great video as always! I just learned in chemistry that one milliliter is equal to one cubic centimeter. So if a bag is say, 20 liters, that becomes 20,000 mililiters which equats to 20,000 cubic centimeters. Transfer centimeters to to meters and you find that the bag has 0.02 meters cubed of space. Clear as mud right? Anywho...yea. LoL

Not sure how I feel about the Honda CRV comparison, but made me laugh. Still going to buy one on CC partly because of this review. Thanks Klint!

Great review...I've been eyeing the Citadel for a while now. Couple of questions for you. Are the compression straps overkill given the volume? Those seem appropriate for a GR2 34L or 40L pack compared to a relatively small, EDC-geared bag. Second, how do you like the hook and loop in the main compartment? I understand how their go bags jive with this layout, but if you're in a public setting (coffee shop, office, air travel), I'd prefer not to let everyone in my vicinity know I'm detaching velcro. A sleeve for documents or a tablet seems like a better configuration with, say, the remaining 1/3 of the area above said sleeve having hook and loop. Third, I believe you said the laptop area is now suspended. Is that correct? I've seen some reviews (probably of previous gens that indicate that's not the case). Lastly, the water bottle pockets have some good elasticity. From your perspective as a bag connoisseur, wouldn't it look a lot cleaner to have them cinch closer to the bag a la a Phoenix 2?

Well - the hook and loop is mainly for folks to strap in pouches, holsters, and admin panels. Configure it in a semi-permanent way and change between different types of loadouts. I'm also not a fan of that - I'd rather have an elastic sleeve and some pocketing (like Greenroom Northseeker). You are actually correct - I said the laptop sleeve was suspended, but meant to say it's padded. There is padding all the way aroudn - but not suspended in teh sense that some other bags are. So there is protection for everyday use, but maybe not from aggressive slams to the ground. Hope that helps!!! The pockets are GREAT functionally, but yes they don't dissappear, they're very much in your face. I do enjoy when pockets are less floppy on the exterior....but in this case, it's a visual continuation of the floppy elastic main pocket, so I think it kinda works.
