Two Good Reasons To Attend Tech Conferences | Voltlog

I’m sure that some of my viewers have so much more experience with going to conferences and similar events but I’m also sure there are viewers who haven’t been to such events yet so I wanted to do this video and talk about why I think it’s important to go to these events. Very simply put the two good reasons are networking and knowledge gain.

I would suggest periodically searching for the type of events you're interested in. I went to Linux festivals at one time and I would search periodically to see if there was any new information about it.
For the last 2 years I've gone to MRRF the Midwest Rep Rap Festival in the Midwestern U.S. this is a 3D printing festival. I start checking a month before the event. I also follow several RUclips creators that attend the event.

The problem I have is that by the time I find out about an event, it's already happened. I see others posting about their attendance after the fact and by that time it's too late. I guess I'm just not connected to the correct places where announcements of such events are made. Any recommendations?

Eventbrite, LinkedIn, Twitter are usually where I find them out

May I suggest planning to attend the event you missed, in the following calendar year? You will have a whole year of planning and getting "show and tell" ready!

For me twitter/linkedin together with the suggestion from @bluesteelbass in this thread to plan for events that I have missed. That's how I got started, I watched people going to EmbeddedWorld so I planned to go next year.
