I never realized just how expressive these birds can be. The way their eyes open up when they’re afraid, yet when they look at each other, it’s like you can sense love there. She lovingly looks at her baby and the dad, and the dad knows when and how to comfort her. I also love that the dad checked underneath the mom to make sure the baby was okay, and while he was doing that, the mother was grooming and comforting him too. Absolutely beautiful creatures

My wife and I live near a lake with a lot of trees. Two baby Barn Owls apparently fell out of their nest and landed in our yard. We looked for a nest and couldn't find one. The baby owls fell into our yard one at a time - about 24 hours apart. Each time, our dog had them cornered before we intervened - the owls were screaming and the dog was barking. The owls were so young they could not fly yet. But they sure could scream! We rescued them from our dog and brought them in our house. I dropped a towel on them and they quickly calmed down. We put them in our guest bathroom behind the shower doors in the bathtub. We kept them for 2 weeks. We fed them feeder mice starting with "pinkies" then "fuzzies". Eventually, we upgraded their diet to "hoppers". Just before we let the owls go, we fed them live small adult mice. They gobbled them up. We let the owls go almost a month ago. We thought we'd never see them again. The very next night after releasing them (to our delight) both of them returned to a tree nearest our house. They were squawking like crazy standing side by side, wing to wing. Right after sunset they return to our trees every night and start their hunting activity. Besides the palm trees, they seem to prefer the dome cover that sits on top of our fireplace. Based on the number of pellets we see every day, they're not having any problem finding something to eat. We feel very lucky that we had the opportunity to save those helpless little guys. Apparently, our home has become their home.

My father always loved owls. He spoke about them in soft, hushed reverent tones. I love them, too. Especially, snowy owls. All owl species are magnificent birds, though. Intelligent and graceful, lovely birds in flight. It is quite poignant to see this owl family together and their care of their young. It is deeply moving to watch the male's behavior with the dead unhatched chick. It is unfortunate I agree that only one chick hatched out of three. This matters toward the continuation of animal and bird species in the wild.

Wow!! I am Aussie and have never seen images like this before. The Barn Owl is a beautiful bird. Love the colour of her feathers and watching the eggs hatch is amazing. Great video.

My granddaughter (13yrs) and I watch this video when it first came out. I then sent the video to fellow owl lovers. My niece in Birmingham England draws owls and loves the barn owl that's her favorite! So you can count on us to be watching solo grow up. My granddaughter was very saddened by the fact the other two checks did not hatch. I tried to explain to her why they did not I should be glad that one survived. She is going to be following Solo's life as well. Thank you mr. Fuller for sharing your nature friends with us! I was so busy sending the video to family and friends I forgot to leave a comment to tell you how much I appreciate your videos and the time you take to upload them for us out here and RUclips land!!🥰🥰🥰

Cuz humans can be monsters. I hope your grandparents are good- I wish you luck. I had a hellish childhood; almost was killed and nearly committed suicide a couple times but I made it. I’m only telling you because I wish people would have told me similarly when I was younger. People do make it through hell. And just because parents are shitty doesn’t mean you will be- you make yourself. 💜 from a fellow stranger :3

I LOVE barn owls! My favorite of all the owls in my top 5 list of fave animals. It’s so sweet to watch them be so affectionate to each other. Not to mention how absolutely stunning they are😍! Too bad only one baby made it aww
EDIT: I saw a barn owl this morning!!!! In a huge field by my house! She was In full flight probably about 20 feet away from my car & pretty low to the ground! Oh the beautiful brownish red & white! (I say she because the females are darker & she was pretty dark) It was definitely a barn owl 🦉this absolutely made my day 😍

Wauw, it was beautiful to see how concerned Barney is for his chick and how Gylfie feeds and keeps it warm. they are not much different than humans when you see these attitudes, show each other love because they are proud of that one(sorry, ugli) chick, who became a beautiful owl. This is a very precious film I think, just magnificent, thank you, Mr Fuller, for sharing this, I loved it🌹🌱🌿
