A few yrs ago I watched your site, saw what y'all did hauling oysters all night. Fell in love y'all. Then the fire in y'all's Marina and your response did it for me. At 73 goin on 74 y'all ARE the of sailing 🇺🇲❤️❤️ finally I'm a very proud Patron.
Thank you a million. We appreciate it so much! 🇪🇪❤️🇺🇸 We just got outboard running and going to search our friend’s floating dock. Yea - it doesn’t want to idle low..it’s a work in progress:) Thanks also for you past comments. Let’s saddle up and go find that dock! See ya on the next one! Helen&Ted
Hard to believe you weathered the big blow so well...I guess staying up all night to check the lines paid off. Glad you two and Liberty are safe and sound.
Guys, I'm so glad you are ok. I live in south Georgia. There is so much damage. You guys are some brave souls. I pray for all those who have lost much . Love your post. Keep your sword sharp and your spirits high.
You did the smart thing and stayed with your boat! It was well sheltered, well secured with a seasoned crew who know what they're doing. I am totally unsurprised that you survived that storm unscathed, unlike many of your land side friends and neighbors. Thoughts and prayers to all who were impacted. Thanks so much for the update and the "all is well" with the two of you and of course Liberty!. Touche'!
Yes, it was horrible hit. Lives lost. Homes and possessions. Many of our friends lost their houses and are selling their lands and want to move away. They cannot take another hurricane. Thanks, Helena
When you see all the damage around you, it makes you really appreciate how blessed you were to come through undamaged by the hurricane wind or storm surge.
Ted can be just as corney in person as he on the videos. He can also recite any movie line, TV commercial and sitcom line without a single glitch with the best of them.
Thank you so much! This hurricane was a rough one. But we prepared well and had no damage to our boat. Now we are just helping out, where we can and hope this town will come out of this situation. Next hurricane season, I hope to be down south and enjoying this part of the year for a change. 😉 Thanks, Helena
Well we did it! Just like you we stayed with the house (18' Above sea level) about 200 yards from the Gulf. The homes in the first 100 yards of the Gulf were well in the water, as the water went up to Alt 19. The wind was our enemy. I monitored the max wind gust of 91 MPH. As far as damage, only 2 major Oak tree limbs, but they missed the RV, shed and house. God was with us as he was with you guys. Don't get to comfortable as Mr. Weatherman (RUclips) is monitoring a "Copy-Cat" system that will be brewing on Monday or Tuesday with a similar path in the works. Stay Safe!!!
I live in Hypoluxo, FL which is 8 miles south of West Palm Beach on the Intracoastal waterway. We only had a King tide with little flooding & two days of high wind with gusts & intermittent rain. The sea was 10/15 ft. waves. Thank God.
You have your hearts in the right place. Staying with Liberty was spooky but the right thing to do. Keep up the good work and we hope to see you in the Bahamas soon.
Was worried from your previous episode about the storm. Great job keeping Liberty safe. Look after Liberty and Liberty will look after you : ) very upsetting seeing the devastation i know you two will help best as you can. Bless you two
We just finished tying to the trees and anchoring… We made so many mistakes, crashed our mast again to the trees… but the crew held… Being in the harbor next to other boats… if you can tie to trees, drop anchors,( what we have seen, docks tear loose and boats float with them) make sure if flood comes in, your boat stays on the river. Having chips, wine and tacos tonight after docking. Doing the best and hoping for the best. I am praying for you🙏 Love, Helena
Praying for yall and Liberty and everyone else in the area with Milton bearing down ..Got lots of family down that way. Hoping yall are in a safe place til the storm passes. Anxiously waiting for an update on the aftermath.
I totally agree, every hurricane I've ever encountered, beer and pizza were totally necessary to prepare for! Oh keep your eyes open for the Amazonites coming your way Helen. Can't wait to see you wearing it! Russ
I have been waiting anxiously for this post. Praying for you guys from the last post that you would make it through the storm safely. It is such a relief to see you all are okay. I live on the coast of NC behind the Outer Banks. Seemingly, our entire state, especially our folks in the Western portion, are suffering incredibly. So, I understand your conflicting feelings of being safe and unharmed yourselves while others around you were less fortunate. It is a hard pill to swallow. God bless to you both, your friends in the community, and to all the others impacted by this hurricane.
Thankfully you guys are ok, I was truly worried for you both and we prayed for you in our prayer circle. Thanks for updating us so quickly regarding your status. Blessings to you beautiful people. ❤️❤️
Great to see you came through OK on Liberty. You prepared well and were ready to face a tough and anxious time. Well done! Now for another big clean up and I know you both will be there to help out. Something we don't experience here in South Australia. Hang in there guys.
I'm so glad you guys and Liberty are safe. ❤ I'm from east Tennessee......Bristol and I was surprised to see how much damage it did in eastern North Carolina & east TN.
Amazing!!!!!!! It's so good to see you guys. Over the past 48 hours or so I felt I would never hear from you again. That was a big storm it wiped out many communities just to the south of you and to the north of you. Thanks for the quick update I will sleep better tonight. Oh Helene did not take your bikes.
Danke sehr für denken über uns! Ich war und ich liebe sehr viel Österreich!:) War in Ried im Innkreis ein Monat , es ist ein sehr nettes Stadt. Und natülich ich habe Vienna besucht. Danke, Helena
So happy to see you guys and Liberty came through the storm ok. So many people including some in my family weren't so fortunate. God bless and look forward to your maiden voyage to the Carribean.
Wow kids! Thank you for sharing this terrifying experience, especially the videos showing how bad it was for so many of your neighbors. We pray that you And others are able to come back and rebuild!
Thank you for the prayers! So many people lost their homes, lives or their valuables. Hard to see the destruction. This one was worse than Idalia. But people have come together and helping each other. It is a true hometown spirit here!:) Thanks, Helena
I am glad to see that the liberty and her crew made it through yet another storm. As you looked around and showed us just some of the devastation in the area I could not help but notice that the older boats seemed to handle it much better than the newer ones. I have been a subscriber now for awhile. And what I have seen the most not only from the two of you but from anyone who your friends with as well is CARE and UNDERSTANDING. You do a great job educating everyone on what your doing and why even if its something totally new and unfamiliar to you both. I can not wait to see you finally set sail to far and away places. Bring with you that CARE and UNDERSTANDING as you go, spread it far and wide and maybe the world will have a chance. At least everywhere the two of you have been will. Love the channel, love you both.
Hey guys, good job keeping the air in and the water out during your hurricane adventure. What’s especially notable however is how well the 2 of you work together. Relationships are much more difficult to maintain than sea worthiness! Keep the shinny side down and the Rocna secure as you venture about
Really relieved you guys made it through, with out any tree tops falling on the boat, like that big one in the middle of the river, thanks for the update.
If any boat survives on this River preparation wise, it would be Liberty. And the preparation met the disaster head on and we call it a draw. Thanks, Helena
Good job getting yourselves and the boat ready. I've been watching videos from Tenn, N.C. and Georgia and the damage from flooding is just crazy. I'm really glad you are okay. Stay safe. ❤🙏
Flooding was merciless. People in town are battered. Many lost their homes. But it is a true hometown spirit and everyone helps everyone. Thanks, Helena
New subscriber here. I just have to say awesome video. And i pray for all the fallen victims of the hurricane. Keep up the great content and much love to ya guys from Maryland❤❤❤. And u are def blessed with such an amazingly beautiful woman by ur side brother. Thats all. 😊😊
Praise God that he kept both of you and the boat safe. There is so much devastation Florida North Carolina all up and down the East Coast Kentucky and Tennessee are supposed to get rain today and tomorrow non-stop A lot of dams were on the verge of collapse. Thank you for sharing and letting your viewers know that you guys are okay. God bless and stay safe
Hey Guys, Thanks for a great video, was thinking about you and glad you and the boat survived. It takes two! Sometimes going through hard times together makes us realize how important the ones you love are the only thing that really matters. Hope you guys are together forever!!!!
We will go today to search our friend’s floating dock, in the place, where we stay they lost it and rake up their yard etc. After that move from there. Thanks, Helena
I just want to say that I have really enjoyed following your videos with Liberty. I am glad you survived HeIene, along with all of the other recent hurricanes you had to endure. I am retired and living in SWFL and while I don’t have the extra resources to help financially with your journey, I have been living vicariously through your videos. The other thing that I really love about your videos is that they are current, and not months behind like other sailing videos. If getting to meet both of you and seeing Liberty in person is a possibility, I can make the trip north to your location. In any case, take care, make Liberty seaworthy, and live your dreams.
Thank you for such a nice letter! We have one final major project to get Liberty seaworthy. We plan to sail down south in the end of November. Thanks, Helena

I suppose that is the quality of the vidio's you make & seeing the progression since the begining. I pray things go well for you both . Your really good people . Steve from Ohio
Glad you guys made it. Helene caused severe flooding all the way up to Tennessee. My friend in North Carolina is dealing with severe storm damage and flooding.
SO THANKFUL YA'LL ALL THREE ARE SAFE AND SOUND i feel like ya'll are family and was so relieved to see this episode posted best wishes from S. Louisiana ( we had ours last week)LOL
Thank God y'all are okay! Worried shitless when that Hurricane grew so fu,,ing fast ❤ Helen smoked me wit the pizza y'all that was me dinner last night! Dollar general, in a pinch ❤ soooo damn glad y'all are safe.
Thank You for thinking about us! It seems we have been in the constant move after hurricane Debby. Before this storm, I was whispering to myself I cannot believe it is happening… Now we are just going around and helping where we can. But I cannot wait to get to bed tonight and get the good night sleep. I feel like in the daze. Pizza was so delicious. Our frozen food melted during rushing and went bad, so today we will have rice and beans again. Soon hope to go to store and get meat. Unluckily, but still grateful, we have over 300 pound rice to chomp on 😂😅😅🤣. Perfect for this kind of situations. Just a little soy sauce and life is good. Thanks, Helena
WOW! the first one was just practice for this one and that was as close to a direct hit as you can get. Thank god the two of you and Liberty are all OK
Helen! You made that delicious pizza in a hurricane on a camp stove! I can't do that without disaster in my fitted kitchen. You are so greatb to have around and full respect to you. Ted loved it too. 💝
Thanks, I blasted it with broiler in the end. Came out pretty nice. Junk food and good food with glass of red wine comforts me during the storms. Thanks, Helena
Thanks for a thoughtful look at what a hurricane does to not just you guys on Liberty but also the surrounding areas. Glad you are safe and with no damage. How far up river do you go to ride out the storm? I guess the storm surge is less the further inland you get because it spills out over the land.
We loose 2 knots of wind on weather map by going inland…. And in our hurricane hole trees are like a cliff, cutting wind. During the worst storm trees are blocking wind… when hurricane winds starts to turn and wind starts to blow across the river, the worst should be passed. In the marina there was a huge area for wind to pick up and it was always worse. We are going 2-3 miles in and it makes a huge difference. Thanks, Helena
Glad to see you all safe. I was worried when you biked in the watery roads, thinking about downed power lines as you rode. It also reminded me of hurricane Sandy. That was no joke either. 8 ft. tidal surge in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn. Cars lifted on park benches a mile inland.
had concern looked at the map thinking of you guys-----really glad you got through --- We have family in North Carolina near Ashville .They are OK but nowtrying to find a way out.
I glad your family is made through the storm. Everyone who survives or go through the storm unscathed is a win for the community. These kind of monster storms are scary to go through, especially, because of all the unknown, that can happen and helplessness of floodwater and high winds, you can only do so much. We want to sail next year to place this time of a year without hurricanes. Thanks, Helena
Hello you guy’s I was concerned about you guys in the hurricane my god it was fierce with the damage that it done glad to see below on comments that you two are safe cheers 🥂
Wow you guys are my heroes! I commend your boaring skills it's an amazing you dd !!! I love South of Homosassa and it's total devastation here!! GOD BLESS YOU!!!🎉❤😊😊😊
Rig to the water idea fits everything I’ve heard as now the shortest path to the water is that line for lighting! Otherwise it travels all through your boat. The main thing I’d worry about is the stuff being pulled down the river like boats and docks hitting your boat. But you did well, very well!
Thanks , the old owner cut through all the bonding and reading about lightning hits, it is a lot of grey area and people trying to sell you some stuff… Have been hit twice already and cannot afford to replace our equipment. Thanks, Helena
We do the same thing here in N Illinois, but its during blizzards and tornados. Nothing like cruising the back roads in -35 degrees f. Saving farm animals and idiots on the roads. But, it normally ends with sharing a meal and some good beers. Its really all the same thing. Minus certain death in 15 minutes exposed to the elements. God be with all who need help with this storm.
glad you are safe. Watch out another may be on the way. when I had a sailboat I IIused jumper cables. heaviest and longest I could find. striped one end and connected the other too the shrouds.
I was thinking about you guys. I’m glad you posted a quick update and you made it through OK.
Thank You, it was a rough one, but we made it. Moving the boat back to our friend's dock today and go help out in town. :)
Hope safe in your area ❤

Glad to see you all safe. I was worried when you biked in the watery roads, thinking about downed power lines as you rode. It also reminded me of hurricane Sandy. That was no joke either. 8 ft. tidal surge in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn. Cars lifted on park benches a mile inland.
Hey u 2.i keep watching from afar but always sending hugs and smiles
LIBERTY I am happy to see you guys safe .

Happy to see you came through that so good. I have been concerned. I am in Tampa. No problem at my house. Others were flooded pretty badly. Stay safe.
We are happy your house was safe. 😊 Everyone who got through this storm unscathed is a win.
Thanks,
Helena
I'm glad you guys are safe
So glad you made it through that awful weather. Well done guys. Keep up the good work. SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍🏿
Thank you for thinking about us!:)
Ted and Helen
had concern looked at the map thinking of you guys-----really glad you got through --- We have family in North Carolina near Ashville .They are OK but nowtrying to find a way out.
Thanks,
Helena
Awesome, glad you are well.
Wow you guys dodged a bullet there seeing all that damage nearby to you stay safe good to see you come thru unscathed
Happy to see you guys made it safely. Sad for all the destruction. Those Starratt's were built like tanks!

Thanks , the old owner cut through all the bonding and reading about lightning hits, it is a lot of grey area and people trying to sell you some stuff…
Have been hit twice already and cannot afford to replace our equipment.
Thanks,
Helena
We do the same thing here in N Illinois, but its during blizzards and tornados. Nothing like cruising the back roads in -35 degrees f. Saving farm animals and idiots on the roads. But, it normally ends with sharing a meal and some good beers. Its really all the same thing. Minus certain death in 15 minutes exposed to the elements. God be with all who need help with this storm.
Seize the moment, not shrinking from the moment but diving straight in,yes it’s all the same:)
Glad yall are ok, stay safe
Hi from Greece, stay safe buddies
