None of this surprises me. I always thought of Tayra as a shady person. I am a bit shocked that the girls weren't paid, had to starve and then those who won never got the money or deal they were promised. Can't believe that show lasted as long as it did. Many years ago I auditioned for the show (Canadian version). My parents were hoping I didn’t make it. They read the contract and not only are you not paid you have to pay for all your own travel expenses. For me that involved flying across the country and stay in a hotel for a week.

Tyra, Nigel Barker, and the two Jay's that worked for her, were all sadistic narcissists. They would make fun of these girls behind their backs, and even right to their faces! Some of those challenges those poor girls had to do were downright mean spirited and not to mention dangerous!! This show should have been sued.

@@imjoesan exactly! As I got older o realized this wasn’t a legit competition. It was all one big SCAM. Former contestants had a hard time getting a job after as companies wanted nothing to do with ANTM contestants. The show is a joke to them. It’s more like a survival show. The ANTM title is misleading
They can't sue. The contract that they have to sign says basically they'll put up, with anything, and won't sue. I helped someone fill out an application and I asked her if she was sure that she's cool with everything, and she said yes.
So basically the show was as fake as everything about her. I watched it years ago, and as the seasons came and went, the quality of the show went with it. So i lost interest.

Seeing behind the scenes I used to love watching this show but is very different when watching it/if watching than before. Those ladies busted their ass at basically “Survivor “ Model version and worked hard to please her and the panel (love Twiggy and the Now version of Paulina “ but all that stress anger and anxiety to what?? Win nothing?? Yikes. That sucks they had enough ad companies that could’ve given the girls more

I was star struck until I met this lady. I cnt say much but she broke my spirit and I will never look up to a famous person ever again. Wat a witch. Sorry but she was not nice at all. But I left Hollywood after and happier now. Glad this didn't ruin me. Love yourself, be your own biggest fan. These girls aren't lying I can back them by my own experience. I used to love ANTM. Watching it back now, some of the stuff and things that were said to the contestants were straight up wrong.
This is how every reality/competition show is.. I almost made it on a reality show but because I refused to talk about how I was raped for TV they told me I was going to be too boring and viewers wouldn’t relate to me so I got cut.

When I was a teenager I once modeled for about 4 months my agent at the time put me in a young model house with Tyra, Kimora, and a few others Tyra was a nice girl I thought at first but later on she played nasty, it was the only time I ever modeled as a test because my parents refused a photo shoot involving kids underwear... while Kimoras mom supported my parents Tyras mom was very heavy with twisted satire my mom said my baby isn't going to show her body off for any amount of money... so that was my last time in that house... thank goodness I had an empathetic agent with morals... that was my bad experience with Tyra

The more I watch about this show, the more abusive I realize it was. I started getting PTSD just watching playbacks on youtube. How anyone could be a part of this is beyond me except the judges were in it for the money. What does surprise me though is why any of the contestants went back for an all-star season.

I'm not sure if anyone ever saw the live chat with Amyinat and Teyonna (apologies if I've spelled the names wrong) they mentioned that during Natalie's elimination, she let the judges have it. She cussed out Tyra, real hard, and walked off set! I would love to have seen that.

Ex-model here. I loved ANTM, but it's completely bogus, which made it all the more enjoyable at the time. If you're tall, really thin, and have the right kind of face, it's very easy to become a top model. Very, very few people fit this criteria, especially the last one. There was never anyone in AMTM who could ever have been a 'top' model, and no amount of effort or hard work would change this. Girls with the right attributes just go off and became top models, without the humiliation, degradation and bullying Tyra would have put them through, and being on the show wouldn't have helped their careers at all. I feel a bit bad for enjoying a show which made so many of its participants suffer now.
The whole Tiffany thing was so embarrassing since it was filmed for all to see. I feel bad for all these beautiful young women.

I was obsessed with this show.....I remember never missing a episode or a season for years. I remember no dvr really but I stopped watching maybe season 13,14........I tried to binge recently started from season 1, watched almost 20 seasons and realized it was watching me. I guess I just grew away from it....in hindsight allot of it seemed so stupid. I still love Tyra but the show wasn't even hosted by her and kept running. She made her empire,.. so much so.. she doesn't even need to be seen on her own show. The whole " first plus size, first Asian, first male, first deaf, first LGBTQ, first dark skin, first biracial blah blah blah" predictable...Eh. Old ass news.. Next.
I still haven't seen seasons 23 and 24; for some reason, they aren't on hulu or netflix.

Tyra banks emotional, narcissistic and manipulative abuse towards the girls is very triggering for me. I am a 31 year old woman and it took me until just this year to realize my own mother has been a Tyra Banks for as long as I can remember.

Even though Adrianne was my pick to win and I wasn't a fan, of Elyse, I can see why she was more successful. Tyra could have given Adrianne some guidance being that she was the first winner.
