  • This is a big one guys. In this I go over all the necessary components to learn Ilya Indrulinas' "whirl" style of beadroll, as well as some other fun variations.

Muscle bones is the weave different in the low grip or does it go in the same direction as the standard grip

So it looks like you've switched to the Red Table Apollo. I was about to put in an order, but they seem to be sold out for now. Do you prefer them to the AroundSquare Titans?

He was talking about this on his IG live stream the other night, he likes lighter beads because, the weight of the Titans for example, make his fingers swell up when he does rolls.

Great tutorial as always! But I disagree with calling the first trick you're doing an "anti-spring". After watching this, I tried doing the wrap the opposite way, but instead of unwrapping it back into a pass like you show( e.g. 1:49), I just used the tension like a normal spring. It leads into fakie or top/high grip depending on if you start from mid/low grip respectively. I would consider what you show in the video to be a spring rewind, or something of the sort. The trick name "anti-spring" I feel fits better if you don't unwrap( e.g. 1:49) and use the tension like the normal spring does to go up in grips.

I did want to initially just call them "unwraps," but it's too vague and it's too similar to the look of a normal spring to not include some sort of term denoting that it is a variation of the spring concept. I still like the name anti-spring, more so because you aren't relying on tension to change grips, and that's kind of the point, it shares a lot of characteristics of a spring aside from the part where it actually gets tension sprung to another grip. I'm interested in seeing what you mean by what you have been doing, and hey if you want you should make a tutorial on them, we can always use more.

Whirls and half whirls are very difficult to learn.
