bro idk there was something magical about those Pentax shots!!! Also in case u didn’t know, I just recently learned myself - bc of a concept called “diffraction,” most good lenses are sharper until about f/11 then they actually start to soften! So if it’s sunny you can definitely shoot at f/11 at 1/125 to be safe on the motion blur side PLUS get even sharper results. Keep killin it man 🔥

You have to do a DEEP CLEAN of your cameras after exposing them to sand like that. When you wiped off the Hasselblad with your shirt - that KILLED me.
Buy a can of compressed air and high pressure air all of your camera parts as much as you can disassemble them. Nothing kills a camera like sand.
I shot a Konica Hexar AF in sand dunes like that - it needed expensive service shortly after.

That looked exhausting! The Portra is nice of course and some great images there, but in a place like that, I'd have gone with Fujichome Provia with the 120 format. Provia is nice for portraits in the right light; many people don't like it, but I do. Would have looked stunning.

I always thought it would be great if they had a 45 degree finder for the Pentax. That was the only thing I missed from the 'Blad. And yeah, I know the Pentax has to be able to do vertical. So, no way to do a 45 finder that wouldn't weigh 1.67 tons.

Pro tip the old school National Geographic that had to be in the heat all day would stick white paper to their cameras to reflect the heat away.
I really wish they would bring back white cameras and lens to reflect heat. Black cameras and lens are good if the sun is out and your in really cold weather it can keep the electronics warm.
Robert Wong he shoots Olympus and he makes videos. He got a new Olympus camera and he went with the silver body because his black Olympus camera once in a blue moon shuts down. He said the heat is really bad sometimes in Malaysia.

My impression from limited use of the Hasselblad is that it is not well designed for use in a location like this, where there is a lot of dust, dirt and sand. It is not well sealed and can be quite delicate. The Pentax is a much tougher build. In fairness to Hasselblad, it was designed for use in a studio, and in that setting, it outclasses the Pentax easily.
