This has always been one of my favourite Nirvana songs to play on both guitar and bass, Krist's parts always so inventive and this one is definitely one of his best. He really needs to get more recognition for his playing because the way it fits with Kurt's guitar and Dave's guitar is so damn good, love Krist's playing
It's a great melody. Playing things beside the root note gives it harmonic interest. Plus, it doesn't clash with the guitar. Anddddd....switching sthings up between different verses/choruses just gives even further interest. What a great performance! Thanks for sharing and breaking it down.
This was my favorite song back then! I was 10 or 11 and about to teach myself guitar. I switched to bass when I was 14. But I remember digging Nirvana's bass sound before that already. Especially this one on Lithium.

The chorus bassline is one of my all time fav songs to play in D standard!
