I tried it.....Try using a Xanthum Gum. I went and looked for the recipe but, I've got hundreds so, I think I used the gum over the Silica. Mine came out a tad bit runny so I just added more sugar.
Thats what I'm thinking as well, to use less silica and more oil to try and get the exact match with with minimal ingredients ☺️ I'm going to do some testing to see what happens.
Hi! Can I leave the silica out or if not, what can I use to substitute the silica? I don't have that ingredient. Also, where did you purchase the silica?
Great job thanks so much I got a question those little package that you find and medicine bottle or any other merchandise is it that silica You're talking about 😊♍❤️
There are certainly more natural ingredients you can use to make a scrub..but I wanted to try dupping their product so I chose to use the ingredient they use to see how it works. Thanks for you comment. ☺️

Thanks so much for sharing. Where did you purchase your silica?
You can get it from TKB trading
I wonder if you used 2% silica and made up the rest with oil if that would make it more fluid?
Thats what I'm thinking as well, to use less silica and more oil to try and get the exact match with with minimal ingredients ☺️ I'm going to do some testing to see what happens.

The silica is the white powder that I added to the jar with the purple and red spatula...I think that's what you are asking?
Yes thank you
Is liquid germall plus used ?
You can use any preservative that works for body washes and scrubs
How do you “measure” out percents? I’d love to get started doing things like this!
What can be substituted for silica?
I haven't come across a true substitute that I would recommend to get this texture yet. If you come across a substitute, I would love to know as well.
Did you find one? If not, someone in the above comments mentioned a good one.
@@meliw4142 thank you
@@meliw4142 I will look it up TU for all your knowledge and unconditional information ☺️🍃
You use % how do you covert your % into grams and ounces?
Convert by taking % and multiply by 100, 1% to 0.01 x 100= 1
1 x 28.35 gms= 28.35 grams
There is 28.35 grams in every ounce.
@@debragoodwin2081I googled the percentage to grams calculator

Thank you for the video, but why can silica be substituted since it cannot be found in my country Algeria?
Xanthan Gum perhaps?
Hi Renee, which kind of silica did you use? Do you have a preference in brand?
Hi! I used Silica Dimethyl Silylate, TKB Trading sell it! ☺️
@@ReneeBarnettTV thank you! 😊
Why do you need synthetic ingredients like silica for this , are there natural substitutions for that part of the process?

What would be the natural ingredient to use in place of the silica please?
@sylviajohnson373 an answer was in one of the earlier comments. ❤

The reason why I don’t use this ingredient is because it’s not natural.
I agree natural is always a great choice, I like to do something fun and challenging every now and then, this was it ☺️ enjoyed the process
I would use a higher amount of oils, and a little Castile soap
Can I use vegetable oil
@@katrinabradley4421what does the Castile soap do?
