your time to find the correct flat head screwdriver to remove jets, not something you want to strip out.
It's called an emulsion tube. Those holes pull air through to atomize the fuel mixture. That's pretty much always the problem when having running issues, or will only run on choke. Blame ethanol for that..

I think you just answered one of my questions. On my engine, I cannot see through that jet you are showing, but the little side holes are clear. I wasn't sure if I should be able to see right through the jet as well (this engine sat for 7 years) I cleaned everything and fired it up and it sounds great, but would only idle with choke out. Looks like I'll take the carb off again and clean this jet so I can see through it. Thanks for the video
Torch tip cleaner works great to get into those tiny holes if anyone's looking for something small enough to get in there thats what I found worked best or small guitar string but torch tip cleaners are designed for this so your best to go grab yourself a set for couple bucks 👍
The carburetor. Still mystifying us 100 years + on . Nobody wants to pull that mother and dismantle it , put it back together after it’s been sitting in the garage for 6 months .
I cleaned them as well even with a wire through every jet hole. It still only runs with the choke out . Btw it’s just a small trail master go kart carb
Yeah, did all that a million times, does not fix the problem. Want some other answer that says its something other than the idle jet being clogged, because it's not. I can fill the idle jet well with solvent and it will siv right through it. Rebuilt this thing with new parts 50 different times, putting it on and off again, with the same problem. Only runs on choke, and stumbles when you twist throttle. It's not the idle jet, pilot jet, or master jet. I replaced that whole jet with one with clean holes., and made sure fluid goes through all 3 jets.
@@chriswillis9150ok so I owned 5 pw 80s and all of them have this exact issue, except I fixed the issue everytime. Make sure carb is spotless, check plugs,do not mess with the injector only replace oil when needed just slight tweaks will mess up the choke on these things, make sure your bike is getting enough air flow, and triple check your filter
All in all tho the choke is there for a reason, if you hop on your bike for the first time in a week and try to ride without your choke it’s gonna bog and stall, it’s gonna run like poop lol, You need to warm up the bike with choke on for a good 20-30 minutes then turn the choke off with the bike still running hot, this will basically get the bike used to running without choke, I promise if you listen to these tips your bike will run fine.
hey buddy, those holes at the sides, is that item supposed to have whole all the way through top to bottom? because mine is having clear side holes, but top to bottom is blocked and I cant push whatver is blocking
awesome vid clear and informative. Question, mine starts and runs fine, idles fine, revs up smooth and fine, but i can throttle up to 98% no issue and even hold it there still runs fine, but if i twist that 2% to throttle stop, it dies instantly i let go of the throttle keeps idling over and again,? any ideas? throttle seems clean filter clean. cheerrs
I have a 92 Polaris trailboss 350 2 stroke it gets stuck wide open when we first got it was good but the throttle was angled down and wasn't in a normal or comfortable position so I angled it where I thought it would be and that's when the problem started I've readjusted the cable I've twisted it back towards where it was to begin with but it's still sticking would you have any ideas
My 2000 YZ250 has a PWK38S carb. I was reading online that this carb has a power jet. What is a power jet? I only see two jets: the main and pilot. Thanks
On my 2001 500 HO I choke it in cold weather and have to hold the throttle a little while it warms up to keep it running. Once it warms up it idles and runs fine. The idle is almost on the high side when warmed up. But when cold the idle seems low. Does anyone know what that issue is?
@@agcobileboqwana9923 I cleaned out the carb and did a total carb rebuild and jet kit. Also replace the carb to intake boots because they had rips in it. Runs mint now. So it must of been one of them issues.

You were just the right answer. Pressure washer was running choke open only and I cleaned it up and it runs perfect.

Yooo if this work I will watch like all yr videos and subscribe
Thank you so much! My carb rebuild kit didn't come with that particular part, so now I'll take it apart and look at that more closely.
Very informational quick to the issue, going to go try that on my Coleman mini bike thank you
Got the same problem with my woof splitter. Will only run with the choke pulled out once I press it back in the wood splitter shuts off.
RIGHT ON. I needed this video. thank you

I dismantled and clean those holes and more. My runs rough only on choke. Might air/mix screw be off too?
Nice and to the point, Thanks!

I’m so lost I bought a new carb and it will only run with choke on doesn’t make any sense to me jets are clean not sure what else it could be
Same here! Tryna see what's the problem. You found the problem?
No I have no clue

You bet!
THERE IS NO POINT IN CLEANING CARBURETORS UNLESS YOU THOROUGHLY CLEAN OUT THE FUEL TANK ALSO OTHERWISE CARBURETORS WILL JUST CLOG UP ALL OVER AGAIN.
you could do with a check up Bro
Awesome
Thanks for the video
Excellent
Good shit! Thanks brother!
would this also cause a carb to leak ?
