    Is there a substitute For both silica and for polysorbate 20?

      There is no subs for Silica Dimethyl Silylate/ Silica

    I tried it.....Try using a Xanthum Gum. I went and looked for the recipe but, I've got hundreds so, I think I used the gum over the Silica. Mine came out a tad bit runny so I just added more sugar.

    Loved the video, maybe use a little less silica, and more oil. I think it will be more liquid. My idea I have never done scrubs.

    I wonder if you used 2% silica and made up the rest with oil if that would make it more fluid?

      Thats what I'm thinking as well, to use less silica and more oil to try and get the exact match with with minimal ingredients ☺️ I'm going to do some testing to see what happens.

      The silica is the white powder that I added to the jar with the purple and red spatula...I think that's what you are asking?

      You can use any preservative that works for body washes and scrubs

      I haven't come across a true substitute that I would recommend to get this texture yet. If you come across a substitute, I would love to know as well.

    You use % how do you covert your % into grams and ounces?

      Convert by taking % and multiply by 100, 1% to 0.01 x 100= 1
      1 x 28.35 gms= 28.35 grams

    Why do you need synthetic ingredients like silica for this , are there natural substitutions for that part of the process?

      There are certainly more natural ingredients you can use to make a scrub..but I wanted to try dupping their product so I chose to use the ingredient they use to see how it works. Thanks for you comment. ☺️
