Two Bible verses that come to my mind when I listen to Jeff and Elisha speak to others about Jesus (Yeshua) are 2 Timothy 2:15 & 1 Peter 3:15!! These verses speak in regards to how true Messianic believers are to be prepared to tell others about the faith of Yeshua and paving the way for the Holy Spirit (Ruach Ha-kodesh) to draw others to the faith!!! Anytime you see a translation that renders that passage "one and only son" that's inaccurate.
If we take that verse at face value, we'd have to disqualify anyone else from being a child or son of God.
What gives? Well..."only begotten" is a more proper representation of the Greek, and what does it mean? It's connected to the resurrection of Jesus Christ; he's the first and only sinless man to die and be raised from the dead. God bless you.
