- It's one of the harsher gameshows you're likely to encounter. Whereas most would send you home if you get a question wrong, this one sends you into the next life.

98% of this is purely just a regular edition of the actual Krypton Factor, but it just nails the comedic aspects which were always there but passed you by. The casual description of the bafflingly complex heats system, playoffs, and group finals is spot on.
I don’t usually laugh at people being beaten and killed but this is hilarious. The look on Alexander’s face as he can’t believe his eyes is priceless
It killed me
"I don’t usually laugh at people being beaten and killed"
That sounds suspiciously namby pamby.
It's the primary source of comedy in our household, and we sometimes even invite the neighbours round to join in the fun...
The original Pointless trophy!
The original Squid Game!
Lol he gets the mild Ulster twang of Gordon Burns voice spot on! 😏
I worked with a guy who was on the Krypton factor. He used to wear the trainers to work. He came last in the assault course
Maybe he has something wrong with his feet and trainers were better for him than regular shoes as they have a comfier sole and more give in the uppers. Or did he just run like a gimboid, wet or lardy*?
* delete as applicable.
Wait, you get free footwear??
That's Numberwang !
Remain Indoors!
brilliant!
0:19 Lies. She's from Iran.
You used to be a man... OH GOD!
Brilliant send-up of The Krypton Factor for those who can remember it!
Steady on there Christopher.
He's calmed down a lot since then.
_"Tonight is the second-to-last heat of the first play-off heats, in our third Group F draw finals. In 17 weeks time, we'll know all the 63 finalists competing to be named: The Critical Factor Superperson of the Year, and take away this state-of-the-art plastic trophy."_
_"But that's still 83 weeks away! So let's start, as we always do, with round one."_
And thus we see how most game shows could be substantially improved.
Love Island 🙏

Isn't the girl in yellow the lass who plays "April", the woman who "came from Iran" (used to be a man) in IT Crowd?
Sorry, l shdve read the comments!!
Great fight tho!!🥊
right
Good spot
So is she a woman & is she from Iran?
Yes.
actually laughing out loud . fantastic.
What is wrong with using capital letters ?
How can he host Pointless without remembering this every time some gets eliminated?
I remember watching a pointless episode and everyone one of the celebrities were pointless apt really
@@tonydoherty2190 "celebrity" is a very loosely applied word in quiz shows. "people who've been on the telly at some point" is probably more accurate.
@@mikeboosh8776 Exactly....like many words today.....like "Star" "Hero" ...... "Celebrity" is just another that has been demeaned forever.
@@mikeboosh8776 Hence the title Pointless Celebrities, other shows have celebrity before the name, eg Celebrity Chase. It's done deliberately.
The inspiration for squid game
I used to love watching Krypton Factor, I did used to think what happened to the contestants that lost.
staley101 They died. Horribly.
They were killed and ground down into bark chippings, which were used to build the assault course for the next series.
@@gwishart I was gonna say bodies put in motorways being built but yours is a better one
3 of them are consultant civil engineers lol
That was not reason to kill them though, very bad form.
I wondered if that detail was partly in tribute to this sketch from Not the Nine O'clock News: ruclips.net/video/fSykGSUqnKk/видео.html
Were....
Turns out we had a surplus...
No quantity surveyor's.
Brilliant, the best satire always comes from love.
I can just imagine the shows producer leaning into the microphone and saying "Kill Them."
Harsh but fair 😂
Why does this feel like a black mirror episode?
That trophy is very similar to a pointless trophy from some other game show.
This is how *Japanese* gameshows *actually work*
To be honest that wouldn't surprise me but if bucks fizz had ever wrote a good id be in shock
@@tonydoherty2190 A valiant effort but your sentence trailed off badly near the end and sadly became unintelligible. Keep at it and one day who knows ?
@@jonesfamily4326 you forget the word who close to the end .valiant effort there who knows maybe one day
Touche
@@jonesfamily4326 "Keep at it"
Sorry, no, it's too late for tony, the team will be executing him soon. That mistake has put him last on this thread.
The casual murder was almost as good as Grammar Nazi by Mitchell and Webb.
Personally, I felt that it was better, due to the look on Armstrong's face.
I do love Mitchell and Webb though, I do, _really,_ please don't kill me...
Is that Jim Howick from Horrid Histories & Ghosts as Simon ??
Yep.
Distinct lack of quantity surveyor's in the contestants🤔
Interesting to see Miles Jupp and Jim Howick in their younger days.
It's Sooooo Realistic, it's exactly the same as the real Krypton Factor (except for the other bit).
They should do critical factor on britains got talent there would be a lot less turning up for auditions and make it more interesting and if jedward turned up for a guest appearance its a win win
Totally agree, add the X Factor, Love Island, & all the other 'pointless' reality crap shows.
I'd only just forgotten Jedward!!!
@@baabaabaa2293 someone nicknamed them deadwood
@@tonydoherty2190 we can only wish mate!!
Just realised, this was probably the true origin of Squid Game.
Susan was the bloke on IT Crowd...
Epic fight scene!!
From Iran, do you mean?
@@dratz50 Hahahfuknha!!
That show was so well written & acted.. just your comment made me larf!!
Linehan is a genius, Fr Ted, Black Books & IT crowd....it's up there with Blackadder, Enfield & League of Gentlemen!!
Poms do the best humour...easily!!
You can see where Satellite Five got its ideas!
The Krypton factor was almost as convoluted as this spoof. I remember it had rounds and heats and groups and several layers of finals and seemed to go on forever.
The prize looked naff as well.
I don’t think you understand humour
??? Ok.
At 3:07, it looks so real ... anyone care to tell me how this is achieved, seriously, I don't know.
With fire.
Freeze frame and a BBC primetime budget.
Just thought that myself. Clever bit of editing, I think they did a split screen and replaced only the right side. You see a shift in the video compression artefacts that seems to pick it up.
Watch the tree in top right around 2:55 just after the line ‘thought I was gonna come off but I didn’t,’ you just see a small jump. It’s extremely well done.
Susanne was from Iran
The Krypton Factor - special guest director Quentin Tarantino
Funnily enough I spotted 6 continuity errors during this.
Ben does a killer Gordon Burns accent…
You don't meet people like Christopher in Boston, Lincolnshire.
State of the art plastic trophy lol
I thought you were from Iran.
Oh poppet
it`s not you , it`s me . no it`s you
So this is what a British game show looks like
It's a parody of an actual game show form the early nineties called The Crypton Factor.
@@maxmatttstarted in the late 70s
Is that Kirsten McClean off of Limmy's Show?
Wow predicted squid games
Is this where Squid Game got the idea?
Just came here to see the woman from Iran
The letter A?
There are no losers only winners. Can you prove different. No bodies no proof..
Nobody knows
Is this the British version of the hunger games??
Before Squid Games..
British Squid game
squid games foretold?
Suzanne ..USED-TO-BE-A-MAN !!!
I don't mind you come from Iran, well until Saturday that is
Game that would be played if Germany won ww2
Why is Susan's name spelled as Susanne. That would mean her name is pronounced 'Sue's-anne'
Jennifer Kelly
Is it? It's "Susan" at 0:21.
It's to instigate they got her name wrong. A mans personal joke.
Ben and Alexander are geniuses.
Ironically this game show would still be more entertaining than Pointless.
Squid game was just a cheap imitation
Rlol
Thats feminism.
Actually, she's a man. From Iran.
The canned laughter is awful
It's not6 canned laughter, why do we always have to tell this to you people?
@@krashd It is fake (possibly, apart from the studio section) because: 1) no one laughs like that - especially at something so unfunny 2) they were outside for the 2nd activity, where was your live audience? and again no one laughs like that 3) they laugh on cue, when the camera usually zooms in.
And again. most importantly, it's not LOL funny, smirk at best... so it's canned or it's acted laughter.
fucking canned laughter
Is nowhere to be found on British TV seeing as it's against Ofcom regulations.
