    Armstrong's brilliant crestfallen & despairing facial expressions on the revelations of his family history are a masterpiece in comedic skills.He is a genius-as is Ben Miller also.The cream of British comedy acting & writing that we have not seen in a long time.Give them Knighthoods !!!!

    I love how insincerely Armstrong plays it at the start. He just cares about his own pride and how he looks on screen. And then you see him genuinely distraught which is even funnier.

    I started watching this and thought at first it was Alexander Armstrong’s real WDYTYA!
    That’s how brilliantly done this is. How on earth did they keep a straight face! They really must have studied the real series so well! Alexander is so fantastic but all credit to the actress too!

    When Armstrong took part in WDYTYA they use a segment of this skit to introduce him, which then made the end of his programme even more dramatic.

    @Bleumange - And people have told you it's not WHO, it's the tv program. The person portrayed doesn't seem to be a parody of someone else. It's the program they are making a parody of.

    This is brilliant. The rich woman has married leaflet guy because he's industrious, successful, pulled himself out of the gutter, a successful salesman who can turn any negative criticism into a business opportunity. She can see he is more genuine and has more potential than her spoonfed pretentious friends. With a little more encouragement and experience he'll leave them all in the dust.

    @Supermassively well, pneumonia has a 'p' in it, but I don't hear anyone pronouncing it 'pee-neumonia', or gnat as 'g-nat'.
    There are silent letters in every language.
    Also, you can still hear the 'r' in her pronunciation. So she's just saying the word in a shorter and more clipped way than most north americans.

  • @AlexJWGordon
    @AlexJWGordon 13 лет назад +2

    @Supermassively The English are the masters of the English language. hence 'English'. Pronunciation can differ from spelling it's common practice. If you're not English, and you speak English (obviously with a different accent distorting and deforming our good language) please don't say we're getting it wrong. We wouldn't re-write the rules of baseball and claim you're doing it wrong.
