I think this is one of my favorite restoration videos. I love how clearly labeled the different steps are, how calmly you do them and clearly show what you're doing, and how natural the sounds are. Your camerawork and editing are gorgeous, and the end result is beautiful! I love that you preserved the casting textures and kept as much of the original charm as possible.
I am a machinist now and was staff in the emergency room once upon a time. I have seen nasty things like this dude coming in carrying his entire arm detached from the shoulder because his long sleeved shirt got caught in a lathe and there was another with a hand twisted and mangled because his hand got caught in a milling machine. Naturally both these men didn't get their parts back in working order. So yes. When machinists tell you to not wear gloves and long sleeves, chances are they have seen accidents like what I have seen.
I love your videos. For one, it's wonderful content with great camera work and excellent editing! Watching you restore objects is very meditative and calming to me. Like the "good kind of youtube videos" to watch right before going to bed! :D But there is more to it. The old, rusty objects would look like "trash" to most people. Something to get rid off, to throw in the bin. But the way you repair them and make them so beautiful and shiny again.. it's like giving them a second chance, a second life. Somehow, by putting your skill and effort and love in your actions of giving them a second life, you're not only restoring them, but also my faith in humanity. 🙏 What we can achieve, when we don't focus on how old/bad things have become, but how to make things better. Maybe even applying it to relationships of any sort..? Putting this work and commitment into something you love is just so noble. You remind me of the traits I love most about humanity. Thank you and keep doing the work you love ❤
Beautiful restoration, what a tribute to your dad. You did your parents proud. Congratulations on hitting the big 100K subscribers. You really deserve it. You have wonderful skills and talents for restoring, your filming and editing are spot on. I'm always excited to see a new posting by you, Doc Beer. Thanks for sharing this lovely piece of history.
Its neat watching this so soon after your candy roller video- i didnt think about it at first, but when you removed the bronze bearing i went "oh! Thats just like the candy roller!" And when you get down to it they are very similar machines Really great work!!
Congratulations on achieving the subscriber milestone, and thank you for another beautifully edited and satisfying restoration! It's very meaningful that you will now be able to keep this reminder of your dad (and mom!) in your workshop, and it's exciting to know that it's already going to play a role in your next video! Very much looking forward to it!
Beautiful restoration, as always. The production values of your videos are incredible. Thanks for the reminder to turn on captions. Something tells me your dad is and was very proud of you.
What an awesome tool for you to restore. Your parents must have known how much you would enjoy restoring and using it! I know I enjoyed watching the restoration process. I undergo infusions to treat my chronic pain, so before I even *watched* this video, it got added to my "Infusions" playlist. There's just something so relaxing about watching someone talented restore tools that I've never used and put them to use! Great work, as always, and congratulations on the Silver Play Button!
I love this kind of videos and with yours it felt like i was also learning something, so keep the good job, and keep on talking about the processes, don't be afraid to be repetitive or technical. I love learning about restorations.

Congrats for reaching 100k subscribers dr beer! Loyal subscriber from Indonesia here! I know that beer lol. Your rating is very precise. Keep up the good work man
I worked with making jewelry at home and read lots of books from the library about these type of tools. If you have a lady friend I might say, you were gonna use it to make a ring for her. Or you might use it to make something larger like a wire basket. I just subscribed so I’ll go watch the next video! Great restoration!!
Wow, after seeing the condition of that rolling mill at the beginning makes me feel much better about mine! It's "modern," but really not very different in its construction. May you get as many years of use out of it as I have mine! (I think we're going on about 30 years!) It's a wonderful tool for recycling scraps!
I love the chapter 13. I’m indulging in chapter 13 now for a couple of hours. Love me some I-10 Intuition. Local made and local drank. Raise a craft for a toast.
. Gruß Tino PS: Tolles Geschenk von Deinen Eltern und ganz tolle Arbeit von Dir wieder! I think it's great that casting still looks like casting after powdering! I'm looking forward to the project where wire is rolled. . Greetings Tino PS: Great gift from your parents and great work from you again!
Whenever I see rivets, I am sad for them, because they did their jobs so well, but they have to be removed. But then whenever I see frozen screws and bolts, I am happy for them, because I know they're going to feel so much more comfortable once they've been cleaned up!
Congratulations on the 100,000 subscriber plaque! I found this episode enlightening. I've always wondered how goldsmiths and silversmiths narrowed wire and this machine speaks for itself.
I appreciate the edit, captions, quality of video and restoration. You will blow up soon but not compromising. Quote me in 1 year when you are over 1m subs
Klasse Arbeit.
Hi, Not sure if the Red, White, Black was intended, if so very clever. Congratulations on your Milestone. Lovely work as usual. Jealous of all of your equipment.
Just found (and subscribed to) your channel and blitzed your videos. It’s been chaotic here and they’ve provided a moment of relaxing travel for me, so thank you. Plus your restorations look incredible, and I’m definitely here for the beer ratings
Beautiful job... Looks like you already had a little beer 🍺 in that glass from a first one...lolol 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Always love your videos especially when the parts walk themselves around...lolol 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I've been a cameraman in Hollywood for over 40 years now and used to do stop motion... ALOT of work...but ALOT of fun when it's done... But i enjoy watching your's and others videos on RUclips right now because I'm going through cancer... But I'll get better and get back to work at some point... Good job mate...
I've seen many knife makers use a forge with a steel tube ( usually square tube for more room ) in heat treating . That will give you a more even heat across your parts instead of having the hot spots under the burners .
Congrats on reaching the 100k milestone, well deserved. Lovely result on the wire-roller itself too, i'm glad you didn't do the base in the same color as the roller, it's good to have them visually separate. If i were to be picky about the restoration, then it would have to be to replace the home-made gear-cover with something more in the shape of the rails. But, that's just me, a rando on the internet that like to think i know what i would've tried. Though, i'm guessing you have far too many hours into the restoration and i know that shaping the metal for a new cover and welding it would be a PITA that i'm guessing might not be really worth it.
I really appreciate decent feedback, so thank you for the input. I guess I never even thought about it. I was focused on upgrading the existing cover 😊
Jozsef, no worries, everything is like always. Didnt change a thing on the concept. just making it clear to people who havent watched my videos yet, that I'm not talking
Actually I was watching for the beer😊 but in the meanwhile I got one of the best restoration videos on RUclips. Thank you

No long sleeves at the lathe please! We need you safe and sound. ❤
It will only hurt for a second but yes!
And please wear gloves 😭
@@candyqueenifyno wtf, never wear Long sleeves or gloves with any rotational machines

Wonderful job you did restoring the gold wire roller. It looks much better and it works like a charm too. I bet your grandpa would be proud of you.
