Maryland is not just a state; it's a cult. Marylanders will joke about huffing Old Bay. Kidding aside, it is a decent seasoning blend. Paprika, cumin, celery salt, onion, garlic, peppercorn. It's savory and a little smokey.
I think I saw in another video (where he discussed a DnD character sheet) that it was indeed and he asked for no more. That Old Bay will go far with knuckle head trout in Icewindale
I've never seen a man go from being absolutely reviled by Marylanders to adored by Marylanders in such a short span of time. And yes, as somebody from Washington DC, Old Bay is huge around here. The seafood markets that used to float on the water would sell Old Bay right next to the crabs. I've seen it on burgers, fries, heck, even kettle corn in the Amish markets. Kudos for finding ways to incorporate a heckle into the show so smoothly.

Man, bummed I missed out on renfest this year. Maryland renfest is just the best ever. There’s a whole forest dedicated to it, filled with wooden stages and cabins with shops. All the signage is hand painted. Such a colorful place and it’s genuinely the only huge community event I enjoy, save maybe the state fair. Glad Jacques got a not-so-proverbial taste of Maryland. There’s a reason we’re so nutty about Old Bay!!!!! It’s perfect on everything. If you can eat it, it would probably benefit from some Old Bay. Personally I associate the taste of it too much with seafood to enjoy it on chicken though.

Sounds like you would like Old Bay. Its a bit savory and pretty damn spicy by American standards. In my opinion it’s a seasoning best used on its own. I hear folks compare it to Cajun seasoning, and it’s definitely similar, but it has its own distinct taste. You can put it on everything from potato chips to salad but it’s definitely best on seafood.
