- A very popular car in the used car market and a great car when it was new, you just cannot go wrong for a first car with this vehicle. Just remember, the design dates back to late 2005 so don't expect to find the latest tech features.
"For a reliable and enjoyable-to-drive small car, you're not going to do much better than the 2010 Honda Civic."
(Edmunds.com) Авто/Мото
Watching this in 2019. Still a fan of Redline. Man has its a big difference from then to now. Great improvements. Still nice and thorough. I own the 2009 lx and I just like to watch reviews about my own car 😂
lol I had an 2010 Honda civic but i bought an 2015 Honda civic and the difference is soo big!
The best car is always your car
@@aarongameplays4304 I just got a 2010 but with only 15k miles wish I coulda got a newer one how do you like it?
lmao same. i got the 2010 lx
No matter how low I put my headphone volumes the opening scene always seems to blare in my ear
I agree I don't need to be deaf.
The 8th gen Civic is the best looking Civic ever produced. I was very disappointed with the 2012 redesign. The 2013 refresh looks better than the 2012, but the 8th gen is still the best!
What about the latest civic. I think it looks sexy
Every time we test drive a new sedan car and sit back in our old 2009 Civic, we go back home not with a new car but with many ? in our head. This how much we love our Civic.
I have saying the same for many years. Absolutely cleanest design ever.
8th gen and 2013 Civics are my favourite. The 2008, 2010, or the 2013 ones are my go-tos now if I ever want a small car for me.
06 07 08 best
I love the design of this car and I’m so excited to get it on Friday with only 55,000 miles, I feel so blessed. I can’t stand the way some newer cars look. ❤️❤️
How is it? I got 2009 civic with 87k miles
My 07 got totaled and now im getting a 10 model. This thing is by far the best driving car ive ever driven. It responds really well, its fun as all hell to drive around in, and its surprisingly roomy for its size. More than any other car ive driven, the 8th gen civic feels almost like an extension of your body in how well it drives. Highly recommend.
Man I just totalled my 06 couple like a freakin idiot and that's why I'm here. But I'm addicted to these 8th gens. So easy to work on, I know how to pretty much fix everything so I'm also looking to get a 10 LX-S. Really disappointed these don't have a trunk popper on the fob. But the interior and EX wheels are their major draw.
Have one of these 5 years now. Best car ever. Very reliable and still works great.
Hi Its 2020 do u still have the civic
Hi!! I just bought one with 98k miles. How many did yours have?
Or does rather
@@joelrios8975 hows it the civic been handling?
@@abe310 I just saw this but omg like a dream!! I need to get new tires and new inner/outer tie rods but it’s amazing still!!!!
8th gen Honda Civics are still one of the best in their class, not going to lie. I'd love to get one of these if I get a car for myself.
I still drive my 2009 Civic LX that I got brand new. Its got 145K miles on it. It's been reliable for me and I love driving it, more than my brother's 2020 Civic Sport (it's too low, so hard to get out of).
I had to replace the starter, AC compressor, front wheel bearings, 4 window side weather molds. I
Im proud to own a 8th gen 2006 civic. All grey with tinted windows and i gotta say the body style is the best modern car design vs its class competitors.
Thanks for making the video!
I have a 2009 Civic LX and I love it! Its great to drive!
This is the best car in its class and that interior is beautiful. Love that dashboard!
Just got one about a week ago... LOVE IT!
I completely agree. They look amazing, and whether your 16 years old or 61 years old, anyone looks good driving it. And it's very ahead of it's time. Hell, the big three still used 4 speeds in their compact cars until 2011! And aside from a couple cheap pieces, this is really well put together. And the seats are really comfy.
Great Review!
in Canada we get the sunroof, power trunk, and temperature gauge!
Great Review Of 2010 Honda Civic LX-S. 😁
THANK YOU for making this review because im thinking about getting one for college
Great review. Thanks.
Thanks for the video.
Love you’re videos man! Especially the Honda ones! I’ve had to 8th gen civics right now I have a 2010 ex. In the video when you were comparing the time levels you said that that the ex 2010 model comes with automatic off headlights. Unfortunately that’s incorrect lol. Anyways love the vids man
Es un automobil extraordinario.Muy bueno.
i have one 2009 and 0 problems!! best car of the world
How about today ( 2020 ) ?
@@brandongant618 Now is really like the first day. Excellent car..!
I would love one of these. I prefer the EX-L model
Awesome review, just bought a silver LX-S today! Was stuck between a Focus and Mazda3, then saw this review and test drove the Civic and had to have it. Got this car for around the same price as the LX models in the area and the added options are very nice. I've owned a 97 Corolla and then a 97 (loaded) Saturn SL2. I was very comfortable driving the Civic from the start and the dash/view wasn't all that strange. Only thing I'm missing is a trunk popper (the Saturn had that).
8th gens are special
I hear Honda's are much sportier and more fun to drive the then Toyota's, Nissan's and many other brands out their, is that right?
Zohirul Islam Jewel My folks have a '14 Corolla. It's nice and quiet. Really responsive. But the get up and go is a little late. My girlfriend drives a '16 Versa. Her first car was a 2001 Nissan and she had that up until 2015 when a drunk driver plowed into it at a gas station. She swears by them.
The only Honda I've ever touched was a push mower so I don't know how they drive, but as long as you're getting 25+ mpg and you can get on the highway without hitting 6rpm, I think you're good. I'll be buying this exact same model Civic next week. Great price for the performance.
comicbookprodigy995 did you buy it ? Loving mine 07 EX
Way ahead of your time Sofyan!
The color reminds me of Ruby Flare Pearl on my 2015 Toyota Camry.
Great video Sofyan! I'm really thinking about one but they are SO common (which is both good and bad...) and I'm not a common person.
Great reviews thank you what I like about you reviews is that I know all the details I did not know that the lx did not have a outside temp gauge on the dash now I know to get an ex. I will get this generation civic over the new Nissan sentra
Great review, I just purchased a '10 EX & was curious about the upgrades that I got with mine comparative to the LX-S model. Cheers!
Hey, how’s your 2010 civic ex been the past 6 years? Wondering how reliable these are, I know it’s Honda but I heard these have some issues here and there
I'm in love with this 2010 Honda Civic LX-S
Gotta love the R18s!
We have this exact car with 130k miles on it. Only repair was the a/c compressor which was about $800
I just got my mine! Mines a 2011 Honda Civic LX-S with only 42,000 miles on it! This one on the video has 48,000 miles on it and the video was published years ago! Perfect car for school and work!
how much you pay
flyer boy I just bought a 2010 Civic LX for 7,988.
Did you have a jerking proble with the transmission?
No
Hi its 2020 do you still own ir civic?
Its a great car, you wont regret it. Looks awesome too :P
Thanks for this review ^^ been looking at a lot of 8th Gen Civics to buy for my first car, and I stumbled on a 2010 that looks great, going to the dealership in about ~3 weeks 😊
'going to the dealership in about 3 weeks'
LOL Car will be long SOLD!
@@yukonstriker1703 you’d be surprised lol, lots of the civics I was looking for sold quick but there were a few that stayed on the dealer’s lot for quite some time
@@triv4555 So did you get it
@@GETINLOSER I didn’t, I got a 2017 Corolla instead, but so far I have no complaints. It rides like a dream ✨
I own a 2009 lxs in manual and love everything about it!
What color?
I believe that you can get the 60/40 Split Rear Seats as an Option on the LX Models because my Aunty has an 06 Civic LX and hers has the 60/40 Split Rear Seats
Wow I was on my way to pick up my 9th gen the I seen this one. Good god it's great except I like the tachometer/speedometer better on the 2012. Do they get the same gas mileage the prices are great but MPG is my main concern.
Edit: Also the 2012 is very atmospheric and roomy is this the same rent the front seat area? That and I seriously hope theirs about the same feel as far as blind spots. Is it?
I'm really thinking of getting this car.
Still a very nice looking car if you ask me. Not all the features of the EX, but more than enough for me. I still like this body style better than the new ones and my '96 Civic now has over 200K miles on it, so it might be time for an upgrade. Good review too!
nice :D this is my fav car, even my dad has a blue normal lx one of these
I like this car.
it looks very comfortable..
I have a 2011 Lxs manual and love it . I get 33 mpg combined mileage and have a heavy foot. My only gripe is the parking brake placement. I think someone from the Jackass show must have placed it there.
Such great cars! I like this SO much better than the new generation! it's weird how the new one actually looks older lol
I'm glad you mentioned that the A/C isn't as strong as the 7th gen. I drove an '09 EX as a loaner car for a day while my '05 Taurus was having some work done and I definitely felt that the A/C wasn't as cold as my dad's '05 LX. I wonder if the '12 has a stronger A/C. I also noticed that when I tested a '10 Fit. I also think the styling still looks fresh and I prefer the '09-'11 styling versus the '06-'08 styling.
This car is the best choice for the young professionals out there!
I really like the 8th gen. Civic!
That’s a pretty nice car.
I love the eighth gen LX-S!!!! Especially with the black interior and the leather steering wheel. We had an 11 EX, and it was really nice, but I like the seventh gens better.
11 was last 8th gen.. the 7th generation was less powerful less efficient heavier narrower and frame was 35 % less stiff than 8th gens
not sure if you mentioned it but is there an auxiliary plug to hook up an iPod/iphone into for music?
in the 06 model it had it so im pretty sure this model has it aswell
I have a 2010 Civic LX-S and it has the AUX port. So did my 2009 LX and 2008 LX
I have this car, same year and color and I love it. The only thing that sucks is the paint. The clear coat is starting to peel on the roof and the trunk lid. I plan on keeping it till it dies.
Check again, the 1.8L engine has had i-VTEC since it came out in 2006.
my dealer ripped me off. I got steel wheels =(
I live in Canada. Just got back from testing a 2012 Civic that I'm interested in. On park gear, I floored the gas to see how far the RPM would go, and it would cut off at 5000. It didn't stick at 5000. It would like lose throttle for a bit (go back down to around 4500) and kick back again. It felt like I was gassing it in short bursts when I was just holding it steady. Is this some kind of feature? Cause I tried two other 2012 Civics in the lot just to check and they all did the exact same thing.
Albert Monteiro Revving your car in park is not the best thing to do but it stops at 5000 because the car has a rev limiter. While it is in park it won't let you floor it past 5000. But you shouldn't be doing that anyway.
This design looks way better than their over the top current ones.
Fantastic cars. Still miss my 2010 LX. Yes, the front view is a bit strange with the windshield, dash, etc. Sort of minivan like. Still awesome cars, though. In 80,000 miles I only changed oil, tires, and brakes. Only time I didn't like it was in rain and snow - they are a bit light to really feel like you have secure handling.
The windshield is raked like sports cars a steep rake
Tires are what make the difference.
Great review but you're wrong about the vtec. It isn't kicking in at 5k rpm like you said, i-vtec in the R18 engine kicks in at 1500 to 3500 rpm to save fuel, not for performance.
Nice car. I am driving a Honda Civic 1.8L VTi, iVtec 2009 facelift model. Great and stylish. Good steering and very comfortable. Nevertheless, it's not for the power lover.
does reving and engine too much or too high of a rpm mess up the car in any way?
Just bought this exactly the same car :) my first car.
Cool' I'm looking to buy me a car by the end of this year and this one looks nice , and since you have this car and just brought it , how does it drive?
It runs really good and I really love it. The size is just perfect not too big not too small.
Kalisha Streeter. It drives really well too :)
That's what's good , with that being said , makes me want to try out ahonda civic , either ex l or this model ..
I bought mine 5 months ago. A 2011 model and let me tell you it's really smooth and fun to drive. Also one thing you'll love about it is that it's good on gas.
Madison Ziegler If you put 92 octane in there it will run better and give you better mileage, especially in the winter. You'll notice a real different in the car, it'll drive smoother, better start ups, acceration and fuel economy improve. It's actualyl a high compression engine but because of how honda designed the oil sprayers they can make it run on 87. But the computer will detect the 92 and it'll run much better. :)
Just bought a 09 lxs, first car
Nice car
haha you actually get a nice even amount of ppl who love the way Honda structures their options and those who hate it. I'm kind of in the middle. I like how I don't have confusing option packages to deal with but I dislike how I have to choose a NAV model to get SAT radio or BT for example
I miss my Honda Civic 2006 LX !
My fave Civic. Looking at getting one soon! I'll just say now in mid-July 2023 the 2012 Civic might've been ugly but not as bad as today's Accord!
How do you open the trunk on this Honda Civic? Is there a button inside the cabin or on the trunk, or do you have to unlock it with the actual key like on older vehicles?
The EX has a button on the remote. There's a lever on the floor by the driver to pop the trunk.
There one thing that this civic had that the new one doesnt. This one has the floor mounted gas pedal. very reminiscent to acura. The new has the old hanging pedals. IMO the floor mounted pedal is better because it better on your feet
My 2010 Honda Civic had a Bluetooth touch screen radio with everything the lxs has what is myne
I love civics 😀
Cake342 SO DO I IT MY FAV CAR
Me too i like the civic over all of its competitors
great car
Boring? This car is the best looking car in its class
is this has vsa?
ahorraré tanto, espero tener uno de estos en 3 años... espero :/
santiago yescas , lo pudistes comprar ?
in oct 2014, is this a good buy or a 2011 ? how about the cruze?
2011 civic has the same body style as the 2009 and 2010 civic. (Refreshed in 2009)
Cruze is a shit car. I test drove the 2013 malibu (bigger version of cruze) and it was downright boring and pathetic to drive. Not only that but Cruze is a fleet vehicle where 40% of its sales are from rental companies and businesses. Interior quality is ALOT worse on the Cruze than the Civic. Not worth it.
ok thanks!
My brother has a 2011 Civic EX-L and it doesn't have automatic headlights
The 8th generation LX from Japan is the best fully loaded
can u do a 2009 saturn vue please
Would you ever trade your Fit for this gen Civic?
I miss my 2011 lxs urban titanium metallic now I have a 2020 forester sport
I still have on that was my sisters. Mine is white and now it’s 10 years old
That's weird. I have an 09 LX-S in Canada and it has the front and rear disc brakes, a moonroof and the trunk release on the keychain. Maybe the Canadian model varies from the US model. Even though you get more standard features on the civic's competitors, all around this is a great car and reliable has hell.
Oh wow! Yeah I live in the US and my 11 LX-S doesn't have any of those, but I wish it did. lol
I have '07 Civic LX. I do have an external temp display. Sadly, there is only 1 110V outlet. Don't spend more money on buying a LX-S over a LX. You get only a nicer looking exhaust tip, spoiler and a leather covered steering. You would still not have boot release button, single 110V outlet, no map pocket, and no steering controls. My 2004 Aveo had 2 110V outlets :-(. The AC does feel weak at times but is still adequate. The dash is low, may be a bit long. But the low dash makes visibility great. Newer cars have high dash and not so great visibility. Does 100 kph at 2k rpm, pulls strongly if you rev it high. Looks better than the current civics, not over done yet sporty and elegant. It is a little noisy, you hear tire, road, and wind noise, paint chipping, and wiper motor problems.
go for it
I have this car... until now. Heheh and i love it! 🤪
How long have you had it? Any major issues? Looking to get one soon
@@kingdoge69 Had my car since 2009, 11 going 12 years.
Some of the issue I encountered :
1) Engine Support (left side, once) - i think this is a known issue
2) Backup Reverse Light Switch (once)
3) Radiator fan (3 times) - :-(
4) Master Door Switch Issue (minor)
5) Rear Wheel Bearing (this is just wear and tear)
For 11 years, that's about it. :-) I'm very happy with my Honda. :-)
I passed my G licence in Ontario Canada on this car
i'd recommend the si trim or ex coupe. The coupes rear end looks so good IMO.
P.S. I love how your channel is "not avaliable."...
That color... :o
The Fiesta/Focus does have less road noise, its always been a Honda thing lol
The civic has independent suspension all around (vs torsion bean in the Corolla) and a 5 speed tranny vs. the 4 speed in the Corolla.
The new civic is basically a corolla with more advanced technology. I really wish Honda would re-work the civic, especially the dash. I don't really like its layout. You always run into curbs cause you can't see how close you are to the curb. And I would much prefer a analog speedo. Forget digital.
How much is this 1 going for
I want one in black. My cousin has an I think and EX in black. I like Civics. I also like Corolla’s. Because of reliability.
I got a black on black one, I'm getting it tinted soon. It's fantastic
2010 Honda Civic LX-S, 48,499 miles
So sad that the hatchback version wasn't sold in the U.S.
My 01 beetle has auto up and down windows on both sides
I find this generation of civic has better build quality versus the current generation Hope Honda improves that in the 2022 Civic.
This review wasn't boring at all
